Hi Rich, Looks pretty cold out there. I went party boat fishing two times and it was a mess of tangles. I guess I was spoiled by having a boat in Ocean City of 16 years. Hope you have a good 2022 season. Take care, Mickey
John got a really good shot on that dog. I'm really not the biggest fan of party boat fishing, but I really appreciate it when the captain and crew work their butts off for the fishermen..and the crew of the Osprey was awesome.
January 29th if he has the date open. We would each need to leave a 100 deposit with him then pay the additional 50 + tip the day of. It’s no guarantee but I’m my honest opinion with togging the smaller the boat the better. You can sit on the piece where majority of the time everyone is on structure
Great video! Yea I went on the Osprey a few times this season and 3/4 times we got a discount card bc it was tough fishing smh but love the mates the captain. Great customer service!
@@FatDadFishing awww thanks!! So from a friendly atmosphere/customer service aspect it’s between the Jamaica 2 and Osprey. The mates on both boats are awesome. Ocean Explorer and Big Mohawk will put you on fish but it’s definitely a more competitive atmosphere on those boats. Which boats do you prefer?
I remember fishing with you on the oe. I was hoping to get out with everyone on the phisfinders trip but can’t make it happen now. Hopefully we can get out at somepoint
@@johncreely5721 I know I was so bummed Garrett couldn’t get that one last trip together for the season for PhishPhinders. I’ll definitely try to jump on his couple trips this year though. Tight lines and hope to see you on the water during fluke season.
If you want to do cod I suggest heading to New York and looking into a boat up that way. Cod are hit or miss from jersey down. Not saying it can’t be done, I landed a 14lb on Feb 28th last year on the ocean Explorer but seems to be more successful north
Personally I wouldn't do it. In this case I think it was just easier for John to free up a hand to hold the fish up than to go back to the rail and put the rod in the holder.
So like most rod builders and myself you always try to have a rod in a pic with the fish every so often. Obviously it can be a challenge with bigger fish. That being said that’s the first fish that is a biggin on it. Wanted a pic with the rod and fish together. I don’t recommend it because you can damage your teeth

Great vid Rich! Party boat fishing can be boom or bust imo. That was an awesome shot of the dog coming after the skate!

The mate and I seriously were prepared for a tog on that one. That dog nipped at the skate the whole way up giving it the pump I was looking for.
Great video Rich. It definitely was a rough day. At least John got a decent keeper.
We'll get them next time.....speaking of which...when is next time?
Do you guys wanna spend the extra few bucks and get on the charter at the end of the month?
@@johncreely5721 Not a bad idea. Just depends on the day.

Thanks for checking out the videos. I'm actually binge watching your videos right now! Would be interested in hearing which boats you prefer.

great video Rich. Looking to get out on a party boat for tog or cod soon.

@@johncreely5721 thanks John, I appreciate the intel and will more than likely follow your advise.
👍
Yeah Will. Let me know when you head out..I need to get back out there soon!
@@FatDadFishing Will do Rich, looking for boats that are going out for them.
Why do people take pics with fishing rod in their mouth?
