    just wanna say that I was already sold on these guitars before I watched your video but yours was the icing on the cake. Now that I finally got my 2020 version I just wanna say a thank you!

      Yeah this definitely isn't a budget guitar but for the price, you're getting something that's easily better than many guitars double the price of this one. The pickups are just amazing too!

      @@geirisk8 yes truly I could not find dedicated pikups companies providing their product in any guitars at this price except prs mark holcomb . All were stock pikups and am sure they are not good enough! And mark’s pikups are also affordable than Bareknucks!

    The top veneer has always varied wildly on these. Some have had absolutely stunning tops, while others were pretty lackluster. It maybe has to do with why they made the finish slightly darker on the updated model to make the differences in tops slightly less noticeable. Still killer instruments!

      PRS in a nutshell IMO. They dont have very strict eyes when it comes to what woods are "Top worthy".

    I absolutely love the wood grain veneer top on my 2020 they are much better wood patterns than the older ones.. but I always wondered why the top appeared so dark, almost black in comparison to the older ones.. Was this intentional or just different paints being used in different factories?

  • @Ciberbastardo

    I bought this guitar in 2020. It sounds great.
    My model is made in Indonesia by Cort. But some finishes are neither like the 2017 model nor the 2020 model that you have shown.
    My guitar is marked by Mark Holcomb, the nut is white and the neck binding is white yellow. The body itself is dark like the 2020 model that you have.
    What could it be due to? It looks like a mixture of parts of one and the other.

    • @colinrobinson9674
      @colinrobinson9674 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Same here. Bought on 2021. White nut, named truss rod cover.

    • @jonthorsigmunds
      @jonthorsigmunds 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can reply to that as this is my guitar in the video. I swapped out the nut for Graphtech TUSQ XL as the original one was cut so bad it was unplayable. I also flipped the truss rod cover to hide the signature. I can't say for the neck binding, mine is pretty white.

    • @jonthorsigmunds
      @jonthorsigmunds 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Black Orbit yes, the nut was shit but that’s been fixed on the 2022 models. If the nut is black, then you’re good. I have my action set super low and I have no issues with buzz of any kind. This guitar is a work of art, you’ll be happy

  • @semyonboyk0

    Did you have to pad your input on Axe FX? These pickups sound 🔥🔥

    • @geirisk8
      @geirisk8  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the input knob half way for all guitars and that seems to be the sweet spot and these worked well in that setting. I've had one instance where a pickup was so hot that I had to dial the input gain just a little bit down so that it wouldn't clip.
      Yeah those pickups are insane. They'll make any guitar sound huge!!

      I did that and put ratio tuners on my whale blue limited run and it plays like a dream.
