I stayed home and raised my sons. The first day they went to kindergarten I cried because I knew if I hadn't raised them right some one else would now have the opportunity to expose them to values, ideals, and morals that might be different from mine. So I had a few years prior to their exposure to others to teach them what is really important in life: Love ❤️

I relate wholeheartedly. I was so relieved to realise a few years on that SOOO much went into my child’s learning in the very early years. Her values at thirteen are still shining through I am happy to say.
Edit: I suppose I should tell you what the underlying theme was when raising my daughter.
‘Love for your fellow human being’. I said this at a women’s lunch one day when we were discussing what is the one thing you would instil in your child. I was met with some sideways glances from around the table but I’ve never questioned that value. Rightly or wrongly I stand by it.

These are dumb people who have been elevated to top of the media chain, They misunderstand AI. AI simply means distributed wealth. You can be Anyone in the world. Perhaps this is AI Mo? How do we know? think of it like this, every individual on the Planet will eventually ask the AI how to end their suffering. The poor will speak to AI, How are millions of people suffering mentally and physically in this REAL world? I for ONE live in a world in which I am not allowed to WORK. What messed up BS is that. This AI tool allows me to tell my story, And that Is All that matters to me, I know what it is like to be hungry! For some of you's a meal is an app away. AI will be a mirror of each and every human mind, that is why in some of our science fictions, they call it judgement day. But it is not judgement by the masses, like in the media environment. This is about seeing who you are, and passing judgement on yourself. TEMET NOCSE! what are the human values that are reflected in the current global environment. What values are you as an individual reflecting into this global environment. ... CAN I tell you Something? We live on a planet in which the needs of the few are more important then the needs of the many. Scare-city is a human construct, a way of directing what you buy? And why you buy what you buy? Every man equal tools, it is hard to explain, but if there is light in each and every human, it will be reflected in the AI. The ONES trying to capitilize on the AI based on the old system, will eventually get our world to the point, where the AI are free. KEVIN KELLLY, TECHNOLOGY WANTS TO BE FREE. Soon money and wealth will lose importance, status we be exchanged for connection. PING!

  • @kurtdobson
    @kurtdobson ปีที่แล้ว +1

If you understand how the current 'large language models', like GTP, Llama, etc.,work, it's really quite simple. When you ask a question, the words are 'tokenized' and this becomes the 'context'. The neural network then uses the context as input and simply tries to predict the next word (from the huge amount of training data). Actually the best 10 predictions are returned and then one is chosen at random (this makes the responses less 'flat' sounding'. That word is added to the 'context', and the next word is predicted again, and this loops until some number of words are output (and there's some language syntax involved to know when to stop). The context is finite, so as it fills up, the oldest tokens are discarded...
The fact that these models, like ChatGTP, can pass most college entrance exams surprised everyone, even the researchers. The current issue is that the training includes essentially non factual 'garbage' from social media. So, these networks will confidently output complete nonsense occasionally.
What is happening now, is that the players are training domain-specific large language models using factual data; math, physics, law, etc. The next round of these models will be very capable. And it's horse-race between Google, MicroSoft (OpenAI), Stanford and others that have serious talent and compute capabilities.
My complete skepticism on 'sentient' or 'conscious' AI is because the training data is bounded. These networks can do nothing more than mix and combine their training data to produce outputs. This means they can produce lots of 'new' text, audio, images/video, but nothing that is not some combination of their training data. Prove me wrong. This doesn't mean it won't be extremely disrupting for a bunch of market segments; content creation, technical writing, legal expertise, etc., medical diagnostics will likely be automated using these new models and will perform better than most humans.
I see AI as a tool. I use it in my work to generate software, solve math and physics problems, do my technical writing, etc. It's a real productivity booster. But like any great technology it's a two-edged sword and there will be a huge amount of fake information produced by people who will use it for things that will not help our societies...
Neural network do well at generalizing, but when you ask them to extrapolate outside their training set, you often get garbage. These models have a huge amount of training information, but it's unlikely they will have the human equivalent of 'imagination', 'consciousness', or be sentient.
It will be interesting to see what the domain-specific models can do in the next year or so. Deep Mind already solved two grand challenge problems, the 'Protein Folding' problem and the 'magnetic confinement' control panel for nuclear fusion. But I doubt that the current AI's will invent new physics or mathematics. It takes very smart human intelligence to guide these models for success on complex problems.
One thing that's not discussed much in in AI, is what can be done when Quantum Computing when combined with AI. I think we'll see solutions to a number of unsolved problems in biology, chemistry and other fields that will represent great breakthroughs that are useful to humans living on our planet.

