This is starting to become a pattern: Chopping off mufflers to get "loud" just to come back to fix the bad decision. It shows what happens when you don't research to pick the sound you would like for the long road. He wasted a lot of money here.

There are millions of videos you can review on this platform and even more people that are willing to share their thoughts and opinions when it comes to exhaust so you can make a more educated decision. Something I didn't have when I first started working on cars back in the 80s. You made guesses and hope you made the right choice. Most of the time you ended up swapping out different setups until you find one that you like wasting money and time. With TH-cam is a lot easier to make the right decision the first time. I made a decision I was happy with this week after listing to different setups and taking to people about their decisions. Unless I damage the exhaust on my car I will not be going back with regrets to the shop for replacement. That is money that could be spent on something else I want to work on. Those mufflers, tips, x-pipe and labor he went through was not cheap.

Cool video. A crime putting that Magnaflow after a Borla. It sounded nuts with strait pipes; I expect the best sound with just the Borla. Why use 3 cross connects...WASTE???
We'll to be honest i think the first one is too loud and little bit raspy. The second one sounded really perfect with a nice deep tone we're it was not too loud and not too quiet at the same time which in my opinion is really great. The last one sounded good but was a bit quiet at the end, so to be honest i will choose the second one on the silverado 1500
@@racerx250 sometimes the catalític converters blow out and that is what happens especially with age. I recently cut out a factory cat on a 5.4l 98 ford truck that had an exhaust leak there. The truck has 4 cats in total from factory. All 4 we're completely hollow inside when I looked. It was not done by the owner because I know him.. So that can be why your noise has changed and increased and the muffler is perfect.
@Life Is Amazing well its like this they sell exhaust kits cat back that can range from 700$ to well over 2000$ ..if you find a shop you trust you can just buy a quality Performance muffler add a nice tip and all for around 400$ installed. it's all up to your budget and what you can afford
I wonder what it woulda sounded like with double magnaflow vs the borla? Also curious what his original setup sounded like considering he basically right back to where he started maybe a tad louder
If he would have gotten rid of those ridiculous 6” tips and went with a 3.5 or 4, his sound wouldn’t have droned as bad with just the magnaflow. High flow cats also got him.
@18 RLX FJBLGB yes they're basically small glass pack mufflers that absorb high frequency sound (leaving the low) so you are adding silencing, reducing volume. That is one way you can reduce drone, as effectively you're adding more silencing. J-pipes cancel out particular annoying frequencies (drone) whilst maintaining the required volume.

And how do you think the stainless steel mesh (it's actually stainless wire wool btw) in those Vibrant resonators works then? It's still an absorption type muffler, same as a glass pack. So are you telling me that adding resonators doesn't reduce the sound output in decibels?
Borla pro xs is already a quiet muffler. What is this guy doing? A true straight to borla pro xs is perfect. Ran that setup on my 03 2500 6.0. Quiet at idle and would start to pop and gurgle around 2500-3000 rpm.
I'm thinking about doing the same thing except I want to use the Magnaflow like a resonator for a set of Flowmaster Delta Flow mufflers that sounds great, but has tons of drone!
Slap a carven r competitor or a black widow exhaust either Widowmaker or race venom. Delete the 3rd cat and you won't be disappointed. None of that straight piped crap. Just a nice aggressive tone with minimal drone

Magnaflow sounded perfect! The 3rd option was horrible. But hey to each their own. The straight pipe sounded bad ass. But Magnaflow is just perfect to me. Nice deep tone. Not too obnoxious with the Magnaflow.
The Cartels drug mules will have a full performance built truck and almost the entire exhaust is just mufflers. To get a ton of horsepower with little to no sound. There was a youtuber who bought a truck from a DEA auction and with no sound didn't know any better. He said he peeled out merging onto the road. Thing was awesome.
Not really liking any of them tbh. 1st one just doesn't sound clean, needs a resonator, race muffler, something... 2nd is pretty tame and the 3rd is just too quiet...
Who in the right mind puts two different brand mufflers on there damn truck. Most stupidest thing I've ever saw in my 29 years.. should of just stuck with the magnaflow muffler. It sounded the best....That's what you get with someone that has more money than brain's 🙄🙄🙄🙄...I have the same truck and I'm running full 3" exhaust with a 27" overall length thrush glasspack with no resonator on the tail pipe and it sounds perfect and only cost me about $250..

Big difference between a catback straight pipe and a true straight setup.
