Hey, Chris, are you going to grade the season? I'm just curious. BTW, I'm probably older than your Mom, maybe, and I loved this season. I agree with you, we don't want too much of a good thing, but it was Good! I'm looking forward to the next season, at some point. Finally, I found the timing of the hit piece quite suspect. Thanks for all that you do for us!
What struck me strongly was how Gary talked about the women. Other bachelors talk about how good the women look, how pretty, their nice smiles, but Gary would talk of how their smiles lit up the room, how their eagerness gave him motivation, how he admired their strength and positivity. It was beyond refreshing.
except the truth is that he threw out his last live in GF after she gained 10 pounds. that's all a load of huey. He played the game and sure sounded great.
I think because of the rushed nature of the filming that it chopped the numbers down to allow him to focus on just a few. Other seasons drag it out and have too many huge group dates.
I don't agree; he did something different by coming back to tell Leslie ahead of any rose ceremony. In my opinion she complains too much. But I guess he did say a few too many I love you's and "I think you're the one" along the way.
He started pissing me off as soon as he told multiple women he was in love.. People have been DRAGGED for doing that in the past! Glad Leslie didn't let it slide!
I feel like the controversial ending just proves that the Bachelor is necessarily a show that hurts people and puts even good leads into impossible circumstances
Good leads until they lie about being with anyone before the show and telling multiple people you love them and "you're the one, you're my girl" only to dump them at the end for the one that makes more money.
What production doesn’t realize is that of course we love a pinch of drama every now and then but when we see human connection and LOVE, it provides us with something so watchable that it’s hard to explain 😅
Fun season. Short episodes, not gaslighting contestants, or us. It was great. I doubt Gerry or Teresa will be popping up as influencers. So I would say the rest of this is between them now.
I wouldn't be surprised if Gary omitting his resume and previous relationship was a choice by production to be totally honest. They knew it would play better with their narrative if he had been single since his wife passing and he can't speak on it because of the NDA.
We have to develop a connection with, and get to know the lead/contestants, to make it worth rooting for when drama hits! That's what the Golden Bachelor did well. Everyone, as portrayed on the season, was worth supporting. Production didn't have to make villains for once.
But these women will cash out as well, they got tv fame and very good image. Why do everyone thinks that only young people can be influencers? There is an older audience and market these ladies can influence 😊 Good for them!
I agree, all women can… but most mature women aren’t interested in watching + working a small screen 24/7 for a coin. Most r interested in love w/the added perk of worldwide TV fame.
I totally agree with your assessment. Also, I read those articles about Gerry’s alleged past and didn’t know what to make of them. But my thoughts now are, if Theresa trusts him, then that’s all that matters.
This season really was brilliant. The last season of the bachelor I watched was Matt James, and the last bachelorette I watched was Katie Thurston. This show brought me back to the franchise. I loved golden bachelor!
I applied to be on the show before the lockdowns. I told them I realized that I was out of their age range. However, they need to have a show for us older people because we need love too! Around 5-6 months went by and low & and behold, the "Senior edition" was announced, I couldn't believe it! But then covid and production came to a halt. Now post covid, and here we are! Sure, it could have been a coincidence. However, why did they keep the same format for all those years? And then months after I give them the idea they go and do it? Sure, we'll just say that, but I know this was all me! I don't want any money or fame, just maybe a thank you, and let you know that I am so happy that even though I did not get picked that I can help others find love, or at least hope
I absolutely loved this season. I couldn't wait to watch it each week. I hope there is a golden Bachelorette 😊. I loved the fact that when someone was picked for a one on one, the rest of the women supported her. I loved the fact that Susan did Theresa's hair the day of her date. It's wholesome and I love it ❤
Many good points. About the quiet moment at the beginning indicating this would have a more gentle nature. Like at the end about the older women really wanting a relationship rather than to enter world of "influencing." Interesting to see you think this 72 year old man helped save the franchise; that's cool.
Honestly, I wish they would bring back the Listen to Your Heart idea or maybe something similar. It was kinda cheesy at first, but I ended up really liking it! It was similar yet different enough to make it feel like a fresh take on the Bachelor franchise.
