You ask the shop for the stock exhaust back when they are done. Smog inspection comes around, you have the stock exhaust put back on then removed after the successful smog.
40 BUCKS VS 400+ its a no brainer if you're on a budget. I received my $40, incl shipping, 7' piece of Walker 3" exhaust tubing Monday. My '16 Sierra is get'n some tunes...
On 8/31/2023 I just had the Chevy Borla exhaust installed at my dealership and the left tips are not level (right hand tips are level) and straight like they should be. If I try to level the tips by turning the pipe, the right hand tip (on left side) hits the bumper. What did you do to tweak the pipe fitment? Did you adjust the 1st pipe joint past the muffler or did you need to actually bend hangers/pipes to fit correctly?
You only want to cut that flapper valve off if you disable the AFM or DFM, whichever your truck came with. That flapper valve works when your fuel management system is shutting down cylinders during stops, and light driving. Which as far as I'm concerned every Salesperson should be showing his customers how to do so, if anything, just to reduce your chances of having lifters sticking closed, which in turn can cause catastrophic engine failure, an issue the GM has been fully aware of since going all the way back to 2007. But before you say, then just buy a Ford, or a Ram, they've experienced that same issue with their electronic fuel management systems as well, since its the lifter companies design that's the issue. Over on Lonestar Hawaiian's channel he has a very thorough explanation of this problem, and the status of the class action lawsuit that is ongoing. But back to my original point, you should only cut the flapper valve off if you're disabling your electronic fuel management system.
A true dual exhaust is when a pipe comes off of each header collector and goes straight back to the exit without joining together in any muffler or catalytic converters. They can each have their own muffler or cat but no joining together
