  • What’s up everybody. In todays video, I will be doing an unboxing, demo, and initial review of the Central Pneumatic 50lb Abrasive Blaster from Harbor Freight. This typically costs around $39.99 but you can sometimes get this on sale and/or use a coupon. I picked this up on Labor Day and paid roughly $30. It’s a very basic design but that’s good because there is not much to break or go wrong. In my basic testing, it seemed to work good. The hose does seem to be a little long so I cut mine in half for better media flow. Overall, for $30 I really like it for occasional spot blasting.

    I got same one different name, but use 50ltr compressor, once it's setup its grand. Just FYI very important to have the cross drilled holds in the brass fitting on the side exposed.
    Oh and I had to run a drill through the feed hole for abrasive, because of burrs in the gun, simple enough

    Thanks! Great tutorial! Would this be suitable to strip and repaint aluminum car wheels?

      @DieselLegiance  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It’s possible. If it’s a one time thing, maybe, it may just take a little while. If stripping wheels was a business and you were doing it more than one time, I’d say get something bigger and better.

    I tried scrolling through comments to see if this has already been asked. Did not see…do you know if dry ice medium can be used with this product?

    I have the fortress 4 gallon 4cfm 200 psi air compressor. Will this work with this blaster kit?

    • @DieselLegiance
      @DieselLegiance  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It should, but I assume your compressor will constantly be running to keep up.

    Would regular play sand work? I have a bag just sitting in my shed.

      It’s possible as long as it was 100% dry.

    I wonder how long it would take to remove rust from a Wrought Iron gate

      Depends on the size/length. If it’s a big fence, you probably would benefit by a larger unit with a larger compressor.

    I was going to use soda as a medium. After seeing your video I thought I could try coal slag. But the safety data sheet is pretty scary. This thing is similar to sand in terms of health risks. I initially thought it was powdered coal but this is slag out of coal burned for energy and the list of minerals and chemicals is concerning. Do you use this media often as you didn't seem to use appropriate protection in this video. Just trying to get some facts and also your usage experience. Thanks.

    I have 4 bags of playsand from home depot that's been kicking around the house for awhile...I was wondering if you think I could use that as a media before I go buy this machine?

    • @DieselLegiance
      @DieselLegiance  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it's 1000% dry then probably. Moisture ruins all media.

      So, when using sand be advised a good respirator is absolutely necessary.. sand contains silica.. A day at the beach is fun, major lung issues, not so much....

    Can you effectively use soda with this unit? Or something similar that will take paint off wood?
