Well i do not Stick to most Build , most view Videos ... i watch them to get Ideas ... but i Played Grim Dawn since Early Access and i have some Very Funny Builds ... The Goal is to have Fun ... and Survive ! There are so many ways to play this Game ... If you are in a Group you can also benefit from Buffs or Credit other Players with your Skills
I know this is old but I got into Grim Dawn super late, but this is 100% true. Some build guides are 45+ minutes long. What? Who watches that? I rarely watch a full build guide and just skip through to some parts, but this guys was so fast and to the point and well spoken that I was just entertained watching the entire thing.
Amazing guide as always! I started a purifier a little while ago and I'm only level 54 at the moment, but I'll be coming back to this guide once I get closer to the end game :)

It seems that everyone here has missed the obvious fact. The Dagallon set and the armor bonus from the Justicar set are not exclusive. You can complete both the Dagallon and then equip the Justicar shoulder and gloves to get the armor bonuses. Moreover, the shoulders is the only set item that gives armor bonus. In fact, I replaced my shoulder and gloves with the Justicar ones and added bloodied crystals to my rings to further boost my armor. I then "comfortably" hit 80SR. I cannot climb to 84SR though. Also, replacing my items with the Justicar ones didn't cost me any dps as just the gloves itself provides a large dps bonus. It can be literally used as a single item without caring about the rest of the set. Thank you for the build and armor suggestions.
Dagallon Purifier was my first build that I took to 100. I used to think that it had amazing damage. Then I built a darkblaze incinerator pyromancer. It puts the purifier to shame. It is by far the best firestrike based dual wield pistol build out there. But for whatever reason, I prefer cadence based gunslingers like the tactician or witchblade. Dual Havoc Warborn Tactician is my favorite class to play. It's not flashy, there are no explosions or meteors but it's the closest thing to a submachine gun I've found in the game.
I like how every build on forum or reddit is "new players friendly" with mythical legendary sets and lvl 94 items. By that point players aren't new to the game by any means. :)
This is a particularly easy build for new players because- 3 of the pieces you need to complete the core build can be crafted, one as a reputation reward. & The playstyle is very straight forward, so you dont need to be great at the game to kick some butt. I feel like thats a pretty good reason to call this build "new player friendly" as opposed to something like lategame spellbinders, which require careful concentration and rotations in order to not get whomped.
@@armoredotter2183 well, mechanically yes, I agree build is straight forward but "new" player need to get to Ultimate to farm missing pieces and not die from every story boss in the process
@@DmytroBogdan Isn't that true of every build, save for perhaps kriegs, which can be painstakingly farmed in elite? Firestrike has atleast pretty heavy blue and green support to help you along until you reach that point.
@@armoredotter2183 I meant not the items but actual skills. Killing trash mobs with early game fire strike is painfully slow compared to PRM, flash freeze or even Word of pain and you won't be able to stand on one spot either because its a single target damage
This build can destroy the campaign and nenesis with only the desolator wich is craftable and an infierno relic. You only need to stack fire dmg. So yes, it is very nwb friendly to me

I'm trying a build with the dagalon set but have yet to find the set, only have the chest. I think I have the legendaries for this one but not the weapon. I may try it since the dagalon version with dual wield is fun but super squishy.
Absolutely! Currently, my goal is to have 1 build for each playstyle, so im looking at doing a pet build breakdown next, but a bleed vitality conjurer was my first max level character and im definitely going to do a breakdown soon.

You have to get seven red then put a point in crossroads and make revenant then remove the red from crossroads. Don't put a point in the foot of ghoul. Use crossroads. Hope this helps.

Could this build melt all kind of nemesis and celestial now ? 2023 and grimdawn has patched into 1.197. hours on game i really strunggle build a good character with my own, some build is too weak for dungeon . I still on veteran and i haven't fought any nemesis yet.
Devotion can be very Tricky ... but since you can Reset All Skills ,Devotions and Attributes ( Points invested in Classes 1-50 cannot be respecced ) You are totally Free to try what is good and what will kill you . In the Devotion Trees you can also Gamble with the Points on Self holding Abilitys by getting Points from Constellations and then keeping them and Respecc some Skills that you needed to get that Star Sighn by recovering Points My Death Knight has for Example 3 "Self Holding" Devotions which i only got because i could remove other Points i spend earlier

How should I spread my attribute points? How should I spread points through the Skill Tree? I'm a new player so those things really makes me confused. Idk if I should spend everything in Demolitionist and then Inquisitor, or switch from one to another while leveling. Really, I've no idea. :D
Hi Cristian. Put 77 into Physique and 30 into Cunning. This is as per the GrimTools link that AO has shared in his video's description. From my experience of having levelled a Purifer till clvl 65, I think beginning with Demolitionist makes more sense since your primary skill is in that class. In fact, that class alone can carry you till clvl 40 - 50, at which point or possibly before it, you should comfortable to move over to Inquisitor class.

