  • The PELADN RX 580 8gb is available on NEWEGG for $88. I find it interesting because its the only 8GB card under $100. ultimately in alot of cases its just not fast enough to take advantage of it. but it did run straight out of the box and had no driver issues. I was hoping for Overclocking headroom but didn't find much.
I would use this for a alternate PC that I just play indie games on or just a placeholder. The Ryzen 5500 + RX 580 was almost have the cost of the New AMD APUs and offered from what I am seeing better performance.
    PC Specs:
    Ryzen 5500
    PELADN RX 580
    16GB DDR4-3200
    512GB m.2

the rx 580 is a strong card still i use my old rx 580 in my 2nd gaming build and it still holds up and now for 88 bucks its worth it if you can not afford a newer card
but then again i have the Asus card with the oc so it does well still

I had a MSI RX 580 back in the day I felt like it was much stronger then the PELADN. Most people say the SP is only 10% slower but it felt like more to me.

Problem with a lot of the new RX580's you can still buy is that they're the 2048SP version from China. It's not hugely worse or anything but the only way to get a full fat version with 2304SP is used...but there's a lot of those easily found and they're all pretty reliable cards.
You are right about the poor value of the 8700G though, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense at release price but I assume in a year from now it'll be a lot closer. Maybe you could get away with using a wimpier power supply as well, RX580 was always a pretty hungry card but the 8700G should be happy with a lot less but it's not going to save enough money to be worth it at its current price.

the 8700G doesn't even support a 16X PCIE slot , only 8X really odd way to build something, i mean your not going to able to make good use of any graphics card that actually uses a full PCIE lane, so its a 4060 or less or upgrade your CPU again, but you can get RX 590 GMEs for 81 bucks right now, im sure they will go back down, and these RX 580 SPs are normally less than 55$ as long you dont let amazon, ebay, or new egg get their cut

Saving on the PSU is never going to make of for the cost of the 8700g and a smaller PSU limits your upgrades in the future. I personally would take the route I think they ended up suggesting in hardware unboxed and combine the Ryzen 5600 + 6600 for $330. It would destroy the integrated setup for the same price.

the new G model AM5 are only able to run half a PCIE slot , really odd,, but you can get these 580 SPs for about 20% less money(ELSE,Milse), does take about month "CuteLiving" ive found to be a dependable importer on GPUs , but for 81$ you get a RX 590 GME, ive actually sold 2 PCs with these cards, both sold with in hours of posting 240$ 340$ but i got pretty good deals on parts during Black Friday last year 50$ GPUs and 50$ A320s, right now storage is way to high to even get close these build price though, you might want to stay away that brand though a 1650 is 30% reduction in performance over the 580 SP, the 2 i purchase were both were on par with my GTX 1060, or maybe you were comparing to a GTX 1650 Super which should out perform the card about 10% big difference between the 2 cards

Yeah I expected the RX 580 to do a lot better IDK why it wasn't slaying the 1650. The 2 PCs I compared was the Ryzen 5500 + RX 580 vs I7-6700 + GTX 1650 4GB used option. You can see the comparison in my Budget PC comparison conclusion:
