@@tnafishing7 I live in Shadowcreek in Pearland. I fish mostly Galveston Bay.
What is your go to redfish/trout strategy for the summer months? I fish the lower Laguna madre and the water temps are rising. I’ve been finding pockets of 14” trout and small reds but can’t seem to find a lot of slot fish. Heading back out this weekend. Also, do you go out on windy days? It’s been pretty bad down here with 25+ mph winds/gusts
Man you’re not the only one struggling. I couldn’t get on a bite this morning. As for Summer months, get on the water as early as possible fishing edges of drop offs/channels near deep water for that trout bite. They’re going to push up shallow early in the morning then that bite will shut off real quick as the sun rises. Have to find the bait! Upper laguna, hard to find a decent redfish bite…If you have any marsh area in your area look in those for reds. Never seen a marsh in the summer that didn’t have redfish in it. I rarely go out on windy days unless I have to. Winds should start laying down this month for the summer.
@@tnafishing7 thanks for the info and love the vids! Getting an ascend 12t this coming weekend so get into some shallow marshes here in my area where my boat can’t get in. Hoping to find the reds in there. Got on a big school of mullet this morning up against some mangroves but not a single bite. It looked like there was only one red in there busting them up but couldn’t get him to bite anything. Started out with a top water then moved to swim baits and popping cork with shrimp and swimbaits and nothing seemed to work. Gonna try again tomorrow morning fishing off the edge of a decent sand bar that has a steep drop off and we’ll see what happens
