Who woulda thought that Zach would be the one to cause the most drama on his season.
Plot twist: Zach isn’t against drama. He just won’t tolerate anyone else steeling his thunder
Ariel respected that Zack said no sex.
She is stunning and could have used her beauty to seduce and she didn't.
Obviously the conversation was great,and they stuck to exploring their possible future.
Gabby has zero respect for the other women &
Zero respect for Zack.
She was 1st and not 2nd in the sex category, so she 'won'
Funny how now she uses guilt & blame & zero responsibility.
Gabby's father was awesome.
He knew his wife was the won when he first saw her.31+ years later...still married.
This is the thing. You can say one thing and do another. It’s like people are holding pitch forks that this guy is cheating on them when the game show format is built on 30women to one man. Ya, give the guy a hard time when he paraded “no sex” at the same time. Are you in contract, committed relationship? Let’s break that down. There’s so much pressure for a human being to be perfect. That’s not right. Relationships, the strong and healthy ones are built upon interaction and interaction.
Now, if the interactions AFTER Zach admitting and being honest he was upfront and yes, be upset. Don’t dismiss your feelings and Zach better not dismiss those feelings either. After filming, this is where you need to take that huge step back and really take the relationship slow. If Zach or yourself (OR ANY COUPLE) have issues like poor attachment or that addiction to honeymoon phases “limerance” get help (therapy) and work it through but also be aware you don’t enable each other. Even if both parties don’t see eye-to-eye, you have to give it your all, your best to out I. That effort so you can see why it did fall apart OR it did succeed. WB horizon might have the perfect format to PERFECT what this game show is, but amazing relationships don’t start off “after the final rose” probably like five years AFTER the final rose.

Zach seemed proud of being able to nip drama in the bud with the girls on his season ,but he really was no match for the producers. They got him good😂.
The biggest plot twist of the season was that the drama that Zach was avoiding all season was himself all along.

BY FAR one of the most awkward Bachelor episodes I have ever watched. Zach kinda just threw everyone’s feelings in a blender this episode, and it was a mess. I don’t know if it’s as rough as Clayton saying he’s in love with 3 women but it was definitely spoiled his record for saying no to drama. I guess self control IS dead on the bachelor.
Not to be too judgmental (lol who am I kidding) but he’s come across as a little self centered the entire season. I get he’s the bachelor but the women are real people, not side characters to his story.
Probably in the minority here, but I seem to be picking up a Clayton vibe from Zach. I also don't like the way he felt the need to share his bedroom 'hijinks' with the world

If i were gabi I would send myself home. It’s SO obvious he prioritizes kaity and her feelings and not gabi’s. Even she can tell. She’s setting herself up for heartbreak
I hope she does. I feel like that would make this finale epic. Also I really just don’t want to see her get sent home (even though I like Katie and think that’s who will end up with). The “second thing” has my heart breaking a little for her.

@@misosoup846 I fully feel like he did that on purpose and that if he hadn’t slept with her she woulda gone home instead of Ariel. It would have been better if Zach just saw how each date went with each individual woman instead, like Hannah Brown did on her season

I’m so glad Katie said exactly what I was thinking. Intimacy is a known factor of this week and it didn’t need to be talked about because that just makes it all worse.
And what bothers me about it is that Kaity has openly talked about loyalty and the difficulties with that in her past relationships. And now she has to deal with Zach telling her to her face that he broke his promise of no sex and with that all over again.

From there he should have had a one on one convo with Ariel and apologize for his unrealistic expectation and probably shouldn’t have put her through a rose ceremony.🤷🏻♀️
@@jdoe754 I agree. That to me would have handled the situation in a way that put the decision and power into her hands without totally crossing the line with Gabi.
I mostly feel bad for Gabi. She most definitely is going to get the brunt of the s***-shaming when he could have dealt with all of that in private (because, you know, fantasy suites and all). Feel like she didn’t get much of a say in that

Exactly - I believe Ariel has confirmed she didn’t know as she has been leaving shady comments like “downvote” on pictures of her and Zach.
That's the weird thing... I guess he showed his cards as to who he cares for most/wants to hurt the least... Sadly, Ariel had to be blindsided but the final rose decision and some later nasty surprises.
i don't think he felt the need to do that as he knew from the start that he wouldn't be giving Ariel a rose at the end of the week. he only went to explain it to kaity because he knew it would come back up at some point.