Fire strike purifier is my main choice of gameplay since Ashes of Malmouth. Also, do you consider Flame Keeper's set viable? It's what I use and it punches hard but Im looking for something else. Excellent content here, simple and concise. You got a sub today.
I'm currently running a level 40 purifier - where should I prioritise my points as I progress? I think I may be spreading them between too many of the skills
this build is strong, no doubt. But what is the reason for being the "strongEST" range AA build ever? really curious about how it performs with end-game content, can it do sub 4 min crucible or go to SR 9x or even 10x? Dagallon is only playable in campaign, because it has zero defense (at least for me, both fire or lightning dagallon i cannot clear Crucible Gla 170). But i've already seen Valdun Purifier can achieve very good results both cru and SR, so can you more specific for this "STRONGEST" range build?
You know how youtube works, put a clickbait title and get views ( not that many obviously since GD doesn't have a big following anyways), but without a gt link given, you can just press X to doubt its performance.
One thing, no need to max fire strike, "chance to be used" REPLACE the main attack fire strike so you have (100% - Total chance to be used) to use fire strike, and it is max 40% with bursting round chilling round and storm spread wich you wanna soft Cap to increase weapon damage on each using the extra point from fire strike (even more accurate with pyroclasm mark).
@@fmlAllthetime the chances to actually proc fire strike are low if you have a lot of "chance to be used" skills Let say you have 20% spreading storm, 20% chilling storm and 20% bursting round for a total of 60%, it means that you will proc fire strike only 40% of the time you shoot Add 2 seal of the void on both your 1 handed guns for 16% each and your will proc your fire strike only 8% of the time you shoot. Then it s not worth maxing fire strike Is it more clear ?
Is the seal of the void worth it over the fire seal`? i have a fire dual wield purifier and i'm scared that the 10% (or in my case 20%) phys to chaos conversion will negatively balance out the WPS
Your phys damage overall should be almost entirely negligible and the attack speed and WPS from seal of the void is too good to pass up. I would say seal of the void is right 99.9% of times.
the set you using is off-base because you cant fully utilize the set bonus dagallon set is best for the purifier build the justicar set is best for melee builds especially soldier builds
The guide showed you using Rhowan Crown for the reduced resistance, but in the grimtool calc, you uses Revenant? does it gives better / stronger procs / effects?

Grim tools doesn't have Rhowan's Crown as one of the constellations. How come? Are we supposed to drop another constellation then pick up Rhowan's Crown? Also, for the skills, Can you list the skill name in the order to get them and how many points in each (easier to follow). Keep up the good work :)
Nice... I’ve got one of those through hardcore to 100, also using one in softcore for Lokarr farming - can do him in 20-ish seconds consistently. But... I’ve also got a dual range pyro with full darkblaze gear to 100 in both soft and hc, and I prefer playing it from both a performance and fun perspective. Pyro has blood of dreeg instead of seal, so there’s no ‘standing on the seal’ to limit your krazy kiting, and the full-on chaos damage melts ‘almost’ everything. Mad Queen in under 7 seconds, for example.