The biggest problem with LTYH was the idea that you could find your life partner AND a musical partner all wrapped up into one. It's hard to find either, let alone both, and on a TV reality show where everyone is in their 20s and 30s, it's next to impossible. I'm a musician and I have been there (except for the reality TV part).
THR had receipts. Hospital notes, the woman’s primary address was the same as his for 2020, interviews with mutual friends, former coworkers. She claimed they started dating one month after his wife passed, which THR received text messages from Gerry to her phone confirming. Plus he’s dodging the question instead of taking the opportunity to clear up his side of the story. I loved this season but these allegations make it hard to love him or the season in retrospect.
Actually, not for me. This is kinda par for the course. He is 72 years old, of course he had skeletons in his closet. The timing seems like sour grapes 🍇. This could have come out even a year ago, 6 months, they wait until the week or 2 before the finale?? The ex girlfriend is now suspect too. She wants revenge and to hurt him.
@@mommynab Or maybe the ex, who left him, btw, is a decent person, and doesn't want to sit back with crucial information while Theresa gets taken to the cleaners and has her life ruined by Gerry. If Theresa's cool with the truth about Gerry, then she can just carry on.
@@vanillaghetto He was married to his wife for 45 years, and this alleged relationship was less than 2 years, yet you think he just goes around ruining women's lives. Logic and mathematics would say otherwise LOL
Below is my full assessment of this situation and Gerry’s season - it’s long, so be prepared if you decide to read it. Thanks Bachelor Fantake for your amazing videos! Hope your wife and kids are doing well!! I truthfully don’t find anything wrong with valuing certain aspects of a person and their life in romantic relationships (i.e. financial security or physical chemistry, for example). If it was a woman who was at the end and started to show more interest in the guy that seemed more financially secure, yeah, there’d be a lot of people calling her a gold digger for sure. But I think most people would understand why that’s important for some people and not necessarily hold that against her. Yeah, his reaction to hearing that Theresa had money seemed…a little sus maybe, but we don’t know how much of that was editing. Gerry seemed to have connections with both women. It was likely more than money that changed his mind and made him sure about Theresa, but regardless, he chose the person he wanted. I don’t love that he led someone else on in the process, but I’m sorry, dude is still 10x better than Peter, Clayton, literally any other bachelor pick in years. Doesn’t mean he can’t be criticized for his slip ups - I just think people should be fair in their assessments of this season and Gerry’s choices. What really bothers me is the whole lying about past relationships since his wife died. Granted, again, we don’t know how much was bachelor editing, but some of his comments on the show (“I haven’t kissed anyone in 7 years” or something along those lines) were straight lies, and that’s what bothers me most. I don’t love the allegations about his behavior in past relationships either, but without us seeing the proof of that woman’s change of address being Gerry’s address for those two years, or proof of her claims before the reunion (fat shaming), I hesitate to just take anyone at their word, on either side of this. I’ll refrain from passing judgement unless more comes out to support the allegations or disprove them. At the end of the day, it just reminded me that even a seemingly lovely man “with a heart of gold” may not be what they’ve been edited to look like on a show all about ratings. We all fell for a character and are now upset that his real life persona is different, which to be honest, is slightly on us. We’ve seen too many of these seasons to fall for this anymore lol!
That last part though. This season was a great show that made some great TV for a few months. But that’s the extent of what it was: a show. I’m glad two people seem to have found love at the end, but that’s really more of a nice side effect of the format of the show rather than a guarantee or what it’s really about. You’re totally right that it’s about ratings and nothing else. All the people shown to us the audience were characters edited and spliced together to get the best ratings. Obviously who all these people are in real life is different. I don’t understand why people would be mad at the lead just because they fell for the magic of editing at this point in time 😂
Bro the journalists had confirmed texts, jospital recepits, and proof of address from the woman. Of course they cant publish it bc then the women's identity would be revealed, but if you read the article carefully you see that they had verified all those documents. It's illegal to lie about document verification---why would Hollywood wire risk getting sued over this?? There is not much nuance--he was pretty emotionally abusive and treated his ex HORRIBLY, so we should NEVER make excuses for a man or individual for that matter who we have PROOF they were horrible
@@SandsCassie But its not a little discrepancy. It's the difference between a caring, honest, gentleman, vs a douchebag manipulator who emotionally abused his ex. That's completely valid to be angry over. Bachelor franchise needs to be far more thorough when choosing the lead.
