Thank you so much, I thought my printer had died! This error message came up a while back and i contacted Epson and he said that this model didn't have an inkpad, so i didn't do anything. Of course it died when I was in the middle of a work thing, watched your video on dismantling the printer which I did yesterday, then I went to your store and bought the bundle of ink pads and the reset key and then followed this video and my printer is back again! Turns out I most definitely do have an ink pad XP-860 my counter was at 104% it was completely full! This saved me buying a new printer and i enjoyed fixing it
It would be great if Epson support didn't always fall back on the "buy a new printer" as their one "solution" but glad you were able to find our videos and get it all fixed up. Another printer living it's next life :)
Thank you again Martin and the printer potty team, the really clear instructions on dismantling the printer were brilliant, note to self, most girls do not have a magnetized screwdriver! But we do have tweezers which I used for that awkward screw! Ages ago I spoke to Epson about the ink pad error and I got bad advice. Then when i got the error message a printers ink pad is at the end of its service life and it wouldn't work, I tried contacting Epson through Epson Support Portal, but the contact page was circular, couldn't find an email, contact number or eform, only an address where I could write them? It seems a pity to me that others would throw their printers away and add to the landfill. And I know how to maintain my printer a lot better now. When we first heard of WICReset (far too long ago!) we felt the same and it took a long time, a lot of testing and detailed communication with the developers before we felt confident that it was both legit and reliable. Haven't looked back since and have to give those same devs a great deal of credit for their hard work. We'd like to think we've helped along the way with documentation and other support too though..
This is an excellent service, ordered pad replacement and key, and got my Epson xp605 up and running again in no time, thanks to the videos on TH-cam and also step by step guide which came with the set. Highly recommended
Woo hoo! The life of my printer has been restored! I just wish I knew about this a year or so ago - I had a year older Epson ET that got the same message. My daughter looked for solutions and only found that the pads could not be replaced. Now that we recycled the printer, I'm thinking that we probably could have replaced the pads and not thrown a perfectly good printer out for recycling purposes. Happy that my ET2650 is ready to print again...
Recently ordered the XP2 kit with replacement pads and key for an Epson 540 - worked a dream - but disabled all my Anti-Virus (Windows Defender) and Firewalls as they were blocking proper connection but after that all worked fine thank you guys - excellent service
Brilliant video. Step by step clear instrutions, worked first time. The only thing I would point out is that I normally have my printer conected by WiFi but I conected by USB for the update - it means you get the same printer coming up twice on the utility, once for WiFi and again for USB - just make sure the USB version is selected.

You need to have a new key each time you need to reset but there’s nothing stopping you resetting again. Only the trial key is limited for obvious reasons.
The ET2650 has an option for that in the maintenance menu on the printer itself… I think. Not convinced there’s a function without WICReset itself though.
It depends on which printer model you have... Our Printer Potty kits and waste pads usually come with or have instructions written for them, most are in printed booklet form.
The “WIC” app from InkChip is completely different from “WICReset” and we don’t support or use it ourselves. If you decide to switch to the WICReset app you can get all the information for downloading, using and troubleshooting here: Https://www.octoink.co.uk/goreset
That's a known issue right now. The WIFI connection seems to have been updated by Microsoft in a way that blocks the reset command. The workaround is to use a USB cable connect and reset that way.
I have a problem with the printer that does not let in the power button blinking and says please push the cartridges and says it has no ink when the cartridges are full it does not even come out with the epson brands and it is theirs epson work force expression home xp 5100 thanks if you can help me or make a video

Recommend you: 1. install the driver for your printer from the Epson support site. 2. Try using a usb connection rather than wifi if you’re trying to use the latter. 3. Try a different usb cable and/or socket in your pc 4. Try disabling your antivirus temporarily while you attempt to reset
I used the reset WIC Reset programme. The status from the programme shows 0%. But when I printed out the printer usage in my printer the printed page counter was the same amount of printed pages as before I used the programme. Shouldn’t the new usage printout show 0 printed pages?
The reset process only resets the waste ink counter(s). It doesn't reset any of the other usage data like page or printheads pass counts so this is as intended.
It can be a range of things but mostly when the printer hits something where either a sensor isn't working, some function fails a self test or similar... and of course when one of the waste ink counters hits 100% and the printer decides it's time for a nappy change.
Hi Ron... The ET-4760 is equipped with something called a "maintenance box" (ref: T04D1) which is basically a waste ink kit with a chip on it. You can't reset the main* waste ink counter on it with software but you can use a compatible chip resetter. Your printer does have more than just the main waste counter. If your platen pad waste ink counter hits the limit then the 2manuals.com version of the WICReset tool will reset that specific waste ink counter. Worth noting that the WICReset app is still useful for diagnosing errors and getting other information so it's still worth getting and using it when you're having problems to help diagnose what's happening.
Regrettably the XP-510, 520, 540 and your XP-530 are all hamstrung by a design decision that Epson made. Specifically they put half capacity pads (and corresponding waste ink counter limit) compared to the XP-600 series which have a full pad holder and more waste counter capacity too. You may be able to locate a service utility that can be used multiple time to reset the waste ink counter to offset the cost but if you opt for that route, take care to check there is no malware, trojan, etc... hidden in the utility as that is a very real risk with some vendors. Hope that's of some help and completely understand your frustration.
More context would help with diagnosing the problem here. But most common causes/fixes are: 1. The printer has more than a waste ink counter issue (eg: paper jam, general error, etc..) which needs to be cleared first. 2. The computer isn't communicating properly with the printer. If it's this try restarting the computer and printer then try the reset process again but do it once your PC restarts and before you use other software. Sometimes a reboot will allow the process to complete. For other options, I'd need to see the exact error message and have more detail of printer model, pc operating system, etc...

Antivirus can sometimes cause problems but temporarily disabling usually helps. Make sure you reenable once the reset has completed though.

When I try to open the downloaded inkchip wic, I get an error code 10661. Application can't be opened.

Chromebook is killing me trying to figure it out
Sorry to have to tell you this but Chromebook won’t work with WICReset. You need a Windows, MacOS or Debian linux machine.

Some Canon printers are covered but not many. You can download the utility it and check the “compatible models” tab for the list of those that are.

It should email out automatically. Delays are rare but sometimes payments are flagged for manual review by the payment processor.
