Still a number of Interceptor adventures still to be uploaded on the channel! Hope you stay tuned for those. Let me know if you have any other questions about owning an INT below.
@@ajithrshet8250 The INT is easy handling on the road but a bit heavy when stopped especially if you’re below my height (5’7” / 169cm), though lowering shocks are available. Cheap to own, just pay attention to keeping it clean, bleeding the brakes, etc. Japanese bikes are more reliable but this isn’t too bad and still great value.
Sir, thank you for such an honest and enthusiastic run down on your experiences on your RE Interceptor 👍. I have just come back to motorcycling after many years, I'm 65 next birthday and have just bought an Interceptor. I love it and, as predominantly a road rider, find it fantastic fun. Good luck with your new bike, ride safe.
This is one of the clean reviews i have heard so far. Not everything can be explained in pros and cons and decide a bike is good and bad. Its the experience and feel good factor which make you keep it or leave it. Very well put together.
Glad you appreciate it! I agree, owning a bike isn't really like having a check list of pros and cons. The overall effect is greater than the sum of those parts.
You one of the reasons why i started riding after stumbling on your channel.I am now planning on visiting the Philippines after i completing my ride to Sturgis. A road trip to Bantangas would be cool .
You articulate your words very good. Very good, and very detailed review. You have a good, experimental knowledge of the RE 650. Really enjoyed the review.
Congratulations on the new bike. I am from India and own a RE 350. Been looking to upgrade and I am getting closer to it. Watching your videos gives an odd satisfaction of doing things I am not doing yet, weird it is. Thanks a lot.
from someone that had a GT, I think you review has been one of the best (earned a sub from me). Good job on staying humble and honest about the self-inflicted problems. Well done bud! keep it up and good luck on the "new-to-you" MT-07
Thank you so much on the final review. I am planning to get one. At least now I know what to rectify before taking the bike home from the dealership, since the dealership is 245km away from where I live. Salamat!
Accidentally - I have watched your video where you just introduced the Interceptor and have mentioned that you want to make a scrambler out of it. That surprised me a bit (mind you, I am just an armchair biker), but it would appear that it would have taken a lot more work to turn this (relatively heavy) bike into a scrambler. But I 100% agree - thtat torquey engine would be great for a larger Himalayan (minues extra weight)
I just stumbled over your channel, and for someone that watches many!! motorcycle channels. Your are great at this! I´m sure youre channel will grow to a BIG community!! Keep up the good work!
I really like your honest and robust review told entirely from your riding experiences. Keep it up and looking forward for the MT450 contents. I for one never give up dreaming everyday there will be VersysX 400 hahahaha
I have a Dominar, a lot of people are complaining about that motorcycle, and I didnt got even one single problem over 21.000 kilometers. Before that, I got an Himalayan 411 for several months, and that one was difficult to cold start, and then stalled during the rides. Never was able to solve those problems. I like the interceptor, but after my bad experience on the himalayan, I am not so sure.
And I just watched the Chaos Causes video on the MT07 haha. I am very curious how you will articulate your experience with those… shortcomings. You have a very good way with words.
To be honest I got a bit disappointed when I saw the tail end of your new bike 😂 but im happy for you! Excited to see your future adventures with your new Himalayan! 😊
You're right. I didn't guess. Based on everything you said, I thought it was going to be an older BMW dual sport, such as an F700GS or comparable model.
Hi there, i presume the bash plate problem was to do with the regulator getting too hot? I must admit I didnt know its location till you pointed it out. Seeing the kind of ground you have been riding on i can see how the head bearings would have taken some knocks. Great honest review. 👍
You make superior vids and your English is perfect! That does seem like a lotta problems to me! I've had 3 Hondas and 1 Yamaha (I'm 72 and NO probs except for my '97 Blackbird ( The 1100xx Cbr) after 7 years never even had to adjust the chain! But the reg/rect failed
Great video! 'Keeping the Interceptor would be for sentimental reasons only'.. and why not? My Interceptor has done 44000km, taken me all over Europe and of course many adventures along the way.. it's about memories together and we have plenty. Times change, four years ago I couldn't afford anything 'better'..now I can BUT how can I desert a friend who's been reliable and trustworthy? I know what would probably happen..pay a lot more for a 'better' bike and it gets a load of expensive problems to fix..maybe waiting months for (expensive) spare part for example. What shall I do? Probably keep her, but good luck with your new stead.
I thought it was a sv650. MT07 is quite close tho. But my guess is youll get the 450MT and I'm quite excited not about the positives but the negatives along the way about its long term reliability because I know your reviews will be honest.
Too many wonderful memories made on the INT. Too many rides to count. Im gonna miss seeing and hearing that bike on the road. You will be missed, INT650! Off to new beginnings 🎉
I recently sold my interceptor too, same colour. Only cons are the ones you mentioned, specifically the braking, breaking really needs an improvement, also the suspensions. Great motorcycle otherwise. Love the motor. Planning to go for the guerrilla base variant, the other colours are too loud. What would you say about it?
I also started with a classic bike due to its timeless looks, but having tried a naked's lightness and is more fun to ride due thanks to its agility and more powerful engine compared to a tamed engine on a classic bike despite its higher displacement, I am now head over heels with my KTM Duke 🤣
Excellent review Aaron - informative, engaging and thorough. It's the attention to detail and real-life experiences that set you apart from those trendy boring-ass presenters.
@@RRRRefuelRideRace I got mine used with some rust on the headers as it had lived semi-outdoors but never had any additional rust problems beyond that.
@Ride_XP I have been using it for 3 years and it’s really makes me to enjoy ridding but I had a bitter experience where it got punctured and none of the mechanic was able to help me fixing my puncture problem. When I called Road side assistance from Royal Enfield they charged me heavy if I was stuck some where where my phones won’t get tower signals or some worse situation will really make my trip so worse. May I know pierelle tyres where you got it from ?

Honestly understand your intentions - all good... But MT-07 ? - Couldn't be more sad, you could have gone for APRILIA or KTM... Anyways, my best wishes and more years of joy and happiness ahead for you...
Sadly, KTMs here have a horrible (and not undeserved) reputation especially the 790s, which is too bad since they were selling them for 40% off. Aprilia Tuono 660, awesome bike, not in my budget since I want to own both a road bike and an ADV. I got the MT07 for practically nothing after selling the INT! It's a drama-free, fun, and raw motorcycle. It is, no doubt, technically inferior to those two brands, but I got the suspension sorted and can enjoy it within my limits.
@@Ride_XP - Suspension is most worrisome character in every YAMAHA bike that I rode. But if it's taken care then sure it does makes sense. For me in India, it's fantastic value for money. However, I always wanted to keep the bike native and factory-fresh till my last day with it and in this regard I had tough time with stock suspension. Hope it works for you going forward and look forward to know how's it going with time...
He should have gotten a MT-07 to begin with.. The interceptor was a big mistake. He's probably going to get the CFMoto 450MT or if he is smart, wait for the 800MT-X
A long time ago, when I wasn’t as experienced. I actually almost bought a 790 Adventure R at a huge discount because the distributor is letting go of KTM. But frankly I was warned not to have a KTM as my one and only bike, and I also saved a ton of money in the process. Now I can have two bikes instead of one KTM.
