I love the album version of this song, with the ridiculously-long guitar doodling at the end... true, it might've been completely self-indulgent, but there's a beautiful nod to both "Love Spreads" and "Voodoo Chile" in there somewhere that just drifts out of the bluesy jumble, and it's a joy to hear! Also, you can almost hear the rest of the band shaking their heads as they just give up and head off for a tea-break at the end, and John just keeps on jamming away on his own... lol
Was a massive roses fan and I hustled a copy of this within one week of its release but before the internet and being always stoned I didn't know the connection,I gave it a dj to play and he told me it was squire. So it just shows the music speaks for itself.

Came here from the Lisa Turbuck show radio 2 uk what a show what a song❤❤
John Squire is the Law!!!!
Squire is god
Class tune. Loved Squire 30 years ago and still do now (And not to forget the rest of the Seahorses, quality)
Lyrics
We lived in a dogfish, egg case
You could barely call it home
Sorry, little lot no roof on top
But the fish left us alone
"Try a little more" said the girl next door
It's time to roam
Mad Lizzy Crumbs, blind cobblers thumbs
Were a sight to behold
She was a rum old slapper and we always
Tried to get her pants off when she phoned
Left her cap by the sink, it's not what you think
Oh, take me home
Now we know where we're going, baby
We can lay back and enjoy the ride
Take in the sights and drown in our senses
Love is the law so take me deep inside
Strap on Sally chased us down the alley
We feared for our behinds
Oasis was a shop with shoes so hot
They were sure to blow your mind
Running so fast, I can taste the past
Oh, take me home
Now we know where we're going, baby
We can lay back and enjoy the ride
Take in the sights and drown in our senses
Love is the law so take me deep inside
These waters run deep, it's clear, my little one
Blue, velvet, star sky, not a sound
The light in your eyes, the smile on your ruby lips
Tells me my lost soul is found
Now we know where we're going, baby
We can lay back and enjoy the ride
Take in the sights and drown in our senses
Love is the law so take me deep inside
Paid a fortune for this album back in the day. Worth every penny
holy shit i just googled the sea horses to see if the band name is taken and found a new band to love
I've got lots of names you can use...VERTICAL MINDWARP, SHOT IN THE RIBS, LUTHER AND THE OPTICAL LENS WIPES, JUNIPER HELL, VENOMOUS FEUD, THE VIOLENT POOR, URBAN SEASCAPE(oops..that's taken..google them!!)....i'm a lyricist(prolific..always making up names for bands..have stacks...easiest way is to make up a word which doesn't exist...kinda works).
Good luck with the band. If you ever need some material..just shout..
Regards,
SONIC FOXX MUSIC.....Sonic Foxx..another one!!!!!!(we liked that one though).

90's were not just Britain's golden era but the entire world's too !
This is such a fab tune
I'm looking for a song between the mid 90's till 2005, I always thought it was Supergrass but it's not. I only remember the end of the song with the lead signer (a young man) singing haha-haha what-a-ta and then a men choir reapeting haha-haha what-a-ta with a depper voice, thanks a lot
Strap on Sally chased us down the alley! Quality.
Yeh that one gets me every-time lol.
are thay still going.?
David Kavanagh No. They split up while trying to record their 2nd album…….the lead singer and John Squire didn't get on
cheers
TubbyBeaver Sounds familiar.
The Squirehorses-great track
2019 and still a banging tune
2020 too.
2021. July 10 🇬🇧🏴
It's been years since I last heard this song! I totally LOVED the Seahorses when I was like 15... I was probably their only fan in Thailand too, lol.
I wish I had the album on CD or MP3 though. I only have the cassette and I'm pretty sure it doesn't work anymore.
Thanx for the upload. This is awesome.
one of the most solid bands ive heard in decades....sweet
Remeber to see them live in Prague and Leicester.. Amazing! Loved that!!!
Rcently saw Chris Helme solo at a gig with Mark Morriss (Bluetones) and Nigel from Dodgy. Chris Helmes voice is lush, better if that's possible than back in the day. I recommend giving him a watch if he plays nearby.x.
my insperation while being lucky enough to breath bournemouth fresh air! 20 years back from now , hgope you well if you ever read this terry , jamie, zac, deacons got closed :)
My singing teacher introduced this to me today, what a tune!