It was his lies. Said he closed his restaurant and retired. He closed that burger stand in 1985. Bought that dream home. He said that since he retired he has done volunteer work to give back to his community. He fixed hot tubs for pay. That's not volunteering. Then he became a maintenance man for pay. Not for his community. Now, with that big home on the water he needs money, obviously. He never once told Teresa he loved her until she told him what she did for a living and suddenly he was love-bombing her. Teresa is desperate and blinded by his bullshit.
@@Feliciathegoat676I don’t disagree that the bachelor franchise should be more thorough about choosing their leads. They should be thorough regarding all contestants as we’ve seen so many problematic people before get to the end or be allowed to hurt others because they weren’t vetted properly like Jed, or the girl that spread the rumor about Brittany being an escort, and so forth. But again, we don’t know if these allegations are true or not yet. And if they are, then he’s probably a garbage person, but if they aren’t, then everyone owes the guy a huge apology. I’d rather not make a conclusion without all the info first, but you do you. I still think it’s silly to get mad at the lead for assuming they are the picture perfect person portrayed to us on a show. Why would you not be mad at production instead? Both for choosing him without doing proper research and for editing it to make him look like this fairytale prince if he’s the exact opposite? He did acknowledge in an interview that he dated after his wife died, and then he stated that again in the post-show stuff with his pick. To me that makes it seem like the franchise wanted a perfect sob story with a golden boy poster child and made him look like exactly that. But a perfect person like that is too good to be true, so I don’t know why people are shocked or angry at him for how production chose to edit and portray him and for falling for that portrayal.
I agree with everything you said but I have a different take. In the usual seasons I always find myself “rooting” for a specific person(s), however with this season I didn’t feel that way. I appreciated the fact that these women know what they want and wouldn’t just fight for something that wasn’t right. I had all faith that Gerry would do what he thought was best. Did it end the best? No. But generally I think these women were mature and I want the best for all of them
Honestly personally I don't really care if he dated someone beforehand, though I still don't entirely trust the person asserting that anyway. The idea was supposed to be "I haven't fallen in love since my wife" which seems to be true. Also people insinuating he's secretly evil for dating someone soon after his wife passed don't understand how people deal with grief. I can't imagine how it felt to be alone after decades sleeping next to someone.
Exactly right about grief and who you bond with. After my grandpop died, and very recently the wife of a neighbor died, my grandmom and that neighbor (already friends for decades) ended up marrying each other. When you've lived with someone most of your life, being alone is harder than you imagine. I also think that's partly why Gerry chose Theresa, it's an important shared experience.
He straight up lied and completely misrepresented himself. And just because other people have moved on extremely quickly because of “grief”, doesn’t make it right. It’s not grief to move on quickly, if you were actually sad you wouldn’t have the energy to fall in love again unless you’re a narcissist
@@Mollycrimey That's really not how that works. extreme grief makes you do a lot of impulsive things. Plus there's no indication he fell in love with that woman anyway, just that he dated her. Dating isn't moving on, it's coping.