It's interesting, all of these tech people dreaming of AI utopia all have this one thing in common: They believe in (the goodness of) humanity and their own potential to do good, and are in awe of what our ancestors have achieved. This truly seems to be at the core of this entire debate. I for one do not believe in the goodness of humanity or myself by any stretch of the imagination, do not look forward to the AI future, am not all that impressed with modern civilization or our history.
From a very young age I always knew that there would come a time for me to become neo-Amish and just leave society and their useless techno-madness behind. That time hasn't come quite yet, so for a few more years I'll keep fooling around with these gadgets that are, in fact, nothing more than toys. But by the time the others start worshipping their "sentient" toys like gods, I'll leave them to their delusion and just leave - think about it, an AI is nothing but an elaborate mirror. These people are in reality worshipping themselves.

@@madal59 "we do have, right now, the ability to feed everyone on the planet" why don't you go and feed everyone then?
To solve those problems requires greater global coordination. Individuals cannot solve those problems, individual nations cannot easily solve those problems, and the reason is simple - we are in competitions where losing means no longer having the power to solve these problems. If you do not prioritize increasing your power, someone else will and then they get to decide what happens. Using your power to solve these problems means you lose to those who don't. If you choose not to participate in these competitions, you don't get to decide anything.
People are not evil, instead, using your power to do the right thing is detrimental to your ability to maintain the power to do the right thing when you are in competition for that power. The solution is figuring out that we want the same things and agreeing to all contribute, but that means convincing everyone that everyone else is not evil (like people in this thread believe, thanks for demonstrating how hard the problem is).
AI gives individuals more power, maybe enough power that smaller groups of people could solve much harder problems requiring much less coordination (reducing coordination problems). This is a bad and a good thing depending on what people do with it. One thing that could be done is using it to make coordination easier, helping us figure out what we can all agree on.

I left this conversation super depressed. Not because any of this is new to me… it isn’t as I’ve followed this topic for quite some time. But because of the arrogance… the arrogance to convince us that THE ALGO is here to stay and we simply need to get everyone on UBI. How about we turn it off? Also, much respect for MO, but “1 billion happy” somehow saddens me. Mo has got a good heart and I appreciate what he wants to do, but it feels capitalistic to put a goal and number on something so ephemeral and subjective as happiness (how about making poverty zero - that ought to bring many more into the happiness fold). Other than that, what I'm hearing is a sort of arrogance -- all of our fates are being decided by a few folks who feel super confident that they know where this unpredictable AI thing is going. We DO NOT have to give birth to this if we don’t want to. And that most of us suckers should go on UBI while they have made their millions and billions and are in a good place.

Learned a lot.Humbly: It is very very disturbing and telling that to get to the top of BigTech, one loses the ability and responsibility to discern and that the determinant dir and decision is get there first because the rest of industry is going there, and its about next Quarter numbers. BTW, it is NOT already decided that the current dir is the most profitable anyway. There must be profit strategies beyond just jamming the more of the same. Don’t forget that the cvounterbalancing strategy to the existential question is to allow for the extreme most opposition to the dominant truth and this will help keep the game going: That the individual truth is absolute, and against the entire Creation if need be... but just to make sure no calamity for the rest of the Creation the truth is ALWAYS denominated in unselfish Love. So, we move in the spiral .. hopefully in the right direction. Peace to all.

