Note #:1 regarding the "lacking points in Crossroads, so how do I get other [insert name] constellation" question related to some of the builds: in the devotion system, you can refund the points spent in any constellation anytime - and the Crossroads is not an exclusion. Later in the game, if you are able to get a stronger constellation without a certain point in the Crossroads, it's better to invest that point into something else for a better bonus. But ofc, at first, you always begin from the Crossroads. This said, I've updated most of the build links where possible, and "reverted" couple of points to show the initial Crossroads distribution. There is nothing to have hopes about here sadly. Its made by THQ Nordic which is known to make mediocre games - not great, not terrible. No original TQ devs are participating in this project. With utmost probability, this game will be just an empty husk made with only goal - to milk old fans exploiting their nostalgy.
Love Grim Dawn!! Aint got alot of hours in it about 60ish but I played it more than Last epoch. So for being old its still better than 90% of these newer games.
What's better in your opinion, The APOSTATE build in this video or the Warder build from your "Grim Dawn - Top 6 IMMORTAL Builds For Everyone", which one is best for Ultimate difficulty u think?
love GD, cant remember when exactly i stopped playing after over 1500 hrs some time ago. But i know i got fed up with so much loot, I kept making new builds, never going back to those earlier builds. The overwhelming amount of loot did diminish some of that golden drop rush you would get in say D2 or TQ. Other than that, its fantastic. So many people have slept on it.

the vindicator build is no joke. been playing it with a fresh char and the combination or the three ammo type skills is crazy. didn't even mean to build into it like in this build, just happened onto it by saying "I want to be a gunslinger this time." absolutely decimating enemy heroes with 300K+ hp.
When I click on the build calculator link, it just shows me a screenshot of the character with some items and stats. Does it show where to allocate the skill points? Thanks
Got another question on the vindicator build. If most of your damage is from physical to elemental conversion is it better to use devotions that help physical damage then? Also, if I wanted more elemental damage wouldnt puttint some points into spirit be good? Thnx you
Afaik % damage increase applies after conversion, flat damage applies before conversion. So flat physical would indeed increase your elemental damage, but % physical would do nothing for you, because by the time it applies, your physical damage is already converted to elemental damage.

What ratio of attribute point do you recommend for the cabalist pet build? the build guide link does not have them allocated. I've been doing kinda 50/50 so far or if I need more of something for an item i spec into that bit more, but this is the first time I play GD so im not sure how much attributes makes a difference in end game or if it's more of an item requirement thing. I tried dual gun with demolitionist + inquisitor, use fire damage as main type (also use guns with fire damage), it's bit fun but hard to find suitable equipments... I'm now thinking about making a new dual gun build for aether/vitality damage main, should I go with arcanist or necromancer? or, just have them together with a Gunslinger's Talisman?

You need to invest into crossroads ofc. Just in the late game, you can unlearn the crossroads points if your constellations meet the requirements, and put the points into something stronger.
These builds can handle cubacabra mogdrogen scion of sand etc bosses? Cubacabra nemesis easy killing with one hit my strong pyromancer. i am looking for nemesis hunter build.
Nemesis bosses these builds can take on without issues. As for the superbosses - some can, some not. Look in my latest builds video released after this one - in it, every build can kill superbosses easily.
Buddy, I'm writing about the Apostate and I want to clarify the moment with the attributes. In GDBC and in the game itself, what exactly is the number of nested points of physique and cunning should be? Because I checked in BC (build calculator) and there was some kind of inconsistency in attributes (I invested 55P/51C, which gave 839P/681C) because some clothes require a greater amount of character strength. Well, or I don't understand something...
is there any way we can get a leveling or something like that for the vindicator build? im trying it but im new so im not sure on what to level first or how to build early for what damage types. thanks!

Been following this build guide for awhile now and I am just now starting Forgotten Gods for the first time. However, the one thing that I have to ask (Love the build ALOT) has anything in 1.20 patch changed anything about the vindicator build?