I read the article and they claim that Gerry's live-in girlfriend provided documents showing his address as her primary residence during the time they were dating, she also provided text exchanges between the two of them. I took that, along with Gerry's evasiveness, as proof. I also just had a weird feeling while watching the show that he was a sweet-talker or a player so this just confirmed that for me, but I also get if its not enough to sway you
it’s not confirmed right now if there’s gonna be a Golden Bachelorette and another season of the Golden Bachelor after that. I think it was meant to be another spinoff they were testing out and adding to the Bachelor franchise. but since the ratings have done so well, why stop there? I loved this season! the women were fantastic and it was so wholesome and pure! and I would love to see a Golden Bachelorette too. I think it’s obvious to say that airing BIP right after the GB was a mistake on their part. the ratings have dropped by half or even more every week. they couldn’t air it on Monday or Tuesday as usual because of MNF on ABC and DWTS on Tuesdays. they also aired it later than usual so that could also be another factor. I agree, I they should do a Golden season once a year. it’s just a lot of content to put together in one year; Bachelor, Bachelorette, BIP, Golden Bachelor, and Golden Bachelorette. they could film it all in one year, maybe, but finding when to air it all can be difficult. overall, I enjoyed this season, and I’m looking forward to Joey’s next month!
Hmm. I don’t like how Gerry dodged the questions about the allegations. “There’s some truth to it but meh I wanna focus on the now.”🤨 This hurts bc I don’t want to perceive Gerry as anything other than what he was on The Golden Bachelor but his response was just so vague and honestly sketch 😬
Well tbh its smart move cause everyone will forget about it and he gets to live with his pick...he wasnt looking for instargram followers so he is npt feeding the drama
@@0912sooli yeah. I can’t say I wouldn’t have done the same in his situation. It’s just, I wanted it to be JUST an accusation but his response made it seem like it was true. At least part of it. And that saddens me.
He saved it and then immediately tanked his whole season, his entire reputation and refuses to come clean about any of it which makes him look like he has zero integrity. It's not hard to believe the article after you see how he treated Leslie.
@@shannonceleste5557 Hey, if lying gold digging narcissists are your thing, then have at it. However, Theresa seems like a nice person, and I hate to see her rushed into marriage under false pretenses with this sketchy guy.
Here's my beef with the golden bachelor: if they would just edit the other shows better, I think the normal shows could be similarly good. I think the golden bachelor was so well produced, but I just want to see them treat the other shows with the same care.
Former Leads have written books and given interviews. The Bachelor crafts the story...the Lead says what he is told to say. They decided Gary's career! Also, several of them said they were told, "Do NOT say, "I love you," until the end. Obviously!! Gary should have been given this guidance and advice. I could see the EMOTIONAL trainwreck coming. They had set up the storyline edit from the 1rst date with Theresa- common emotional bonds, etc. They have to have a Final 2. Leslie was edited as the PHYSICAL connection, the attractive fun adventurous girl. *** The problem was they let him get in over his head - and almost tank this wonderful new series. Notice Leslie went FIRST to the Fantasy Suite. He REALLY thinks she is the one!!!❤ If Theresa had gone first, we would not have had this problem. Why? He found out Theresa does the SAME line of work as Toni - his wife - read her obit. He realized that Theresa does NOT have more money than he does. She is worth about 1/3 to 1/2. They are financially more compatible though. Theresa lines up with him. I was sick to my stomach over what was said to Leslie 24 hours prior to realizing it was Theresa...even though I could see the editing clues. My husband - a man's take? "He meant well. He was just in over his head." I think, though, the ending gave this show a black eye.
Don’t really care that his employment history wasn’t exactly as portrayed but his relationship past was very shady. The Ex “Carolyn” has receipts for her claims. Theresa should take things slow and not rush into marriage with Gerry. Also, hated how he led Leslie on and changed his mind within hours and told her it “was better with someone else”. Awful.
He didn’t save the Bachelor, the women saved the Bachelor. The fans are now older and it was great to see incredible mature women on the show. Also the last few years the travel ended. I miss the shows like Jillian’s season where they traveled across Canada on a train. Allie’s season where her and Frank had a date in Istanbul in the Basilica Cisterna. Three quarters of the show or more now filmed in LA and it’s gotten old.
I don't assume Gerry chose to lie about his relationship. This. Is. A. Show. It seems very reasonable and likely to me that the producers asked him to modify his "truth" to create the story line they wanted. They have to make him seem perfect, sympathetic, etc to keep viewers and women engaged and hopeful. Is that wrong? No. It's a show.
