    Thank you for the video! Just got through in less than one hour and door now works great. Hyundai wanted $680, I did for $14.

    2007 Kia Sedona. Your video was spot on. Even the "oh crap" moment after assembly where it didn't work till I closed it manually. Thanks so much! Wife is very happy now! 😁

    Thanks very much for the video. After watching I went to the dealer, got the motors for $24 each. Took about 45 min per door. You're a lifesaver.

    Keeping my 2008 Kia Sedona running -- this video helped immensely because my passenger side power door quit working. I can’t believe that something as small as that motor could cause such a problem. BUT, your video saved me a LOT of money and made fixing the problem very easy. $15 vs. hundreds at the dealership is great! (However, you were right about that tarry stuff they used around the inner plastic behind the door panel - that stuff was BAD!). Entire job took about An hour and was pretty easy. Thank you again for the video!!

    The dishonest Kia dealership quotes me $580 to fix this. Got the motor from their parts department for $16 and did it myself with your video. It was a lifesaver on a tight budget. Thank you!

      Yes I agree, the prices they charge for simple fixes like this are ridiculous, I'm glad the video helped you fix yours.

    Thank you for this video. I needed to replace both my actuator as the door was sticking and also the door handle which was broken. This video helped me knock out two problems and saved me the $300-400.00 my local mechanic would have charged. I estimate the Hyundai dealer would have been around $500-600.

    This was a great video! I can't thank you enough. I think the hardest part was getting the interior handle off which you specifically mention how to do. Everything was very precise as I was able to save $500 from the dealers quote by following your directions. Well done!

    Thank you so much! Just fixed my 2009. Only hiccup was I didn't notice that you had not taken out the window track, which I did. So, I wasn't sure which side of the cable it should be on. Also, make sure the track is lined up with the window when put back. I know..should be obvious, but I didn't notice that. Fortunately, I discovered it before putting it all back together. Again...thank you very much for this video!

    I just finished this job, and here are some of comments that need to be mentioned if you attempt this. 1) The easiest way to remove the back-most bottom screw on the door panel is to get the door near the closed position to where you can fit a screwdriver on the screw head with the handle being inside the cabin; I found it quite easy to lay on my back (on the ground, not on the floor board) with the door almost closed to remove and install that screw. 2) Have the door closed about 3 quarters (3/4) of the way when trying to remove and install the door panel. 3) Do no lower the window when doing this job; leave the window in the fully up position. 4) It is not necessary to disconnect the cable going to the housing that the little motor is installed into; the housing can be opened with it attached. 5) I found it necessary to remove the gears from the housing that the little motor is installed into, otherwise I could not get the gear teeth to mesh up; maybe it can be done, but I couldn't figure it out. There is a spring loaded wedge assembly that holds a smaller gear to the lid of that assembly that I removed. I suggest you attempt to install without removing the gears and only remove if it just won't go together. 6) The window guide must be positioned in front of the cable that attaches to the outside part of the door (this requires that the actuator unit be positioned first (not bolted in, or even the studs inserted into the holes; just get it in the correct orientation), then the window guide second to where the cable loops around the right side (on a driver side door) of the guide (otherwise it would intrude on the path of the window when operated. The window guide will need to be mounted (not necessarily tightened down) first before mounting the actuator assembly. It took me about an hour to and hour and half to complete; it was my first time to do this job (hopefully the last time too).

    Great video, wonderful detailed procedures. I just wonder what the actual problem is? Is the actuator motor dead, or just worn out? As you show, if you give the door a little pull, it will then open or close by itself. I am curious as to why that is. Also, does the track need lubrication?

    Hey Great video huge help. Quick question though, i have to replace both my passanger and driver actuators but, with the passanger side ive noticed that the pull cable on the fair back end of the door is hanging loose. Do you know if this is because my actuator isnt working?

    • @TheMrcHilton
      @TheMrcHilton  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, No I don't believe the actuator would have anything to do with that, If the cable is hanging loose, I'd guess it is broke or come off a pulley somewhere.

    Good Vid. TIP: when the handle on the sliding door breaks off (cheap plastic inside), you will have to remove everything as you did (except lil motor), they may sell you a Chrome and white inside colored handle that will Not match you paint job, so you can use the old inside part by taking the pin out on the thin end of old one and hook the new part from new chrome looking (really plastic) outer handle onto the old inside handle that has proper color (even dealer mechanics miss this one...) as well the dealers "pencil whip" the lifetime oil change if it has low mileage and/or you didn't buy it from their dealership (i offered to pay for the oil change if they would only do it right, they may have done this twice in a row 6 mo's apart. BEWARE of wheeler dealers.

      This video is for the auto sliding door, which automatically pulls it closed and latches it, not sure if that is whats going on with yours, but 800-1000 is the price the dealers charge to fix the issue on this video.

    What about the cable on the left? Not the one that goes to the exterior handle, not the one that is “l-shaped” and has a pinkish/peach color snap in part, and not the ball shaped one with the white snap/clip. It’s the one that’s to the left of all of that. In a oval shape with a square bottom. There is a cable there. I think it somehow connects, or runs through the black piece with the two small, silver screws. But I can’t figure it out

      Can't shut it manually. The door wont catch. Had to use a bungee cord. To keep it close. The open door alarm keeps beeping the whole time I drive it.

    • @TheMrcHilton
      @TheMrcHilton  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      gary Cooper The part you changed is for the power door, It won't affect you being able to manually close the door, I'd recheck everything, Has to be something didn't align up or maybe a rod is in a bind. make sure the rod on the latch beside the actuator is hooked up too. I believe there is 4 rods/cables total, 2 rods on the interior of the door, 1 cable for the outside handle, and 1 rod on the actuator.

    I put a door handle on my passenger sliding door on 2007 entourage today. Waiting for the motor to come in from korea to put it on the driver side. Everything is lined up. The original problem was the door would start to close and then it would not catch and reopen. Therefore I replaced the actuator. But now it doesn't do anything but beep. The doors hook mechanism doesn't close, it's not in a stuck position. I can move it up and down with my finger. It just won't close around it. Very confused.

      Yours sounds more like an issue with the door latch. The actuator on this video is for when the door wont open or close automatically with the power door button, For some reason it sounds like your latch is not latching even when you try and shut it manually, The door should still shut and close manually even when the power door isn't working, might have to replace the door latch. good luck.

    Host knows what he's doing, but would've been much better if there was another person holding the camera and he was just hosting and pointing things out because the camerashakes too often and the shots are real close making it hard to see what he's doing and what he's talking about.