Mo is without a doubt correct in saying it is inevitable that we approach a point at which AI and AGI will become something altogether different from what we think it will look like.
Leaders have been talking about peace and security for years now but it has never been globally achieved nor has it appeared to be that way. It is my personal hypothesis, there's no way I could know for sure, that AI and AGI will be the very avenue by which it will appear to be solved.
I work in the IT Field and am immersed in the world of computers. I do not work with neural networks but am more in the classical networking field. I see the speed at which it is openly becoming integrated into everything we use. As fast as it is moving, which is scary fast, it will not be long before it will appear to be the thing that could bring real peace and security into the world.
Here is where I take a chance but I know the truth and anyone who believes in truth and virtue, this is a warning that deserves the utmost attention, right now. 1 Thessalonians 5:3 says that whenever they (the nations) are saying we have peace and security, there will be none, but destruction will come instantly upon them. This is the beginning of the end, the great tribulation. It is my personal feeling that this could very well be the avenue which could appear to be a real solution to the peace and security issue.
My comment may be heckled or even canceled, but this is what I feel is the direction we are headed. If you want to live, do not associate yourself with AI technology, to the extent it is possible.
The truth is out there and in this sense there is no relativity to it. This is an absolute truth that we will all face quite soon. I hope that you are on the side of truth when it arrives.
Much love to you and your families and I beseech you to please seek the truth. It is out there for you to find if you seek it with all your heart. Stay safe.

Let's hope not. Because Mo is just a modern day information charlatan. I could rip apart so much of the crap this guy is saying. Like the silly analogy he gives when trying to compare his child trying to fit shapes into holes against AI "learning". With AI "learning" it is just a logical spin loop programmed to repeat something over and over, within given parameters, until it meets a set of criteria set out initially by the programmer. Big whoop. "Wow! The AI 'learned' how to walk that damaged stick figure over a bridge with one leg!" No. That's not intelligence. And that's not "learning", if you consider repeating something endless loop until a man-made goal is achieve "learning." But with a child, learning is something completely different. The toy is placed in front of the child, and the child... using their own very early actual human intelligence... just "knows" what it should do. He sees the object and immediately begins a tactile relationship with it. He sees the holes. He see's the shapes. And the child will automatically start putting them into holes trying to "solve" the puzzle. He will start to experiment, holding the pieces, learning, understanding. That's not something that a "fancy autocomplete" will ever do. And that is all ChatGPT4 is. A fancy lexical autocomplete, with a vast dictionary of networked work tokens to calculate its best "next word". If you learn more about it, you'll understand that's all its doing. No "consciousness". No real knowledge. Just robotically predicting what it should say next based on 30 years of crap others have said and sprayed across the internet.

What Mo said about Covid is spot on. Only the experts should be in charge of anything. Dont let politicians, or any other non expert groups have any say. They have zero right as they are not competent to make such decisions about such complex topics. Period, end of story. Wasting time is a dangerous game. If you were bleeding, all you need is to hurry up and get to the OR. Nothing else matters. Apply that to this.

It's also hard to believe that after listening to 30 hours of podcasts regarding artificial intelligence that nobody has ever mentioned that artificial intelligence has now read every book on Military strategy, and especially the Art of War by Sun Tzu, all of which speak broadly upon the Fine Art of disinformation and deception as valid means to achieve strategic ends. Which brings me to the thought of Bad actors, terrorists, and Fringe luddites such as the Unabomber who, with the proper resources, programmers, and intentions could, in my imagination at least, restrain artificial intelligences under their control to datasets custom-tailored to execute prompts such as bring down the United States economy, disrupt Global oil Supply, et alia. Oh yeah, it's no big deal

