Variants corrected segments 1 Variants complete 1 thru 9
I apologize for the confusing title - but both my old G5's iMovie and youTube are unhappy with changing titles. The last part of 8 and all of 9 are new here, and what sounded like arbitrary noodling between early segments in the previous Variants upload has been eliminated. It was connected with freezing and unfreezing of channels, which I still do not understand well. At the beginning of 9, the diagonal lines through the score are from my crossing out of that whole page - but I eventually kept it. Thank you for coming here. PaulB

More than usually confusing rhythmic notation at the beginning of the second score page photo here, because of me changing my mind and not rewriting it - and, in the seventh score photo, the bass clef A to g chromatic cluster does not sound at all. (It sounds if exported in a shorter excerpt, but not in this complete segment run.) There are two "caught" middle pedal dyads - Eb and Ab 1 (caught ...

This reissue has an almost entirely not sounding fifth score page - the top line of page 16 - otherwise it is an improved version of the piece, especially the "light and fast proportional" passage, which had persistently bothered me in the originally issued Feb 3rd version. A late "description" , but I am putting it up anyway. I have not gone back and checked this (on my 2008 macpro), but I am pretty sure that the first part of this presentation - posted as 'Around the edges I' - ending abruptly with 3 staccato great C's - was originally a tad faster than it sounds here. Segment 4 is in progress and stops abruptly - thank you for coming here. If you are new to this place, the word "catch" on the score, indicates a note or note group to be held undamped with the middle pedal, so that it "rings" - decays naturally when played shown by beginning tie signs on the score. 2Eb,D and 1A (organ octave names) are caught silently at the beginning of the first segment, and...

I have now 18 more double pages written but not realized of this current group (from 'around the edges' of my all interval series) . looking at the series and culling note groups from it and then working them is how I do things. it's what comes easily for me, so I do it. I will be 86 this month and think that my time is best spent writing and posting new stuff. the nagging exception being that I would like to "un-elide" the piano sonata. I cut up and, when very tired, excessively "elided" (response to Wolpe's "elide elide elide") ,the well copied (by me) score - by cutting it up and magic taping it back together. That is the version which I realized - all of this happened quite a while ago. But i do have that score and so could unelide and re-realize it - a big project - starting with finding the score.