Wholesome is the right word, as in the last couple of decades, we have become a very crude culture that has spread it around the world. Balance in the way people express them selves is sorely needed these days. Very relevant points, Bachelor Fantake!
The Golden bachelor was great but all the stories that came up about his past didn't help. He didn't have to lie about not having ANY relationships since his wife died. It's ok to be real. Americans don't need a "perfect" lead.
He said he retired at 55, but from what? Then he was a handyman out of the kindness of his heart 😂 I think he was paid, he needed the money. So what was his career from 1985 until he retired at 55? They never said….and why would he retire at 55? The implication was that he must be wealthy but it’s not looking like that’s the case….
Do the Rose 🌹 Ceremony in chairs 💺 for goodness sakes!! That Hollywood Reporter story was priceless. Makes me think it's really all about the money 💰 to Gerry.
Hey BF, I don't understand how Kathy was a villain? I think she made good and fair points with Theresa. I agreed with her point of view and didn't see malice in any of it. ????? All due respect but Theresa seemed pretty clueless about saying things she shouldn't have and being a bit smug about her position (even though it turned out she was right!). 🤷🏼♀
I applied to be on the show before the lockdowns. I told them I realized that I was out of their age range. However, they need to have a show for us older people because we need love too! Cute and funny comment. Yes Bonnie it was all because of you. I hadn't watched any of them since season one, which was 21 years ago! So, indeed thank you for that! 😊
Maybe he saved it, maybe not. What’s come out about him and what his response has been so far is very troubling. I’m not saying it’s true but even what I saw him do to Leslie is a huge red flag. What he said about his rationale is absurd. Just because you were feeling something in the moment doesn’t mean you should say it. One has to act like a mature adult and do not tell someone when you don’t know if they’re going to be the one that they are the one, that you love them, that you are my girl, that we will be together etc. Because that is called lying. No bachelor or bachelorette has done this. Yes they’ve use the L Word but this is way beyond that. So it remains to be seen if Gerry is really who I thought he was. The franchise may have to do some serious repair. Too many inconsistencies.
Yes, exactly, Gerry did not show any more mature behaviour than other younger bachelors. If he is 72, shouldn't he know better than to drop love confessions left and right? And it seems he has done love declarations much more extensively compared to any of previous leads. I think Clayton just said 3 'i love you's and was dragged through the mud. But when it is nice looking grandad calling multiple women 'you're my girl' , he gets away with it.
In the middle of watching this, I picked up my device and must have hit something because all of a sudden there were people getting killed off. I was so confused…(then I looked down and realized TH-cam had advanced to the Squid Games video! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I don't think it was simply the change up that made this season special. It was the REALITY in this reality tv show. Every single contestant came across as a real person with a full life who was curious and hopeful about love under crazy circumstances :-) Not a bunch of snot-ball judgmental wannabe social influencers.
And in the end it turned out there is no reality - the bachelor played assigned role, created a fairytale of grieving widower alone for many years. And people still go on defending his lies, because they like the lie character that show and he himself created.
The ex-girlfiend lived in his house, they had a 3 year relationship. I believe her! His answers to Katy are very evasive. He's clearly avoiding the subject and not answering the questions. The guy is a liar. Leslie - you dodged a bullet! Be grateful for that. You deserve better! This is a TV show, it's entertainment. Reap your rewards from the experience (and I hope there are many), and move on. You'll find love with the right person!
He sold his diner in 1985. What he did the last 40 years is what he should be called or they can leave off his job. But why sell him as a restaurateur??
I think it started out good. The women were classy and mostly a great group of ladies. As it progressed, I something about Gerry wasn't right. Bad vibes. And by the end of the show he nauseated me. I think Leslie and Faith dodged a bullet honestly. They all did except Teresa.I think Gerry is dishonest and self absorbed. He's fake and I think he saw Teresa's financial situation and went for that. How do you tell that many women you're in love with them and then excuse it away with lame explanations. He dodged accountability. Can't stand the guy. 😝
Okay but saying it was just "a couple of dates" when you LITERALLY LIVED WITH A WOMAN AND CHARGED HER RENT is disgustingly dishonest... As is everything he said to Leslie (and Faith.) Not a Gerry fan.
Make no mistake, this show has jumped the shark. ABC (Disney) is too lazy to produce quality new shows with actors. They have succumbed to reality tv. Their stock says everything.
All the articles talking about his “past” are wild. He did not ask to be made a saint, he just said the last person he fully loved was his wife. Ain’t no way I’m judging a man who horrifically lost his wife after 4 decades. Deal with that grief any way you see fit
He seemed too good to be true, overly cloying from the start. Idk i wanted to like this, wanted to like the lead, but something wasn't clicking with me. The allegations aren't life-ruining, but it would have been so easy to just...tell the truth? Or even cover it up and pay the ex so she stays quiet. Just sloppy work all around. Feels fake.
I dont believe a word he says in that postseason interview. So obviously trying to dodge accountability. I'm a bad liar myself so i know one when i see one! Makes me feel sad for theresa too, i doubt that he's being entirely truthful with her either.
@@kat8559 Oh he's lying through his teeth to Theresa. His mask won't drop until he gets legally married to her, and she's fully uprooted her life and burned bridges...and he's got his name firmly engraved on her balance sheet.
A genuine "back to basics" season in this franchise was desperately needed after so many problematic seasons in the last few years and we finally got that with the Golden Bachelor. Sure there were already some signs in Charity's and even in Zach's season in that direction but it was this season where that was fully consolidated: likeable cast and lead, cute romance, authenticity and no overbearing drama nor blatant ulterior influencer motives. Sure, eventually a more dramatic season down the road can happen and even be welcomed, but for now I think the show should keep on focusing on the wholesome direction - here's hoping Joey's season will be on that tone.
Man, I really thought this was the one season in a long time that a Bachelor was actually going to keep his moral compass in tack. Turns out Gerry is just like so many (not all) other nice looking men. He wants to have it both ways. He strung along Ellen making her seem like she would be a front runner, then Faith, and finally dear sweet Leslie. He told all of the ladies what he knew they wanted to hear, but he didn't mean it, obviously. "In that moment, I meant what I said". That's a load of pig manure! It stinks to high heavens. Gerry took what he could from each of them and didn't look back. I'm so disappointed in Gerry now after he made almost everyone believe he was such a nice, honorable, decent man. I guess the producers didn't vet him well enough, or maybe this was their backup plan, having all the dirt come out at the end of his season. ABC got a huge boost in viewership because this was such a unique season. It's still a hot topic for all of Bachelor Nation because it has come out that poor lonely Gerry started dating a month or two after "the love of his life" died suddenly. WOW! He was so devastated by her death that he couldn't wait to fill their bed with someone else. He must have had the grieving process fast tracked in order to date anyone so quickly, and then to have them move into his and Toni's forever home. If that were my father, I don't know that I would ever talk to him again. He totally disrespected Toni by moving along THAT fast. I would wonder if he had been cheating on Toni all along. Since he's denying any relationships happened, or weren't considered a relationship in his eyes, that goes to show you that he tries to manipulate the situation so he doesn't look as bad as he currently is. If I were Theresa, I would definitely reassess the engagement and the wedding
1 "Golden" season a year max (if that). That's my take. Don't overdo a good thing!

I really liked that show
THR had receipts.
@@vanillaghetto Her life is not ruined though.
Yes but that still only tells her perspective and it still has holes and not full proof of everything.
No. But generally I think these women were mature and I want the best for all of them
You just might be my favorite reviewer on TH-cam....I wish your videos were longer just for that reason 😅.
Thank you!!
As always, your review is excellent! Funny, smart and insightful. Thank you so much for putting your heart into every post. You are terrific!
100% agree
He straight up lied and completely misrepresented himself. And just because other people have moved on extremely quickly because of “grief”, doesn’t make it right. It’s not grief to move on quickly, if you were actually sad you wouldn’t have the energy to fall in love again unless you’re a narcissist
@@Mollycrimey lol you’re so loud and wrong hun
@@Mollycrimey That's really not how that works. extreme grief makes you do a lot of impulsive things. Plus there's no indication he fell in love with that woman anyway, just that he dated her. Dating isn't moving on, it's coping.
