Getting To The Root Causes Of Why We Are All Tired

  • Twenty to thirty percent of patients visit their primary care physician with the chief complaint of fatigue; they're tired all the time and want to feel better. Unfortunately, conventional medicine rarely allows for physicians to spend enough time with patients to explore the many reasons someone might be experiencing fatigue. Functional Medicine, on the other hand, uses an extensive personal history to look at a patient’s patterns over his or her entire lifetime and connect the dots.
    In this episode, Dr. Hyman sits down with Dr. Elizabeth Boham to discuss the common drivers of fatigue and the Functional Medicine approach to treating it.
    Learn more about The UltraWellness Center’s upcoming “Eliminate To Feel Great” program discussed in this episode at www.ultrawellnesscenter.com/2...
    Elizabeth Boham is a physician and nutritionist who practices functional medicine at The UltraWellness Center in Lenox, MA. Through her practice and lecturing she has helped thousands of people achieve their goals of optimum health and wellness. She witnesses the power of nutrition every day in her practice and is committed to training other physicians to utilize nutrition in healing. Dr. Boham has contributed to many articles and wrote the latest chapter on Obesity for the Rankel Textbook of Family Medicine. She is part of the faculty of the Institute for Functional Medicine and has been featured on the Dr. Oz show and in a variety of publications and media including Huffington Post, The Chalkboard Magazine, and Experience Life. Her DVD Breast Wellness: Tools to Prevent and Heal from Breast Cancer explores the functional medicine approach to keeping your breasts and whole body well

There are others who support her ideas. Many people on Keto diets, once adapted, mention improved and long lasting energy. Acid reflux is often caused by low digestive acid in the stomach, low HCL. I cured my acid reflux forever by taking an HCL supplement before eating. It works! Now I only need it occasionally, like once a month

    As ideal as this sounds, it will not be accepted by the medical community as a whole. When you treat more patients over shorter visits, you earn more money. Also, there are not enough physicians in this world to provide functional medicine to everyone.

    • @kayoss2306
      @kayoss2306 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If everyone in the world knew about functional medicine, less people would need doctors in the first place. We could prevent people from developing disease and we could fix the root cause and actually cure chronic disease. There would be less money in medicine. So the change won't come from the medical industry. The health revolution has to come from the people, and with all the information now available on the internet, I think this will be possible.

    Should the cause of chronic fatigue be sought in physical medicine ... or perhaps on a spiritual level?
    Holistic medicine without a spiritual aspect is an oxymoron of zero value.
    You are similar to those who put a reference about the Neanderthals diet in the sentence which ends with the phrase "... but thanks God "
    Let's talk about irony as a fourth macronutrient ... and thanks for watching.
