I'm the same. My advice 🙋 ⚠1. Prep properly: Make sure to prep your eye area with eyeshadow primer. If using concealer instead, make sure to set with powder/eyeshadow. Set your eyeliner up for success. (Bonus tip: eyeshadow primer doubles as mascara primer.) ⚠2. Reconsider the tool: If you can manage it, my protip is use a ✨GEL LINER IN A POT✨ (even to tightline). I used a Physicians Formula gel eyeliner in a pot for a long time and it sticks _extremely_ well after it dries down properly. Gel liners from a pot fucking _stick._ (I understand, pencils are convenient, but if you want longevity you gotta sacrifice some.) ⚠3. Placement Placement Placement (for top waterline): Unlike lining the bottom waterline, tightlining the top doesn't mean going all the way to your eyeball (where the product is more likely to meet eyeball fluids). You just have to apply the product _BETWEEN YOUR EYELASHES!!_ Stipple it throughout your eyelashes where they grow out of your eyelid. It achieves the effect of making your lashes look fuller (and that's enough for me. Unless you want to rock a super blacked-out smokey eye and zero flesh can peek through-then smudging is a non-consideration). I've made the mistake of lining the top like how people run a pencil along the bottom, and smudges galore whoohoo :D ⚠4. Consider your anatomy: Do you have hooded eyes? Low brows? Does that cause the smudging? If so, find an eyeliner shape that works best _for you._ Everyone is different. Trial and error. (Most Caucasian/Western makeup tutorials don't work on me. I simply don't have the anatomy for a 4-colour halo cut-crease McSmokeyEye with 30º winged liner.) I'm scared of pencils bc i'm not sure how well they hold up. Companies can claim waterproof sebum-proof whatever, but at the end of the day products work differently on diff people. But supposedly kohl pencils do well with oils bc kohl binds to it (I haven't tried though). Hope this helps somewhat 💁
The information I was looking for is how budge proof the eyeliner is on oily lids. This information is missing in your video. I have moderately oily lids and find that most pencil eyeliners give me raccoon eyes after wearing for a couple of hours.
Hopefully someone with monolids can help answer this! My lids are pretty oily and essence and l'oreal hold up really well (they're the ones I wear the most often)

I don't know about freezing as not sure how the defrosting would impact the quality of the product but my sister has lived in Dubai for over 20 years and she swears by refrigerating pencils prior to sharpening ❤

are you sure you didn't get the brown wet n wild one? because there is a brown option, maybe you got brown instead of blackk and that's why it looks so brown
Omg! I was at the store the other day looking for liners..I am going to try the Essence!! I love their princess mascara! Where I very windy, very drying for eyes there for my eyes seem to over produce liquid 😂 so with liners can either evaporate or run down the face
I got the Infallible in a pretty copper color and brown. I loved them but for some reason they dried out which has never happened to me and I get jagged edges when I sharpen them too. I've cut my eyelids a few times and it scared the bejezzus out of my so I'm scared to use any eyeliners that don't sharpen smoothly anymore, haha. I can't live that dangerously. 🤣
OUCH!! Yeah I can totally understand that. The essence pencil can sharpen kind of jagged as well. As far as them drying out it really all depends on how tightly you put the cap on and where you're storing them!

I haven't tried either of those- it looks like the Long Lasting eye pencil isn't waterproof so that might be the main difference? besides the fact that it's retractable.

Elf . It was the worse. I thought listening to these videos would be a help. Both of the liners I bought were crap. Believe me when it comes to eye liners you get what you pay for. The best liner I have used is Thrive. It goes on beautifully. It stays in place. No more bargin basement brands for me. Thrive is 25 dollars but it is worth it. You will understand why people tightline after using Thrive.
Of course, cold water isn't really going to do anything. Try breathing your warm and steaming breath before wiping off....majority will smear off. It's the humidity that can really test out these liners.
please make a vedio for drug store brushes especially eye brushes, l really need them but have no clue which one are better choice. l need ur help finding that brushes for me.

Elf . It was the worse. I thought listening to these videos would be a help. Both of the liners I bought were crap. Believe me when it comes to eye liners you get what you pay for. The best liner I have used is Thrive. It goes on beautifully. It stays in place. No more bargin basement brands for me. Thrive is 25 dollars but it is worth it. You will understand why people tightline after using Thrive.

Of course, cold water isn't really going to do anything. Try breathing your warm and steaming breath before wiping off....majority will smear off. It's the humidity that can really test out these liners.

I believe it was lukewarm water that I conducted this particular test with!

Some people find it to last better than others on the waterline, I haven't had issues!