Imo it's completely wild how folks have turned against him with literally zero 'proof' of any wrong doing.
Agreed. She could be sour grapes, especially given the timing? Who knows. It may be a sprinkle of truth over a bunch of lies for all we know.
Bachelor funs are toxic they can pick they can throw you
Me too. Why are we just believing this woman?
I read the article and they claim that Gerry's live-in girlfriend provided documents showing his address as her primary residence during the time they were dating, she also provided text exchanges between the two of them. I took that, along with Gerry's evasiveness, as proof. I also just had a weird feeling while watching the show that he was a sweet-talker or a player so this just confirmed that for me, but I also get if its not enough to sway you
@@natckukwait so he went on the show for what?
"The Harry Potter of F Boys" is by far my favorite line from this video. SLAY
I agree with you wholeheartedly about EVERYTHING!!! Best season in a while! Every character lovable!
Your thoughts are so perfect and logical about all of this. Love your recaps big time, thank you!
it’s not confirmed right now if there’s gonna be a Golden Bachelorette and another season of the Golden Bachelor after that.
“There’s some truth to it but meh I wanna focus on the now.”🤨
This hurts bc I don’t want to perceive Gerry as anything other than what he was on The Golden Bachelor but his response was just so vague and honestly sketch 😬
💯
His narcissism was showing through with Faith, as well.
After reading that THR article, I don't know what to think about Gerry anymore.
May I ask honestly why it matters? G&T seem happy and I struggle to take an ex's proclamations seriously at this point in the season
@@shannonceleste5557 Hey, if lying gold digging narcissists are your thing, then have at it. However, Theresa seems like a nice person, and I hate to see her rushed into marriage under false pretenses with this sketchy guy.
Look at the group of ladies. They know what really matters-- the friendship bonds they formed together!
Having Joey follow up on the Bachelor season was genius.
Here's my beef with the golden bachelor: if they would just edit the other shows better, I think the normal shows could be similarly good. I think the golden bachelor was so well produced, but I just want to see them treat the other shows with the same care.
Thanks for another great breakdown and wrap up of a season!
Having the golden bachelor and this season of bachelor in paradise at the same time was like whiplash.
He REALLY thinks she is the one!!!❤
If Theresa had gone first, we would not have had this problem.
He was just in over his head."
I think, though, the ending gave this show a black eye.
They're gonna make us suffer through the bachelor before they announce the golden bachelorette😮
Awful.
Right, “just better with someone else” really showed Gerry for who he is 😜
Oh, lying about his balance sheet and glomming on to Theresa's is a big problem.
Funny how when Chris Harrison was asked about having someone older on there, he didn’t think it was what the viewers wanted. Boy, was he wrong!!!!
I agree about the love watching. For once I was looking forward to new episodes because of what a joy it was to watch this show
He didn’t save the Bachelor, the women saved the Bachelor.
Best season in a long time!! There will always be claims for people looking for 15 minutes of fame.
Loved this season. Renewed my love for the show.
The season, yes, agree it was Golden, but I, unfortunately, couldn’t stomach the finale & will skip the wedding.
The Golden Bachelor was my first time watching anything Bachelor related.
It was just heartwarming and entertaining. A great mix.
4:19 dude I feel the same way about Natasha. She was hilarious. Loved her exit!
Would really love to see a Golden Bachelorette season next!
Yes please !
They will probably go that route to help them set up with season 2 of Golden Bachelor.
The Golden bachelor was great but all the stories that came up about his past didn't help. He didn't have to lie about not having ANY relationships since his wife died. It's ok to be real. Americans don't need a "perfect" lead.
I saw an interview with him during the season where he talked about having dated after his wife died.
The beginning of this video is acc gold
that clip of Kathy and Susan is EVERYTHING
I hope they bring back listen to your heart & have all of these new ideas as one-offs on rotation!