I can't fault Gabby for wanting their decision to be a mutual decision made in private and not a unilateral decision Zach made on camera under duress from the producers.
Absolutely. For him to tell Katie at the beginning of their date when she was clear she didn't want to know shows his emotional maturity is that of a prepubescent boy. Then, he goes and tells her which woman he was intimate with!
Gabby needs to work on her self-esteem but Zach STILL doesn't deserve her.
Katie showed her true colors when she made her snide-y remark to Gabby after the rose ceremony following the fantasy dates. Katie isn't the sweet young lady she (and producers/editing) has tried to portray herself as being.
i’m honesty surprised as many people are supporting her. knowing that she is the second date and saying he’s not test driving cause he knows he wants a porsche…then saying “zach and i are very…excited😏he’s says he’s not going to have sex, but idk…maybe he will” all with a smirk. if a guy said all that about the bachelorette, bachelor nation would be chewing him up.

Naaaaah. Zach set a boundary, she made it very clear she intended to push said boundary - then was upset that Zach was upset when the boundary was crossed. She really shot herself in the foot there. I have zero sympathy for her.
If Zach had a boundary it's no one's business other than the person he told it to. It's always a choice between both parties and for both to agree or not to discuss it. if you can't handle what this last few episodes of this show is about you don't need to be there.
So after Gabi tearfully explained to Zack how much being "second choice" worried her, he has sex with her and then at the rose ceremony gives her the Second rose!!!! Are you kidding me!!!!

THANK YOU for putting this out here! Close-listeners of this show would be able to pick this out. Production often frankenbites ITM's to fit their narrative so often and it can be unnecessarily damaging. I feel so terrible for Gabi and I hope she is doing okay.
I think you hit the nail on the head when you said Zach may have decided to be intimate with Gabi to comfort and make her feel special. But as soon as he did that AND confessed to Kaity for forgiveness it was doomed. Either his choice is G, and K will have been forced to listen to his confession and put a lot of effort in forgiving him for nothing, OR his choice is K and then she'll have to deal with his betrayal, while G will have been used and picked second after being so vulnerable.
I think the way he handled the conversations shows he will pick Kaity and you make such good points here. It is probably going to end badly for Gabbi and if it continues going the way it is, this will all just validate her worst fears and insecurities. I feel for her but maybe she will self eliminate and tell him off. I just don’t know how it will happen. The way they marketed the season to us as having a love story and finally getting back to the roots of the show…um…if Gabbi is completely devastated, not sure how everyone will be fully happy for Kaity and Zack.

To be fair though, he stated to Gabi he did not want to have sex and she basically took it as a challenge instead of respecting it and helping him keep that commitment. Which is definitely not ok.

I might be alone in this but I feel so bad for Gabi. They shared an intimate night and it seems like they had agreed to keep it secret and then he just told the entire nation plus the other girls without running it by her FIRST. He did this solely to save his own ass and sacrificed Gabi‘s feelings in the process. It’s honestly really messed up. I would feel beyond betrayed and angry if my business was put on blast like that

She had no clue he was going to talk about it with her one on one, in front of the cameras. Watching it back, I'm sure it might be a bit more mortifying for her to know now he shared out loud even before this conversation, with Jesse when he left her in the morning.

I believe everyone should be able to have their own opinion about how important sex is in a relationship. I am a little shocked by the women’s response to Zach because if the roles were reversed everyone would be up in arms if a man responded to a woman this way about sex. “If you set a standard of no sex then you are probably going to.” “Looks like we are not going to have sex…or are we?” I just didn’t expect them to not immediately respect Zach’s boundaries he set. That’s what the men would be expected to do if it was a bachelorette. It’s just a little surprising.
Yeah, I was shocked by that too - Gabby kinda disappointed me with that because if my partner said sex was off the table, I'd honour that with no questions asked. But it seemed she went into that night with no intention of honouring his commitment, and that was really off-putting to see.