1 point into crossroad (red) then viper ( ttl now is 3) then make your way to kraken (ttl now is 5) then solael witchblade (ttl now is 6) then hydra (ttl now is 8) then revenant (ttl now is 9) Ulzuin torch now is ready for you respec your cross road so you can use it for other devotion do not rush for ulzuin torch first as you it will be hard to respec the devotion points
I'm a new player and I'm confused on the demolitions tree part. You mention puting only one point in one place but it looks as if you already have 5 there. Also what does it mean to soft cap?
the additionsl points come from the items that provide +1 or more ability points. soft cap is when you have enough points to cap the abilty, e.g. only investing 5-6 points but due to plus items, you get 10-12 total points.... that means, you dont need to over cap the points.
I know most people mod this game to get the items they need because trade doesn't exist, but i wish there was a reasonable way to get all these legendaries for the various builds.
I have this build leveled up now but i'm new to the game so i have questions about your gear. It would be nice if u could answer these! 1) Why u use Bane Relic and not something else? 2) How do i get Chausses of Barbaros and Wyrmscale Footguards? These don't seem to drop for me :>
Don't bother with side tracks. The slower you are on each area, the slower you gets to leveling in general. It's a bit counter-intuitive at first, but higher area gives higher leveled enemies, which gives you more EXP if you're underleveled. Side quest could helps, but don't bother exploring all nooks and cranny of any areas
@@TheGreatBubba well you should kill some monsters along the way. Refer to that grimtools map, and basically find the efficient ways instead of exploring the entire areas Also, makes sure to make "leveling build" in case you only found end-game builds. For example, cabalist would feels much smoother to level using pets, either skeletons or bird + wolf occultist. Or in case you don't like pets, blood of dreeg with maxed blood burst and pox would be good enough for clearing. I'm not sure about the single target damage, tho

Even though dervish is typically used as an auto attacking class, I think its likely the best poison based spin to win combination. Definitely look into the korvan dunefiend set!
You can do an Acid Warlord Build which most people recommend ... I did a Fire Warlord with 5 Immortal Empyrion Guards with the Spin to win and so i rather Recommend YOU to try and Error do not hesitate to try out Different Items and Setups And make the Class you Play and love your OWN This Game is so Complex ... and Group Play with others is even more there are some Group Combos which will output so much DPS you cannot even think of
My suggestion is to pick inquisitor first and level up with Word of Pain and its linked nodes. Respec cost is negligible, I'm at level 70 and Word of Pain still clearing crowds.
I would say as a rule of thumb, dump into phys for health and DA, but otherwise, your main damage component is fire, so spirit is your damage attribute, while cunning gets you a higher OA.
I played Grim Dawn for the first time and used this build. I’m not new to the ARPG genre so I know the ropes. However, one thing I find difficult for this build in early game is the lack of mobility to kite strong enemies. There is no mobility/blink skill that I can use, even a simple backflip or dodge slide at all :(

Stay alert. The revenant in grimtools devotion is an error. If you spend points there you no can put points in Rowan's Crown.

Well, it can do glad 150-170 with extra spawns in 5:30 and I plowed through SR 75 without a problem. Valdun is certaintly a contender as well.

One thing, no need to max fire strike, "chance to be used" REPLACE the main attack fire strike so you have (100% - Total chance to be used) to use fire strike, and it is max 40% with bursting round chilling round and storm spread wich you wanna soft Cap to increase weapon damage on each using the extra point from fire strike (even more accurate with pyroclasm mark).

@@fmlAllthetime the chances to actually proc fire strike are low if you have a lot of "chance to be used" skills
Let say you have 20% spreading storm, 20% chilling storm and 20% bursting round for a total of 60%, it means that you will proc fire strike only 40% of the time you shoot
Add 2 seal of the void on both your 1 handed guns for 16% each and your will proc your fire strike only 8% of the time you shoot. Then it s not worth maxing fire strike

@@mattdelupr2025 I hope you learned by now that fire stike is a default attack replacer (DAR) and thus stacks with wps, they don't cancel each other.

a little continuity error. They are interchangeable since both offer flat RR. Choice is truly up to you.

Is the seal of the void worth it over the fire seal`? i have a fire dual wield purifier and i'm scared that the 10% (or in my case 20%) phys to chaos conversion will negatively balance out the WPS
Your phys damage overall should be almost entirely negligible and the attack speed and WPS from seal of the void is too good to pass up. I would say seal of the void is right 99.9% of times.
the set you using is off-base because you cant fully utilize the set bonus dagallon set is best for the purifier build the justicar set is best for melee builds especially soldier builds
The guide showed you using Rhowan Crown for the reduced resistance, but in the grimtool calc, you uses Revenant? does it gives better / stronger procs / effects?
Rhowan's crown will give you slightly more RR, but revnant has better nodes for survivability and 2 relevant devotions for dying god.
Tried to run this build, but it seems like it's doing more physical damage than fire. Anything I'm missing?