I actually believe The Golden Bachelorette will be even better
At the end of the day, it was still a bachelor. A Golden Bachelorette would never. 😅
The saving of the Bachrlor franchise started with the last Bachelorette season, methinks.
Since we know Susan is ordained to marry people, my ideal officiant for the Gerry Theresa wedding is Susan!
The producer of BIP Canada was the executive producer of Golden Bachelor.
I watched my first season since Michelle’s. It was so fun!
I like the maturity of it all
This is the second time I've seen Katie kuric in as many nights (Netflix movie, she played herself). Anyhew I thought she died years ago.
Do the Rose 🌹 Ceremony in chairs 💺 for goodness sakes!! That Hollywood Reporter story was priceless. Makes me think it's really all about the money 💰 to Gerry.
The editing😂👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Great review ❤
Hey BF, I don't understand how Kathy was a villain? I think she made good and fair points with Theresa. I agreed with her point of view and didn't see malice in any of it. ????? All due respect but Theresa seemed pretty clueless about saying things she shouldn't have and being a bit smug about her position (even though it turned out she was right!). 🤷🏼♀
Not the wimpy kid edit in the beginning 🤣🤣
Revival won't last long if Gerry's background doesn't check out.
Very nicely said. How do we get this video to ABC so they can understand what they did right.?
It was good not to have so much drama!😊
People shouldn't get mad at him ,unless they go through it themselves you can get caught up in the moment and say things like I love you
Maybe he saved it, maybe not.
Yes! Just because he's mature in age, it doesn't mean that he's mature.
Clearly this 72-year-old man is not above love-bombing and future-faking to get the panties dropping. He is very narcissistic.
Every single contestant came across as a real person with a full life who was curious and hopeful about love under crazy circumstances :-)
Not a bunch of snot-ball judgmental wannabe social influencers.
And in the end it turned out there is no reality - the bachelor played assigned role, created a fairytale of grieving widower alone for many years. And people still go on defending his lies, because they like the lie character that show and he himself created.
i agree, one hour shows are the best, no drawn out filler. we all know it's a ridiculous way to choose a partner but that's what makes it interesting.
I bet that his wife was holding down the real job, with benefits.
Wait, no grade?! 🤯 I agree with your assessment though, 10 out of 10 would recommend this season 🙌🏽
I love him & it’s annoying me how people are trying to drag him online. Just let him and Theresa be happy!
Okay but saying it was just "a couple of dates" when you LITERALLY LIVED WITH A WOMAN AND CHARGED HER RENT is disgustingly dishonest... As is everything he said to Leslie (and Faith.) Not a Gerry fan.
Someone gets it. This guy is a big liar and probably a narcissist.
Make no mistake, this show has jumped the shark. ABC (Disney) is too lazy to produce quality new shows with actors. They have succumbed to reality tv. Their stock says everything.
May I ask what your observation has to do with BF's video?
All the articles talking about his “past” are wild. He did not ask to be made a saint, he just said the last person he fully loved was his wife. Ain’t no way I’m judging a man who horrifically lost his wife after 4 decades. Deal with that grief any way you see fit
Love your take and agree!
My husband and I were just talking about that meme at the very beginning of this video. Does anyone know what it's from???
Great video except....I want a Golden Bachelorette ASAP!!
I watched 2 bachelor seasons.
So I'm part of the statistics of increases viewers. It was different and I didn't hate it.
What was that clip from in the beginning? With the singing kids?
He’s a huge flirt
Gary’s wife was overweight . I highly doubt he said that about 10 lbs .
@6:50 see him touch his nose and stutter at the "past long term relationship"... What was ot then? Friends with benefits?
Watching this back in April 2024 like 👀
Golden paradise pls
If they don’t get a golden bachelorette quick!!!!!!!
Hi from Japan!!! ❤
I think they should keep it at 1 hour. 1 hour 30 min would be perfect
The show started out in 2002 as one hour, then it did go to 90 minutes. Somewhere around 2008/09 it went to the two hour per episodes format.