Did anyone else notice that Zach made THE FACE when Gabi shared her doubts on the beach? He almost sent her home right there and then, but then she said it wasn't about him and reaffirmed her affection, so instead he slept with her. Then Kaity obviously was very unhappy and concerned, but when she told him he was worth it, it was all good again!

The look he gave her was the same exact look he gave other women the second he lost interest because they were unagreeable or "drama" and then sent them home. When Gabi brought that up he immediately got defensive and upset and had that dumb look. If I was Gabi I wouldn't even show up to the final rose. He didn't even look at her at the end of this episode.

The way he came across was def like he did with women in the past where he sent them home right then and there. Honestly thought that Gabi would be the final pick but after this week I think it’s Kaity. I don’t think Zach would’ve risked hurting gabi if he really loved her/saw a future with her. He knew the consequences of having sex during fantasy suites and did it anyways with her. Not the most loving choice if he really wanted to preserve their relationship
I think when he told Gabi he was falling in love with her in that one on one conversation it was a genuine expression, you could see it on his face, but after he told Kaity about that night and she didn't have a favorable reaction like he thought, he might've lost that feeling for Gabi a bit because he was caring a lot about Kaity in her distress. So, he called Kaity up first and Gabi second at the rose ceremony.
I would be sooooo surprised and soooo happy if he pick Kaity after watching this episode. I feel like he really is falling for Gabi. Kaity seems very mature. I don’t think he deserves her but still I would love to see them together. 🤷♀️

I don’t think it’s wrong for the lead to sleep with the final two, because in real life you’re also not going on dates with multiple people. The sex is just an extension of these parallel relationships. I do think the lead should send home their #3 pick though, if they already know that’s the plan

Timing of the truth is as important as the truth. There's a time and place and the date with Katie wasn't it. Also, Gabi deserved to be told first-- before Jesse Palmer. He seemed in such a hurry to clear his conscious that he didn't show care for others involved.
Whether or not Gabi was insecure or pressured him--- and I can see she may have-- that's certainly the edit-- he was a willing participant. That he felt guilty later and regrets it seems clear. Being on this show, I don't think anyone can expect privacy since production will push for details. I just find it unfair of him to tell TVland first then Gabi.

And he announced it after the fact. He *had* already talked about it in front or Jesse, the crew, producers, and the camera...FFS! And he THINKS he is this nice, decent, gentleman.
Kaity's lips don't move for "I know you were the only on,' Gaby intentionally puts the rose in front of her mouth so you can't see what she's saying, and then Kaity looks directly at the camera. They're so uncomfortable, so aware of being recorded. LADIES, BLINK TWICE IF YOU NEED HELP.
There’s nothing that’s a bigger turnoff than a man who grovels and apologizes over and over again for doing something he wanted to do. He should be apologizing to Gabi, but instead he keeps calling it a mistake that he had sex with her. That’s way worse than just owning it and saying it’s what he wanted to do.
When he said to Kaity that things have “evolved” since then 😂😂

Anyone else freaked out by the "maybe he will" comment? Like, maybe she was just saying it to the cameras to try make herself feel cute, but I don't like that message.
That, the comment on "I can't wait for him to watch my skin care, the bed with the "activities", she heard his boundaries and thought "challenge accepted, how can I push" rather than respecting his No enough not to push. Personally, I really have a problem with that but I don't know her, so... Trying not to judge.
Honestly I think it was mostly her insecurities about her appearance surfacing. Obviously it’s never okay to give a pressuring vibe around sex, but I think it’s more of a symptom of her needing to love herself more and seeking outward validation

Alternate perspective, if I as a woman had expressed to a guy that I don’t want to have sex, and then he heard that as “maybe we will, maybe we won’t” I would feel a little taken advantage of. Whether or not we “agreed” or “both wanted to”, I had expressly said I didn’t want to and I’d feel like that boundary wasn’t honored. I don’t see how their relationship survives this.