Hello, really interested in doing Apostate for my first playthrough. Has it been nerfed in the recent patches since video went ou or should it still be a go?
Devotions order is never same for everyone. If you lack damage right now with your current gear, you take damage constellations first. If you lack survivability, you take defensive constellations :)
It won't kill superbosses without lots of kiting (and still will die from some oneshots, so it'll take several attempts) and certain parts of roguelike (hardest in the game) dungeons will be a challenge due to this build still being a glass cannon. At the same time, it's dungeons clearing speed is absolutely incredible. You can always adjust the build here and there when you'll grow a bit more experienced with the game yourself - and as you said, it's super fun to play visually during all stages of the game.
thanks for the info. Im now lvl 41. Havnt switched to duel wield yet though as I havnt found any good single weapon firearms yet. So actually still rocking the storm box skill as the single ranged weapon isn’t too good for mobs of enemies. It started off feeling kind of dull levelling but now starting to look a little cooler with the added skills.
The easiest build i have is my blackwater Grenado build. I have a legacy offhand that adds thousands of dot to blackfire. It melts anything in a second
I'm having trouble doing the Devotion setup for the Vindicator build. If I put one point into the Ascendant crossroads node, that lets me fill the Harpy, which gets me a 6 Ascendant affinity, but then I don't seem to satisfy the conditions for any other other constellations that are filled out in the Vindicator build on grimtools. Where should I be putting my points after finishing the Harpy?

Hey there! Having all main Grim Dawn DLCs is mandatory, as they open new classes, mechanics and a great content. The trickster is probably the squishiest of them all here, but this is noticeable only at some bosses where you need to learn the attack patterns to avoid some of the one-shotting ones - it has good enough mobility for that. As for the rest of the enemy encounters, it has enough defence and lifesteal to instantly heal any damage, and due to its great AOE shredding damage bursts, enemies just don't live more than couple moments usually to even attempt this. It feels itself absolutely fine on Ultimate difficulty and clearing the roguelike endgame dungeons - but yes, it's a glass cannon build as it is.

There are spin to win builds in GD, and there are absolutely viable - played with one just couple weeks ago. I just didn't cover any of such yet in my build videos simply because I'm personally not the biggest fan of those. Hop in to our discord, I can drop you couple of spin-to-win build sketches.
Hi, Im returning after YEARS so thank you so much for this video. I am going to start your Apostate build, and Im a bit confused at the equipment - mostly the Dread Chill Grasp. It looks like you do mostly Vitality then Aether, but that item converts Vitality to Cold. There might be something about % stacking that I dont understand (or do you just aim for the roll with the lowest % conversion on that?), so you could explain that item choice? Also Im missing cold>vit, and that seems like it would be good? Im just a bit overwhelemed with the game so thanks for the help! I dont often use discord so a quick answer here would be super appreciated.
Heya! As the video intro says, these are builds that will be strong and fun to play even if your gear is far from being completed. That's exactly the case here - I just showed items that my character had at that point, and he was still bonking skulls. Cheers! P.S. its an ARPG, you will have more questions fo sho. It's not quite about "late" or "early" etc, bur more about enemy rank. Bosses are basically immune to "health reduction" effect, which makes this ability main feat useless on bosses. In my pov, it's pretty situative skill, useful for clearing large packs of weak enemies with AOE skills casted afterwards, but it's profit is arguable against champs and bosses. See yourself.
That's a secret quest. It has no quest markers, you have to follow the pointers and clues in lore notes. Don't spoil yourself with a wiki at least for now, try to find it out yourself - it's much more satisfying ;)
Hi, I am new to GD. I am an oltimer ARPG havvle lots of experience with PoE and Diablo franchise (although dead now). Neways, my question is. I've been using the Mage Hunter Arcanist Inquisitor build for this video to level up and go about my campaign. I was wondering if this is a good idea for a newcomer like me? I am already lvl 16 and so far so good. I see in the build guide that a lot of this gear is endgame. Should I just follow the stats used on the gear to gear up until I can start getting some nice loot afterwards? I chose this since the video says it's for beginners. I just don't want to run into a wall and not know how to advance. Any tips would be much welcomed! Thanks again for the content

