Had a 2013 V40 D4 for 10 years now (since new), I've put 165k miles on it and absolutely adore that car. Best car I have ever owned and never had any issues in 165k miles comfortably cruising up and down the motorway. Very happy to be picking up my new (to me) car, one of these 3.0 T6 V60 Polestar in a few days. I cannot wait! Been longing for one for nearly a decade!!!
I'm really not a Volvo fan, but I think this is a really good video! Car Throttle is really a fun, versatile quality channel. If you can keep my attention when driving a Volvo, you're doing something right as a presenter. Keep it up!

I always loved Volvo for what they do especially the 850R, V70R and Polestar. Now that they are going all hybrid and electric by 2020, we should keep enjoying the famous turbo 5-cylinder they made as we might not have that opportunity anymore.

If Top Gear made this video, they'd likely say "I just don't think I could ever rationalize spending that much on a Volvo. You never hear anyone braging about their brand new Volvo".

Well, S60 R owners do. They went the route Audi should’ve by putting the 5 cylinder turbo in everything. Meanwhile Audi was stuffing horrid V6’s into their S4’s.

It’s our version of the Audi RS2 Avant and new era of it, but Volvo version. It’s identical to the RS2 and basically the same 0-60 and almost the same top speed.
Why NOT have a Volvo V60 RR Polestar, with AWD and the S60 Polestar 508Hp motor in it Mr.Volvo, THAT would be a riot! :)

The only setback at this point is the price. But if you think this car gets delivered with every possible option for that price.. it's ok. Get an audi S4, BMW 335i and put a few options on those, you'll get to that pricepoint as well probably

volvo is almost up there with bmw, audi, merc..., design wise i LOVE it (expect the tail lights on the estate) only a bummer that it's FWD (yess i know the audi is FWD also) love the polestar but then again i prefer RWD but still it's verry nice
*4WD. FWD is usually used for Front Wheel Drive.

If a car is RWD it doesn't mean is a car made for drifting, let it be AWD or FWD because you have a much better handling then, you don't believe me ? take 2 cars, a bmw and a FWD volvo, both with same weight and same power and see wich one will finish first./
btw , volvo is already up there but most of them people don't open their eyes to see the truth , they still think that vws with them chek engine light on are the best with their GTI, screw them with their plastic and low quality cars, screw MB especially the new A klasse that looks like the new v40, bmw who gets uglyer as the time passes and audi with vw engines and low quality as well, German cars are not so reliable,the only German car wich is reliable is MB wich is damn expensive and something you mustn't forget, safety first, the safest cars ? hmm I guess Volvos, then Volvo is the best !

It's both of those things but also part of the radar cruise system. Saved my wife's life a few weeks back when she got cut off by some moron on the highway. It applied the brakes and he plowed into someone else instead leaving our v60 t6 rdesign undamaged as well. Wouldn't drive a car without this feature again

I've been looking on youtube for vids reviewing the v60 polestar as mine is due to arrive at the end of March (why do I have to wait so long?)
I'm already a volvo fan though.... I'm not sure it will be THAT different from my 11 year old diesel s40 right? lol

Please, go with that out of here, I'm getting blind because of too many check engine lights, everywhere I go and look in every car service , I see 50% VWs and 40% Audis so let us because here we're talking about real cars, not German cheap cars ;)
btw, audi interiors suck, I won't drive an audi because it's a VAG car, every VAG is low quality at a high price for me, oh and let's not forget about reliability wich is something unknown on the VAG group, no VAG cars are in the top 10 most reliable cars , safety ? no, audi has no chance ! neither MB, bmw and all of them cars

Yeah, I had a 97' audi a4 and I worked on a MB vito and I can say both are cr@p the audi was a huge disaster, the car was ok, no damage, no accident but poor quality, I knew every mechanic then because I went in car services with it a lot, niw I have a 97' volvo v40 wich is a beauty and the best car till 2000 when s80 came out you don't know what a volvo can do! Shut up, and about the MB, the interior sucks on older models, gearbox? Damn it's like driving an old Dacia, to shift in 2nd gear in that is an art, damn! And I drove a 2000 E klasse and It has a bad quality interior not so comfortablebas my v40 but it was pretty ok, last time I saw that car was in a service because of an engine failure or sth like that. When I hear about German cars is like hearing low quality ans poor design, such a "cold" interior you can find on VAG cars, look at BMW same interiors since 2005 and the bmw i3 wich I can say is a kind of fiat multipla mixed with toyota prius and smart fortwo.
Cristi Ursu I agree with u on the 97' A4, but the new Audi's have DSG gearboxes which are amazing for fast shifting and improve economy, Audi has come a long way from 97' you're info is way to old, i never said Volvo was a bad car i just prefer German cars much more, and todays Audi, Mercedes and BMW have a great quality interior and don't brake down so often as back then. An S6 C7 is way faster than any Volvo and i don't count any overturned models with 900hp

I'd buy it. It's better looking that the BMW's or the hideous Audi's, and it's different. Also the kind of person that would buy this isn't going to look at the R8 or GTR, as they would need something practical...

It's a matter of opinions, I personally hate Audi's, the only Audi I'd ever even consider is the 80's Quattro. The Polestar would also be more exclusive.