Unless the situation turned into force. You changing your mind is your choice. I don't think Gabby forced him. He said they talked and BOTH AGREED " they had a moment". We can't take it as any more than what he says it is.

Ariel exited like the queen she is. I'm thrilled Charity is the next Bachelorette, but I'd love to see Ariel have her own season as The Bachelorette. Ariel would be awesome on Bachelor of Paradise, but I can't help but hope we see her in a future season of The Bachelorette. 😊
Lesson for next bachelor: don't talk about sex. Don't share what you did, didn't do and want/don't want to do in front of the camera. Let it go...
I think if Zach was really truly serious about no sex he should have told them as a group. Like at the last rosé ceremony he should have addressed all three women and said “in honor of respecting you and you respecting each other, I am Making a vow to not be intimate during fantasy week”. That way it’s done and clear that’s his boundary. Choosing to do it individually to each women then causing all the drama def is a lil childish of him
In the remote past related to fantasy suites, whatever happened in the fantasy suites was each couple's private business. I really do not think that everyone everywhere has to put honesty before privacy, respect, and integrity. Disclosing whether each couple was intimate or not is the issue that is causing all the drama. This goes back to Clayton's season as well. In the past it is expected that the couple may or may not be intimate. It should be left as that.
He honesty could have kept his mouth shut.
Zach was selfish and went back on his word. And then he slept with Gabi and then told everyone, instead of keeping it private. And then threw it in front of Kaity so he could get rid of his guilt and so that he could test her to see if they could work through it. Zach is a hot mess express. I feel bad for the women.
I think the women are great…Zach, not so much.
i feel like them being intimate would have been more gabj initiating it though, since she expressed how important intimacy was for her to even think about becoming engaged.

@@emmasurf8768 most of the recaps are better than the show. Not just informative, but so much more entertaining. Unfortunately this has become a Brand like the Kardashians, but it's not what the fans wanted. After the DISASTEROUS Rachel/Gabby debacle, they were really under the gun to come up with something new. They were in too deep and came up short. Many of us have lost respect and would rather watch The Women Tell All (w/o) Jesse P. Who is as drab as the show. Bachelor Fantake and the likes are a very popular welcomed relief for this drudgery that has lost its charm and become derivative. This ship is sinking.

Even though I've been enjoying the light back-to-basics feel of this season, after multiple seasons crippled by Victorias, Shanaes and serious heavy drama, I will say that I'm glad that we finally got some really juicy drama!
What happens in the fantasy suites should stay in the fantasy suites -- for everyone's sake.
This episode was genuinely one of the best bachelor / Bachelorette episode in years!.

I haven't watched a single season/episode, but from your recap of Zack being sent home I was just WAITING FOR HIM TO BE THE DRAMA THAT HE TRULY IS. Like did everyone forget how he went home???? He made sure him leaving made noise... i was just waiting for him to start drama and chaos and blaming everyone but him
He switched on Rachel as quickly as he got the ick for women on his season. Maybe he doesn't like women with opinions and can't handle having an opposing opinion. We'll never know what happened in that fantasy suite. But we've seen him all season long make rash decisions and get rid of anyone who's not agreeable.

Zach once again thinks and does what's best for him and not for the others. He could have talked with Katie before, as Bachelor Fantake has pointed out or when the cameras were off, but he chose to be "honest" at the cost of making Katie enjoy the date and to feel special... And she can't not even be the bachelorette...

To anyone reading this I just want you to know: If you tell someone you don’t want to have sex with them, and they respond with anything other than “oh well then absolutely that’s ok!” then that’s not respect for your choices. I can’t imagine a bachelorette telling the men she didn’t want to have sex with them and them saying to the camera that maybe she’ll change her mind. All of bachelor nation would be uncomfortable with that response. We don’t need to demonize anyone to point out that it is NEVER ok to hope behind your partner’s back that they’ll defy their convictions so that you can have sex with them. Whatever your reasoning for wanting the sex is. That’s valuing physicality more than support.

