That Boss ship needs a variety of weapons and not just a single laser to be effective. Some regular missiles with factories would go a long way to countering small and distant ships.
Trying to pair ion weapons with pretty much any other weapon is a terrible idea. It means you forfeit the main advantage that ions give you, a fully armoured ship. Only deck guns can be paired with them successfully, and that is also not very good because the deck guns will stop crew from working, and will disrupt continuous fire, which is also, a terrible idea
You’ll have a lot more success pairing regular cannons with disruptors. Because both weapons are a wall weapon, you don’t get any disadvantage from lack of armour, and cannons tend to have a hard time against shielded ships, so the disruptors would help with that. The only flaw I can see is the combination of energy and kinetic weapons, it would most likely complicate ammo storage and the capacitor setup.
yeah play the system and see which ones people like the most, get the largest sample size possible by doing it in every video and looking at the video analytics.
When the Ion-Boss looses its armour, i think every little missile could hit the almost open bridges, but they dont. The little nuke buzzers must feel like a pest, but the only serious threat for it.
This is a really good game mode for boss battles. The point system making inflicting damage valuable, not only kills, is exactly what's needed for 1 v many. I've been watching your videos off and on and I think just a little bit more organization and planning would improve the quality dramatically. In nearly every video you've made there's an "oops I didn't configure something the way I meant to" type moment that could be solved by only a few minutes of taking notes and prep.
i don't know if you know but in arena mode if you doe friendly fire you get minus points and if you take damage to the circle you also take minus points

Arena is neat. I like the idea of rotating through the various game modes. perhaps do a run of a different mode for each video for a bit?

rail orbiters (such as the Art of Blade) are very good when there's 2 or more of them on the same team

If you ever feel like railguns are taking too much space, just increase the speed and watch the ability to micro the targeting disintegrate. x)
enjoy this game play it also makes the game more enjoyable as its you learn from mistakes where before its a 1 only
