This one starts with no "catches" -- (notes held by the middle pedal with dampers off, so they "ring" when played, decaying naturally and shown with a beginning tie mark, when the note or notes are played) -- until the third system, where second octave Bb is caught for quite a while. The next caught group, small octave a and e, is labeled (11 systems later,) and after that there are 5 more catches - - 1B,Bb,A - 1Eb,2F#,3F - 1A - 2A,Ab,G - 2Db,D - - the last applying only to the last seven notes. I choose the notes to "catch" as I go along with the writing, I do not lay them out beforehand - although, in this group of pieces, the "crosses" (in effect unordered note groups of 9 or fewer notes) i generally have decided beforehand.
