I have the 6 string and I'm in love with it. The flat, satin neck is the most comfortable one I've ever played. It's hard to even enjoy playing my older guitars anymore because this one is so perfect. I didn't even select this guitar myself, a friend picked it out for me! Nonetheless, it was love at first sight. Thanks so much to everyone involved in making this thing
Love to see a permanent left handed model from this sig. Guitar (at least a 6 string version). PRS, please add a couple of lefty models to your SE line, please!
I replaced a pretty specific guitar (LTD Axxion) with this model and has been one of the most rewarding things as a player. @@demokraatti dude these are premium guitars not only prs all quality guitar comes with locking tuner's for better tuning stability locking tuner's are Mandatory now a day's
Nothing stopping you replacing the tuners if you prefer. They don't affect the tuning stability - unless you can't wind strings properly and only benefit those that are regularly changing strings - especially if you have multiple guitars you replace strings on regularly (like gigging musicians do). Point is, they don't affect the 'tuning' stability and I think people confuse 'locking tuners' to mean they improve/lock the tuning (like a Locking nut) but in reality, they just make swapping strings a bit less of a chore. If they are geared the same and decently made so they don't slip, it doesn't matter if you have locking tuners or not, they tuning stability will be the same. PRS SE locking tuners are the 'same' as non-locking, they just swap the post with locking post. They only time tuning is affected by 'tuners' is if they 'slip' (not very common with 'decent' tuners) or if the person doesn't know how to wrap strings around a post properly and the string 'moves/slips'. Most common cause of tuning instability is actually the nut - too much friction causing the string to bind and not return to pitch - string pull through the nut can reduce/increase friction (why Gibsons can struggle) but tuners are rarely the issue... In other words, switching over to locking tuners adds nothing but extra cost. Its more of a convenience factor to those who change strings frequently enough for it to make sense...
Do these have stainless steel frets? Edit: Darn, nope :( Ya’ll should make a slightly pricier version with stainless frets, locking tuners, and a graphtec nut. Maybe a slightly different paint job to differentiate it? This has to be a best selling PRS, it would probably be worth it financially. I know I’d buy one with those changes 🤓
