Are you saying the S pin and the A pin will have constant 12v. I'm seeing vids where they are hooking up the trickle charger to the A pin. Are they both good?
There may be some towing vehicles where the wiring to the 7-pin connector is different. This setup is what I've typically seen. When using this specific Hopkin's plug with a 7 pin to 6 pin cable coming from a 2018 Ford E450, only the S pin should have a constant 12v. The A pin should only get power when the E450 is put into Reverse. You could hook up a 7-pin to six pin connector cable to your towing vehicle and use a multimeter to verify which pin coming from the towing vehicle is always powered and which pin only gets power when the towing vehicle is put into reverse.