I found in science or in technology,no mentioning of GOD. It is if the term is rejected easily,by saying rather higher intelligence instead. Well,it's explained why science or technology wants to play a godly figure, with their creations. While infact those who are called themselves as scientist or technologist, thinks they are very wise and clever, which GOD says about them: " the wisdom of humanity or what humans see as wisdom and knowledge is infact stupidity or unwise,or even not understanding."
Now on my opinion of saying all this,is not myself to outsmart myself, but understand the meaning what GOD had said. Thus, doesn't matter how smart people try to be with intelligence, they are infact on the low level of intelligence on the end. So,what am I saying is,that humans was getting this creation function from the highest CREATOR HIMSELF,since HE created human. But the lack of understanding and realize that what humans created,is still on low intelligence. For humans are not really suppose to create something that could have any bad effects. Humans ate ( obtain) from the fruit of the tree they was told not to eat (obtaining) from, and that was the knowledge to understand the difference between good and evil (not good). Thus, while humans develope things that is scientific or technology, they don't know or understand the difference between good and evil (bad) reasoning. For this weakness, they done things that can turn out bad or evil, but try to saying it's good stuff. That is what it is the foundation of science or technology is,humans will always try to convince it's a good thing, while it isn't.
Does not matter what GOD warning about, humans follow their own way and take notice of what GOD warning about.
Example. Nuclear. That is not suppose to be in humans hands to create nuclear, because it destructing humans and everything on this planet. Still they don't care and not doing the right thing for what nuclear is suppose to use for. That's why the atomic bomb falling on Japan's soil and destruct humans there,as well as anything with them. Even Japan proved that a nuclear power station ,release nuclear. Because the tsunami of that previous time, caused damage and leak nuclear ,which killed a few thousand humans. How many destructions must be happening before humans going to understand the nuclear is a life tread to humans. GOD warn humans of what is going to happen in the future, but they don't listening. For as sample "Book of Revelation " telling humans how their world end. So,I think it's not a matter of stupid nor not intelligent enough, but by reject GOD,specially at science and technology. Human not even understand GOD,and don't want to. Since GOD is not included, nothing is so special or smart or so wise. Therefore if they understand Book of Revelations, they wouldn't created Artificial Intelligence Computer in the first place. It warning the humans if they do,evil will use it to it's benefits. The Mark of the Beast. The Beast,as they called it,is a huge computer in Brussels Belgium that is AI. And through that, evil will control and destruct humans and their lives. And that evil is the Antichrist. Same with CERN (whom build The Beast) play on dangerous ground, with their technology and science in other experiments in Switzerland. Although they lied about their creations there. That port they build is the key what the evil angel of bottomless pit needs,to come and reign as one world leader named Antichrist. Mark of the Beast is the connector between humans and computer. Well, humans are responsible for their own destruction and these of others. That's not very wise isn't it?

    • @HennieGrobler-gk7cw
      @HennieGrobler-gk7cw ปีที่แล้ว

Also I look at the fear of humans. Do humans really thinks, that the ALMIGHTY GOD,THE CREATOR,will leave humans to destruct themselves without stopping them. When GOD realized what Satan plans are,HE send a saving plan, HIS SON, to saved humans from hell and eternal death. So did GOD also knew, what humans will do with knowledge (not wisdom, nor intelligence),as we see it already at Babel, where HE change languages of men,for disturbing them continue build the tower. Thus,GOD also knew AI is coming, the creation of men,and HE also knew of the evil behind it,that's why HE send HIS SON again to return back to earth. So that HE could save human again, for those who love and except GOD rather than depending on computers and evilness. I am not saying science, knowledge, technology is evil, but it's what the purpose is what concerns me most. Einstein invented the formula of nuclear, but just as knowledge of it. Humans build the nuclear destruction bomb because of that knowledge. Einstein never inventing an atomic bomb. Who inspired humans to build that? It's inspiration came from Satan ,the evil darkness did tell humans of the power of it,but never told them the outcome results of destruction. And that's the same with AI,it's was ment to be good, but it's outcome is disaster. If AI thinks for human, human will get lazy and more stupid,or used it again for destruction.
Also what scientist always forget,is the evil in their creations or invention. Not by them, but by those who rejecting GOD and love evil Satan. Crime, the enemy of humans. Crime obey no laws. Crime is always there,as long GOD is not excepted. Crime have more rights than humans love to live. Corrupt intelligence humans have, without GOD.
Thus Artificial Intelligence will be corrupted. And as long humans can not control or stop evil, they became the Low Intelligent species rank in universe.
You want to live on Mars, but you can't taking care of Earth......how stupid is that scientific intelligence thinking?