Great stuff. Though, -%RR is one of the most important stats in the game, so not taking Censure is a huge dps minus, even if you stay out of range for the majority of the time. (You could convert elemental into physical/pierce then it would totally be worth it, though you'd have to take word of pain) Still, great video. Love the editing. Keep up the good work. Heya! There's no universal "best" ability for all builds - so no, not taking Aura of Censure is not a minus for the build in the video (though ofc, -%RR is a sick dps bonus in general). Censure is great for melee builds or those ranged who are often fighting in a close quarters without having much danger in it. The build in the video is a glass cannon, and it mostly stays at good range, and Censure's range would simply either work against this build in terms of positioning, or would be not actually effective in most of the combat situations. Secondly, Conviction gives a solid physical resistance bonuses which is crucial for the build to avoid some oneshots as it's a glass cannon. Good to see the experienced players comments here! Now I'm level 50 goin into act 5 but feeling a lil weak, any tips or guidance about what should I do or get (items) now? Or just follow campaign?
Wow i was gonna be happy with just one or two builds that interested me. But theres at three or four that i want to try. I hope target farming for gear is more plausible than vanilla. Back when i last played, it was kind of impossible to get the specific legendaries needed on some builds.
It was never "impossible" - it's just RNG. RNG is an essential part of ARPGs. But, from what I recall, drop chances themselves were cranked up a bit compared to the release version of the game, yes.
I play this game for 600 hours,I think the best build for beginer is conjurer,pet build,chaos damage,or bleeding damage. The damage of Inquisitor is little low,and the Raise Skeletons are pretty weak ,and they are easy to die. I just finish this conjurer build ,and only one time death by an accident,if anyone wants to know more details,I am pleasure to answer.
Having DLC is a groundbase default for Grim Dawn. Game being 7 years old and reviews having overwhelmingly positive reviews hint on that pretty clearly.

Heya! You can max the blade burst from the first lvl, and after lvl 20 or so, respect the points from it into dw passive, pneumatic burst and ring of steel. ABB is a great skill for fast packs clearing in the beginning.

I'm not trying to stick up for Blizzard, cause fk them, but season 4 isn't too bad. That being said, it still gets stale fast, so I'm back to GD.

What damage type do you aim for lightning cold? Elemental? I see fire on the build too lol
Elemental is fire, cold and lightning, 1/3 each. But there are separate lightning, cold and fire damage sources too.

The Dual Wield Gunslinger looks nice, found your build on grimtools. How do I know which order to do devotions though?
Devotions order is never same for everyone. If you lack damage right now with your current gear, you take damage constellations first. If you lack survivability, you take defensive constellations :)

Sup! Pet builds are probably actually the most no-brainer to play, and also easy to levelup in early/mid game.

That Vindicator build looks so fun. Starting one today. How is it for end game?
It won't kill superbosses without lots of kiting (and still will die from some oneshots, so it'll take several attempts) and certain parts of roguelike (hardest in the game) dungeons will be a challenge due to this build still being a glass cannon. At the same time, it's dungeons clearing speed is absolutely incredible. You can always adjust the build here and there when you'll grow a bit more experienced with the game yourself - and as you said, it's super fun to play visually during all stages of the game.
thanks for the info. Im now lvl 41. Havnt switched to duel wield yet though as I havnt found any good single weapon firearms yet. So actually still rocking the storm box skill as the single ranged weapon isn’t too good for mobs of enemies. It started off feeling kind of dull levelling but now starting to look a little cooler with the added skills.

The easiest build i have is my blackwater Grenado build. I have a legacy offhand that adds thousands of dot to blackfire. It melts anything in a second

I'm having trouble doing the Devotion setup for the Vindicator build. If I put one point into the Ascendant crossroads node, that lets me fill the Harpy, which gets me a 6 Ascendant affinity, but then I don't seem to satisfy the conditions for any other other constellations that are filled out in the Vindicator build on grimtools. Where should I be putting my points after finishing the Harpy?
You can refund the points spent in the Crossroads after you don't need that point anymore as the gateway.

Absolutely the complete game version, DLCs are great, and they open new classes and farm methods.

Hey there! Having all main Grim Dawn DLCs is mandatory, as they open new classes, mechanics and a great content.
The trickster is probably the squishiest of them all here, but this is noticeable only at some bosses where you need to learn the attack patterns to avoid some of the one-shotting ones - it has good enough mobility for that. As for the rest of the enemy encounters, it has enough defence and lifesteal to instantly heal any damage, and due to its great AOE shredding damage bursts, enemies just don't live more than couple moments usually to even attempt this. It feels itself absolutely fine on Ultimate difficulty and clearing the roguelike endgame dungeons - but yes, it's a glass cannon build as it is.

