Thanks! We spend 20 - 30 hours just writing the script, then another 10 - 15 hours of filming, then another 20 or so hours of editing per video. Even our tutorial series took a long time because we wanted to make sure it was fun to watch. We grew up on boring dry tutorials and didn't want our community to experience the same so we tried to make them as fun as possible. :)
It's obvious you take pride to do nothing but greatness. It gives me the sense your products are just as great because the time went in to make them what you say their are! Also Misha Aprils > Billy Mays. Very clever parody! I wonder how many people will pick up on that. I hope everyone!
This morning I took out my apex preamp of the closet, haven't used it in years. I ran it with GGD studio cab zilla and ohhhhh boy! I'll use it more often! thanks again horizon devices!
This looks interesting... Horizon sent me an email with these videos because I bought the Precision Drive off their website. I'm glad they made a little instruction demo too, so I know it can work with my amp, through the front input. I just upgraded from practice and combo amps to a head/cab- Hughes & Kettner Grand Meister Deluxe 40. I've been able to use the Horizon Precision drive to color distortion with no issues, so maybe I should/will go with a Horizon preamp too. (the Precision was around $299, I believe?) I'll wait since they won't ship (or charge my debit card until it ships, I assume) until Dec/Jan. I have an ISP Theta distortion preamp already but I'm only now starting to use it with the new amp since I finally just figured out the right way to connect it in the chain. I'll use the time to see how much I like the Theta before deciding.
I'd love an additional balanced XLR out exclusively for the speakersim. I noticed the cassis is kinda like the MXR 5150 pedal, but the guts inside is pretty different?
or you can simply run it in the FX loop of your amp and just use the poweramp section. Which is how you'd use preamps normally. Of course you can stack these devices but I don't see the point of using 2 or more EQs in a row.
Is the Apex only for clean channel or can it be used on dirty channel? I tried using it on blue channel on my 5150 III, sounded horrible. Tried it on clean channel it was awesome. Apex on clean channel on a high gain amp, kind of makes me mad thinking about it. Does anyone know how get the best of both worlds?
If I wanted to use it as a cab sim to record directly into my focusrite and if I also wanted to use pedal effects (like reverb and delay) should I put them after the cab sim?
Oh shit, it sounds muddy on here too. That one dude wasn't kidding. To think I almost bought this pedal! Lol. On the flipside, I LOVE my Tokyo Drive! It's a beast!
Misha said it himself. Plug the apex straight into the INPUT and not the effects loop. This pedal is the opposite twin of the metalzone cuz the metalzone works best as a preamp and the apex works best as a dist. Pedal
Misha is my favorite salesman.
Fluff got a little darker than I remember. I like it.
Misha Monsoor: *slaps top of horizon device* "this bad boy can fit so much frickin djent in it"
Djentyboi holy fucking shit that mtn djent machine
Lamborgatti -47 😂😂😂😂Its my signature model
best comment so far!
1:13 He forgot to use Ola’s tape trick ;) Still, sounds stellar!
Gotta love that painters tape!!
This is great! Your product demos are entertaining, clear, and well made! Your videos are as tight as that killer guitar tone! All impact, no flub!

One of you best ads yet! I was waiting for a video like this; I love the versatility of this pedal!
Thanks!

