Honestly, Edge of Time was my first Spider-Man game as well as the first game that I’ve actually beat as a kid, and I honestly still love the game to this day.

Shattered Dimensions was my first Spider-Man game, but I’ve always been interested in trying Edge of Time. Even if it isn’t as good.

same lmao I remember it I got a see through 2DS for my first device and came with it was edge of time and it always holes a place in my heart
Miguel's character is not about being a dick head who's kinda interested in saving other people but just cares about himself. Miguel looks at the big picture, and if not saving one person would lead to more people getting saved in the long run he would not save that person. Peter, on the other hand, would save that person regardless of the circumstances and the consequences and try to figure out how to save everyone else. Peter tries to make Miguel understand that every life is valuable. Kinda like the "we don't trade lives" in the MCU, but better.
In acts 2 and 3 there are incredible set pieces and additions to the lore.
Edge of time is a very good game.
I never understood "we don't trade lives". You're letting villains continue to murder hundreds to thousands of people. 1 for 1 is the only time it makes sense, which usually is not how super villains work

"When im around, nobody dies"...
Sure he didnt always live up to it but he tried his HARDEST to save everyone and sets himself to a high standard
When time goes back to normal she would still be alive anyway, Peter is an idiot in this game.
One thing I like is some of the background details you can find in the CEO's office showing newspaper stories of some great tragedy with massive casualties in the past at central park which lead to the disappearance of Spider-Man and likely the reason Peter became so deranged in the future.
This story was done by the original 2099 comic writer, and he said the twist of the CEO's identity was meant to be used in the comics before that whole storyline went off the rails. So whether Peter was always the CEO of alchemax in this history or he became him because of Sloan travelling back is interesting to ponder.
I believe the latter, Peter being a genius probably helped go up the ranks or Sloan could had formed a mentorship with Pete, choosing him as his successor.
Best story we ever got for a Spider-Man game. Shattered Dimensions 2 would've been GROUND BREAKING if Beenox had time😭
I didn't know Peter Parker as the Alchemax CEO was originally intended for the 2099 comics. That's really cool. I know Peter David also intended for Goblin 2099 to be Father Jennifer, but that reveal was bongled when he left the comics. He ended up doing that reveal decades later when he wrote the newer 2099 series.

Peter David did a great job writing this games story he authentically wrote both versions of Spider-Man really well especially since he created Miguel O'Hara Spider-Man 2099

As a kid, Atrocity scared the shit out of me. That part when you're locked with IT in a circular corridor and you have to lock it up and insert syringes in him, I was fucking SCARED for my LIFE. And also proud when I finally got through it.

its because activision wanted them to pump out spider-man games every year, so they had no time for a shattered dimensions 2 and had to make a spin off that reused assets from shattered dimensions lol. still not a game as bad as web of shadows

Nah, it really doesn't. It was a MASSIVE step down from Shattered Dimensions. It's not the worst Spidey game but it should have been MUCH better.

Funny story, the voice actor for 2099 in SD is also the voice actor for Bumblebee in the original Transformers cartoon
You actually did it lol, while I do disagree with it being overrated, I do understand where everyone else was coming from, with how the game could had better, especially with less keys, but it didn't bother me at all.
But almost everyone else does agree on, how the story was phenomenal and the dialogue between the two Spider-Men was hilarious, while also carrying the story.

One thing I wonder about this game is wether Peter feels bad about killing Eddie in this game. Like he was under mind control and regained control later on but still I wonder why he didn't think to try to save him. Unless by destroying Atrocity, he seperates them and it's mentioned in game.
According to Miguel, destroying the portal undid everything, so technically, Anti Venom never became atrocity to begin with.
From memory Miguel theorized that pushing Atrocity into the time gate in a reversed state would undo it by defusing Anti-Venom, Doc Oc and Sloan and that also would stop the time storm or whatever was part of Atrocity too... and since everything was undone by the destruction of the gate Eddie probably never attacked Peter because there was no Sloan to mind control him nor was there an Alchemax in the heroic age.

Both Shattered Dimentions and Edge of Time were games that I loved to play on the Wii, and they are also the reason why 2099 is my favorite spider-man. I agree that the 2nd act of this game is bad, but I liked it overrall. That was an amazing editting, though.

It's a shame they had to rush the game as hard as they did, since I think it was a pretty cool idea to link Peter and Miguel like that. The collectable newspapers gave hints of how the worlds changed, and I wish we could've explored those changes in the game proper. I also liked how the game handled its post-game content via bonus cheat codes instead of DLC.
I am so glad your back and I Dugri the first part of the game should have ended right there the story was interesting at first but yeah that's my opinion and keep making more videos man I do understand editing take the very long time ☺️

I personally love this game even more than Shattered Dimensions, granted it might be because of nostalgia since I played this first but whatever, I still really like the gameplay/combat, I enjoy the story, I really like the sections where Peter or O’Hara got into some kind of danger like when O’Hara was being poisoned or when Peter was in a human-pancake making machine they felt exactly what this game was like, a race against time, you have to rush to get where/ do what you need or the other Spidey dies, they always had me a bit stressed because I thought I was just barely gonna miss it and so when I made it, it felt kind of rewarding and relieving even when I would try to take shortcuts like when Peter has to dismantle a robot that’s crushing O’Hara in the future and in my most recent playthroughs I usually try to avoid the enemies instead of fighting them since it feels like if I focus on them then O’Hara will be dead before I can destroy the robot, but the absolute star of the show was easily Peter and O’Hara themselves, this game is why O’Hara is my favorite non-Peter Spider-Man no matter how awesome Miles is, their dynamic was very enjoyable from bickering every second at first and always calling each other by their last names to then getting along and calling each other by their first names and overall really doing the characters justice which I guess should be expected when Josh Keaton and Christopher Daniel Barnes are playing them (seriously Barnes is now officially the voice I hear when reading a comic with 2099 in it) which I’m kinda glad for mainly for O’Hara when that isn’t what happened with Shattered Dimensions, easily my favorite line in the game being “O’Hara if you can’t understand that I can’t turn my back on danger, no matter what the cost, then you’ve got no business calling yourself Spider-Man”, now that’s stuff I like to hear from Peter (edit: Okay maybe not easily my favorite line since there’s a variation of it later that I could also say that when Peter says “What’s important is not standing by, allowing people to suffer or die because you do nothing! If you don’t get that, then you don’t get the first thing about being Spider-Man”)

edge of time was pretty much my introduction to spiderman as much as i can remember, seeing as a wandered around as a clueless child with my nintendo 3ds and edge of time on it. Loved it, but wasn't able to beat it lmao so just played around with 3 saves for 2 years

The story is as complicated as any-other story that has time travel.
The game is very fun and has great graphics not to mention all the suits you can unlock. It’s a great Spiderman to me I think it’s over-hatted.

Atrocity reminds me of the final mission from the original Spider-Man game for PS1 and N64. But in that game it was Carnage who ended up combining with Dr octopus to become a freak of nature. I would love to see that versus atrocity

For its time, the Edge of Time had a fantastic 3DS port, almost the game code-for-code, a rare occurance. Shame Beenox didn't continue with this line of games and got sent to movie-tie-in hell by Actiblizz.