Good list, enough to satisfy me but whats up with lacking spin to win builds in recent arpgs? According to survey thats the most desired build across gamers but its mediocre or less.
There are spin to win builds in GD, and there are absolutely viable - played with one just couple weeks ago. I just didn't cover any of such yet in my build videos simply because I'm personally not the biggest fan of those.

Hi, Im returning after YEARS so thank you so much for this video.
I am going to start your Apostate build, and Im a bit confused at the equipment - mostly the Dread Chill Grasp. It looks like you do mostly Vitality then Aether, but that item converts Vitality to Cold. There might be something about % stacking that I dont understand (or do you just aim for the roll with the lowest % conversion on that?), so you could explain that item choice?
Also Im missing cold>vit, and that seems like it would be good? Im just a bit overwhelemed with the game so thanks for the help!

Heya! As the video intro says, these are builds that will be strong and fun to play even if your gear is far from being completed. That's exactly the case here - I just showed items that my character had at that point, and he was still bonking skulls. Cheers!

Is bloody pox garbage late game?
It's not quite about "late" or "early" etc, bur more about enemy rank. Bosses are basically immune to "health reduction" effect, which makes this ability main feat useless on bosses. In my pov, it's pretty situative skill, useful for clearing large packs of weak enemies with AOE skills casted afterwards, but it's profit is arguable against champs and bosses. See yourself.

That's a secret quest. It has no quest markers, you have to follow the pointers and clues in lore notes. Don't spoil yourself with a wiki at least for now, try to find it out yourself - it's much more satisfying ;)

Hi, I am new to GD. I am an oltimer ARPG havvle lots of experience with PoE and Diablo franchise (although dead now). Neways, my question is. I've been using the Mage Hunter Arcanist Inquisitor build for this video to level up and go about my campaign. I was wondering if this is a good idea for a newcomer like me? I am already lvl 16 and so far so good. I see in the build guide that a lot of this gear is endgame. Should I just follow the stats used on the gear to gear up until I can start getting some nice loot afterwards?
I chose this since the video says it's for beginners. I just don't want to run into a wall and not know how to advance. Any tips would be much welcomed! Thanks again for the content

This video specifically mentions that builds in it are fun to play and strong no matter the experience and gear - so the gear in the calculator pages is just "what you can have", or even some random gear I had on my character at the moment of making this video. Great stuff. Though, -%RR is one of the most important stats in the game, so not taking Censure is a huge dps minus, even if you stay out of range for the majority of the time. (You could convert elemental into physical/pierce then it would totally be worth it, though you'd have to take word of pain)

Heya! There's no universal "best" ability for all builds - so no, not taking Aura of Censure is not a minus for the build in the video (though ofc, -%RR is a sick dps bonus in general). Censure is great for melee builds or those ranged who are often fighting in a close quarters without having much danger in it.
The build in the video is a glass cannon, and it mostly stays at good range, and Censure's range would simply either work against this build in terms of positioning, or would be not actually effective in most of the combat situations. Secondly, Conviction gives a solid physical resistance bonuses which is crucial for the build to avoid some oneshots as it's a glass cannon.

Wow i was gonna be happy with just one or two builds that interested me. But theres at three or four that i want to try. I hope target farming for gear is more plausible than vanilla. Back when i last played, it was kind of impossible to get the specific legendaries needed on some builds.
It was never "impossible" - it's just RNG. RNG is an essential part of ARPGs. But, from what I recall, drop chances themselves were cranked up a bit compared to the release version of the game, yes.

I play this game for 600 hours,I think the best build for beginer is conjurer,pet build,chaos damage,or bleeding damage. The damage of Inquisitor is little low,and the Raise Skeletons are pretty weak ,and they are easy to die. I just finish this conjurer build ,and only one time death by an accident,if anyone wants to know more details,I am pleasure to answer.
Next time mention which classes actually need the dlc before hardily recommending them.
Having DLC is a groundbase default for Grim Dawn. Game being 7 years old and reviews having overwhelmingly positive reviews hint on that pretty clearly.

Heya! You can max the blade burst from the first lvl, and after lvl 20 or so, respect the points from it into dw passive, pneumatic burst and ring of steel. ABB is a great skill for fast packs clearing in the beginning.