It's 299$ for pre-orders.
Thanks svelle
hey Misha, why not showing how the Apex sounds through the effect loops of the amp?I would think that this would be the main way to use it no ?
Check out Ola Englund's demo
1:08 hahahahah epic
May induce seizures.
I've watched this so many times just to hear that riff at the beginning
You can fit so much freakin' toan in this amp. *slaps the roof of the amp*
🤣 entertained me for sure. Best advertisement ever
How does it sound straight into the interface, cab sim off, then using IR’s?
A Hundred times YES. Tbh all the demos so far showing how the preamp sounds direct into an audio interface have all sounded pretty bad...
It’s Jake on this video? 🤔
Jhonatan Alexandre yups he is Jake manshoor 😂😂😂
Is OK if I do this?
Guitar ->Apex(cab sim on) ->delay pedal ->front of house
Nobody:
Misha slaps pedal:
Everyone buys!
ive put it on my fx loop but i get a delayed noise/feedback when i turn it on, any pointers on how to dial this in
Should I get the pre amp or the pricision drive
Any point in having the precision drive if you buy this?
Thank you Misha, very cool.
(Edit) Nice beard, better than PewDiePie's.
>video begins
Hi Rob Scallon.
what's better or difference from the preamp and pedal? I'm new to the pedal area 😅
Well... I'm sold!
Could you use this with a Poweramp and cab as kind of a full rig? Full being a term used loosely here
I'd love an additional balanced XLR out exclusively for the speakersim.
I noticed the cassis is kinda like the MXR 5150 pedal, but the guts inside is pretty different?
misha has a solid fupa
Is this supposed to be plugged into the front of the amp as this video says or the effects return?
To use it with my pedalboard in front of the house where i put the Apex? at the beginning of the pedalboard or at the end after the delays?
or you can simply run it in the FX loop of your amp and just use the poweramp section. Which is how you'd use preamps normally. Of course you can stack these devices but I don't see the point of using 2 or more EQs in a row.
anyone else think the cab-sim sounds pretty terrible? both here and in the Ola demo.
Sid R. I suggest you try a Mooer Radar for the IR's, It's the best option if you can't use your pc or an effects processor.
Pedal is fantastic, but I agree, that cab-sim is horrid.
Can someone tell me if this will work with a regular line 6 amp? With out a half stack?
Do I need one if I already have a Peavey Invective?
This guy is hilarious, I love it!
I like this guy.
Is the Apex only for clean channel or can it be used on dirty channel? I tried using it on blue channel on my 5150 III, sounded horrible. Tried it on clean channel it was awesome. Apex on clean channel on a high gain amp, kind of makes me mad thinking about it.

Sounds dope great video
If I wanted to use this with a SD powerstage, how would i get a clean tone? Would i have to use another pre amp?
You just bypass it and you'd get a clean tone!
I'm so curious how this sounds with a bass. I really want to do a demo of one.
Best commercials ever!
I love your videos Totally cool!
can i use it with my revvg3?
How good is it at blues?
John Petrucci & Misha Mansoor have used the Dragon Ball earrings for fusion. :)
GIVE US BREEZE
Misha Aprils
Billy Mays
HmMmMmMmM
Is having the apex and the precision drive redundant ?
this is awesome! going to have to wait a little to get this puppy tho!
Alex Markides looks dead insides 😂
Nice beard! I really like it!
If you want, give me this pedal and I'll be very happy to record a demo!
Artyom Yepanyeshnikow tfw you want a free pedal
Why not support him and buy it
On my wish list fo sho.
I just want to say this is a great advertisement.
How can be someone that funny? :D
How does it sound with just a clean amp?
Oh shit, it sounds muddy on here too. That one dude wasn't kidding. To think I almost bought this pedal! Lol. On the flipside, I LOVE my Tokyo Drive! It's a beast!
Anyone know how the Cab Sim reacts when plugging it into an interface then into something like Bias Amp?
Why isn’t the little lick at 0:11 a full song ;(((
That was actually very enjoyable. Me likey
Can Misha sell all gear from now on? thanks
What model Matchless back there?
Can it be used in a similar way to an overdrive? (Drive down and volume up?)
Misha said it himself. Plug the apex straight into the INPUT and not the effects loop. This pedal is the opposite twin of the metalzone cuz the metalzone works best as a preamp and the apex works best as a dist. Pedal
if its a preamp, shouldn't it go in the fx loop...?
Misha is funny 😂😂😂😂 cool device
Hahahahaha!!! I was gonna get one even before this AMAZING video but thank you! :-)
Any excuse to pay tribute to Billy Mays is a good one. :)
i love you misha!

That's Periphery 1 humour right there. Good times...
I was first batch in precision drive and i really want to be first batch for this but Im so broke 😥
Looks aight
Haha! Love this one!
My amp doesn't have an "engage" switch to turn on the preamp
Misha is the new Johnny Demarco
That beard looks hella better than mine
Periphery 4???
Nice Markides cameo
We couldn't help it.
Anyone else get a Fallout feel from this awesome ad?
Ahahah this man is definitely a genius. Seems like a great pedal !
This is why Misha is GREAT...HAHAHAHAHA.
Misha you should hire Saul Goodman for your next ad
Misha is my spirt animal.