Have not spent any point in devotions :/ not sure how to go about it. Grim tools doesn't have Rhowan's Crown as one of the constellations. How come? Are we supposed to drop another constellation then pick up Rhowan's Crown?
Also, for the skills, Can you list the skill name in the order to get them and how many points in each (easier to follow).

Nice... I’ve got one of those through hardcore to 100, also using one in softcore for Lokarr farming - can do him in 20-ish seconds consistently. But... I’ve also got a dual range pyro with full darkblaze gear to 100 in both soft and hc, and I prefer playing it from both a performance and fun perspective. Pyro has blood of dreeg instead of seal, so there’s no ‘standing on the seal’ to limit your krazy kiting, and the full-on chaos damage melts ‘almost’ everything. Mad Queen in under 7 seconds, for example.

Absolutely! Fires Strike is a very forgiving build, so even if you dont have all the necessary gear, this build still slaps!

1 point into crossroad (red)
then viper ( ttl now is 3)
then make your way to kraken (ttl now is 5)
then solael witchblade (ttl now is 6)
then hydra (ttl now is 8)
then revenant (ttl now is 9)
Ulzuin torch now is ready for you
respec your cross road so you can use it for other devotion
do not rush for ulzuin torch first as you it will be hard to respec the devotion points
I'm a new player and I'm confused on the demolitions tree part. You mention puting only one point in one place but it looks as if you already have 5 there. Also what does it mean to soft cap?
the additionsl points come from the items that provide +1 or more ability points. soft cap is when you have enough points to cap the abilty, e.g. only investing 5-6 points but due to plus items, you get 10-12 total points.... that means, you dont need to over cap the points.
I know most people mod this game to get the items they need because trade doesn't exist, but i wish there was a reasonable way to get all these legendaries for the various builds.

what do you recommend doing for getting a character to level 50 quickly? im not really diggin my cabalist character
Don't bother with side tracks.
The slower you are on each area, the slower you gets to leveling in general.
It's a bit counter-intuitive at first, but higher area gives higher leveled enemies, which gives you more EXP if you're underleveled.
Side quest could helps, but don't bother exploring all nooks and cranny of any areas

@@TheGreatBubba well you should kill some monsters along the way.
Refer to that grimtools map, and basically find the efficient ways instead of exploring the entire areas
Also, makes sure to make "leveling build" in case you only found end-game builds.
For example, cabalist would feels much smoother to level using pets, either skeletons or bird + wolf occultist.
Or in case you don't like pets, blood of dreeg with maxed blood burst and pox would be good enough for clearing. I'm not sure about the single target damage, tho

In general, go for phys as your highest stat, while spirit and cunning should be just enough to equip the necessary gear.

I've been watching your videos recently, your explanations are just awesome! I am kind of new player but got two strong builds already. I am planning to make a poison spin to win, any suggestions?
Even though dervish is typically used as an auto attacking class, I think its likely the best poison based spin to win combination. Definitely look into the korvan dunefiend set!

I did a Fire Warlord with 5 Immortal Empyrion Guards with the Spin to win and so i rather Recommend YOU to try and Error do not hesitate to try out Different Items and Setups
And make the Class you Play and love your OWN
This Game is so Complex ... and Group Play with others is even more there are some Group Combos which will output so much DPS you cannot even think of

Build still works in 2021..but Grimtool shows one wrong devotion..instead of rowans crown it got Revenant..

My suggestion is to pick inquisitor first and level up with Word of Pain and its linked nodes. Respec cost is negligible, I'm at level 70 and Word of Pain still clearing crowds.
Dump point in spirit to damage in this build?or cunning?
I would say as a rule of thumb, dump into phys for health and DA, but otherwise, your main damage component is fire, so spirit is your damage attribute, while cunning gets you a higher OA.

I played Grim Dawn for the first time and used this build. I’m not new to the ARPG genre so I know the ropes. However, one thing I find difficult for this build in early game is the lack of mobility to kite strong enemies. There is no mobility/blink skill that I can use, even a simple backflip or dodge slide at all :(
yeah its lame you need to be lvl 90 to have a blink
I'm lvl 68 purifier and can't get past Warden on elite difficulty, Yes I have aether resist, it doesn't help.