Anyone who has watched a season of the Bachelor or Bachelorette knows what could potentially happen in the fantasy suites. In fact, all 3 women were eagerly anticipating the chance to be intimate with Zach. He should have kept his mouth closed. The only person he was lying to was himself. By broadcasting the details of his night with Gabi, he betrayed her trust and then ended up hurting the other women as well. He would have faired better if he had kept his plans to himself or shared them after he was alone with the women instead in front of the cameras.

Yeah, he's not wrong for having had sex with one of the three, he hasn't technically committed to any of them yet and sex is part of a long, loving relationship for many people. Shit happens when two hot people are locked overnight in a room together with booze and mood lighting.
Where he went horribly wrong was telling Kaity at the mid-ish point of their date. WTF?!??!?! 1. While yes, you are dating Kaity and before sleeping with her it would be good to let her know you just slept with someone else, but wait until the fantasy suite, when the cameras are off and 1) you aren't airing your and Gabi's personal matters on national television and 2) Kaity can have an honest reaction rather than having to worry about how her reaction will look to the nation.
Whichever woman gets the final rose, RUN!!!!!! This guy is all about himself. Both women deserve better.
I have so much more respect for how Kaity handled the situation. Didn't just make it about her hurt feelings and issues with men leaving and betraying her. So mature.

Yeah I felt like the I am falling in love with you was him planning to go to Kaity and pull a Clayton saying “I love you more” to her. The falling in love line to Gabbi seemed like he’s trying to validate that he cares for her and that they were justified in being intimate, but ultimately I believe he knew in that moment that he would be picking Kaity.

It's hard for me to call her "poor Gabi" though, since it appears she's the one who initiated sex with Zach, as Zach has made his intentions of not having sex clear to her. She implies to the camera that she intends on changing his mind, which wouldn't be tolerated if it was in reverse and a bachelorette had stated she didn't want to have sex and a man was going to make her change her mind.

The best way to go about fantasy suites week is not outright say for the cameras “no sex” or “definitely sex.” Like, keep it to yourself!! If you don’t want to have sex, tell them in private. Also if you did, tell the others in private if you feel that’s right.

I think it’s really important to look at Zach’s actions after the fantasy suite with Gabi. He chose Kaity FIRST at the rose ceremony, after Gabi spoke to him about feeling second and sleeping with him. He couldn’t go through the date with kaity without telling her what happened and Kaity accepted it. I can’t help but think Zach appreciates Kaitys acceptance and recognizes he can do/behave shitty and Kaity will still be there. That’s a really bad position Kaity has placed herself in.

Am I the only one who also thinks Gabi is also in the wrong here?? Like obviously Zach is an adult and should be able to stick to the boundaries he had for himself but I feel like he genuinely felt bad about the fact that he didn't and he was trying to own up and take responsibility for it. I'm not saying he didn't do anything wrong but Gabi is ALSO an adult and should be able to respect basic physical boundaries that Zach communicated. The fact that she was say "he doesn't want to have sex but we'll see" is SUPER messed up. And also when he talks to her the next day clearly upset she says "I didn't realize you were so bothered" that's also super invalidating to the fact that he's clearly upset. To be honest I feel sorry for Gabi I know she made the choice to have sex knowing the risk, but she didn't force him. And now Kaity's more interesting to him because she was thinking about leaving and he didn't sleep with he. I think the take away from this episode it to keep what happens in the fantasy suite private. Even if the lead decides to not have sex with anyone they should just tell the contestants when the cameras are gone telling everyone what happens in there never ends well.
By Zach’s logic of no secret telling, he should also be telling kaity that he told Gabi he was falling in love with her but he didn’t. He’s got some flawed logic! Should keep relationships in this show separate from each other because then people start comparing themselves which is just not right.
