Couple of points to appreciate: They are a 'Live' band predominantly (you probably gathered that from Lollapalooza) and they're Japanese (well... duh) so to get the crowd involved they often build in chantable elements that any audience can get behind. For this reason some of their studio stuff might not have quite the same impact as they're designed for an audience. You'll understand everything when you watch the live of this.
You know, that’s actually some excellent points that I didn’t really consider! I’m listening to it from a western experience, and also comparing it to western music that’s similar tonally. I didn’t think to consider their experience and how they can translate to a foreign audience. They're just fun and even though they work really hard, they don't take themselves too seriously.

Band-Maid not only does great in the studio but really sizzles live and are in their true element onstage with powerful performances. Seriously. Just pick ANY song by these Ladies, and it will be a good song. Some are better than others, some are flat out BANGING! But they really do NOT have any bad songs.
The Maids are a revelation in any live setting, especially a small one ! Coincidentally, i saw them at St Andrews Hall in Detroit ( Originally built for a Scottish Fraternity about 100 years ago ) . A showcase of popular Scottish artists would be interesting. I'm not familiar with very many. I know 80s pop singer Sheena Easton, 90s rockers Garbage, and the synth-pop band Chvrches. Apart from those, the biggest musical names I can think of from Scotland are ironically most known for being members of Australian bands - Colin Haye from Men at Work, and Angus and Malcolm Young from AC/DC, lol!

If you're interested in the instrumental side of BAND-MAID, listen to FromNowOn, Onset and WithoutHoldingBack. Because they contain a lot of rock music essence. You'll be thinking about the effect of the vocals and the musicality behind them. Of course, I recommend Domination Live and Freedom Live. Because BAND-MAID is an excellent live performance band.
During the course of one's life, you may have a band once a decade or so that greatly impacts in a positive way your entire life. This band is definitely one of them for me. Another is a Scottish band (since you were talking about that) - The Delgados.

Any serious Maidiac (That's what you're becoming ) Has a long list of favorites ! The official video for BLOOMING or WONDERLAND is a must...as is BUBBLE ! These are all from the frequently undervalued CONQUERER album ! Some people see it as more of a musically experimental album for Band Maid . Maidiacs see it as more perfection !
Totally agree about the Coheed and Cambria, at least at times. But they have a lot or styes. So, how about a couple or three totally different songs. Influencer, From Now On, and Blooming. There's about 50 more great ones, and a further 50 good ones. So take your time.
It's about BAND-MAID dominating the world with their music, which is their self-stated goal, however... Dude. We need to give you a Do Over. It's a common mistake. Not that there's anything wrong with the OMV, but the LIVE version is just so much better. You have no idea. You have to go back for it, right away. No hesitating. Go. But sure do local bands, after you get through the over 100 plus BAND-MAID songs starting with 'Domination' LIVE. I guess you can call yourself a Maidian, but more correctly you're a New Maidiac. Rinne and No God are nice heavy rock songs. They have ten years of great music. From Punkish early influences to poppy to the harder sound they went for when they were able to write their own songs. But Memorable is a great Ballad and About Us is a ballad. Their live version often give a different vibe to the song compared to the recorded versions. They also have a few acoustic versions that can again just be like a different song again. More than just a simple version. Anyway Rinne and No God and anyone you like. Going way back they is Before Yesterday which they didn't write but is still great song for me......... Your idea bout highlighting different Scottish bands. Go for it. Will be great.
Please my good Sir listen to the Live version from their TH-cam page. Somethings might not sound as clean but there is a lot more IMHO to be had from the Live version.

The band does a lot of their songs as instrumentals just to show that, though the stated reason is to help fans learn the instrumental parts easier.

Damn.. I'm sure other people will say the same shit but for this band always go for official live videos. Don't know what it is about them but for some reason their live stuff is 100 times better.
For some reason, their studio mixes tend to have Miku’s backing vocals mixed way too low, and they add a lot. Usually, you can hear Misa’s bass better live also, but it’s mixed low in Domination’s official live. That aside, they all feed off the audience energy, and it’s like a feedback loop you get caught up in. It might not always actually sound better, but you feel better because it’s so fun.

The interesting thing is that you made the "mistake" of reacting to their studio recording, rather than their live version. (Oh, come on, there must be a *tonne* of comments about this by now, if comments do carry any weight at least). Personally, I think it's a great thing - you now get to compare the studio version with the live version. This is especially since you paid quite a lot of attention to the details behind the studio version. (I'm actually quite impressed at this reaction btw). The vocals are much better on the live video, but the guitars are better here. The guitars on the Cube Shibuya are too low in the mix, which is unfortunate because the performance is absolutely amazing.

Any serious Maidiac (That's what you're becoming ) Has a long list of favorites ! The official video for BLOOMING or WONDERLAND is a must...as is BUBBLE ! These are all from the frequently undervalued CONQUERER album ! Some people see it as more of a musically experimental album for Band Maid . Maidiacs see it as more perfection !

Totally agree about the Coheed and Cambria, at least at times. But they have a lot or styes. So, how about a couple or three totally different songs. Influencer, From Now On, and Blooming. There's about 50 more great ones, and a further 50 good ones. So take your time.

It's about BAND-MAID dominating the world with their music, which is their self-stated goal, however... Dude. We need to give you a Do Over. It's a common mistake. Not that there's anything wrong with the OMV, but the LIVE version is just so much better. You have no idea. You have to go back for it, right away. No hesitating. Go. But sure do local bands, after you get through the over 100 plus BAND-MAID songs starting with 'Domination' LIVE. I guess you can call yourself a Maidian, but more correctly you're a New Maidiac. Enjoy The Ride!

Rinne and No God are nice heavy rock songs. They have ten years of great music. From Punkish early influences to poppy to the harder sound they went for when they were able to write their own songs. But Memorable is a great Ballad and About Us is a ballad. Their live version often give a different vibe to the song compared to the recorded versions. They also have a few acoustic versions that can again just be like a different song again. More than just a simple version. Anyway Rinne and No God and anyone you like. Going way back they is Before Yesterday which they didn't write but is still great song for me......... Your idea bout highlighting different Scottish bands. Go for it. Will be great.
Please my good Sir listen to the Live version from their TH-cam page. Somethings might not sound as clean but there is a lot more IMHO to be had from the Live version.

@@markabusireactionsNo. The live shows them in top gear. The instrumental shows how much the vocals can change their songs. Most of their songs have complexities hidden by the vocals. The band does a lot of their songs as instrumentals just to show that, though the stated reason is to help fans learn the instrumental parts easier.

Damn.. I'm sure other people will say the same shit but for this band always go for official live videos. Don't know what it is about them but for some reason their live stuff is 100 times better.

For some reason, their studio mixes tend to have Miku’s backing vocals mixed way too low, and they add a lot. Usually, you can hear Misa’s bass better live also, but it’s mixed low in Domination’s official live. That aside, they all feed off the audience energy, and it’s like a feedback loop you get caught up in. It might not always actually sound better, but you feel better because it’s so fun.
@@daaaaaave I think they go a little overboard with the mixing on their studio albums and add things that don't need to be added, but live is f'ing awesome with this band. And of course entertaining af.
The interesting thing is that you made the "mistake" of reacting to their studio recording, rather than their live version. (Oh, come on, there must be a *tonne* of comments about this by now, if comments do carry any weight at least). Personally, I think it's a great thing - you now get to compare the studio version with the live version. This is especially since you paid quite a lot of attention to the details behind the studio version. (I'm actually quite impressed at this reaction btw).
So, please follow up this reaction with the live version of Domination. Feel free to replay back the studio version to compare both versions and react away!

The vocals are much better on the live video, but the guitars are better here. The guitars on the Cube Shibuya are too low in the mix, which is unfortunate because the performance is absolutely amazing.
