Sherry I have to say you are the only one on TH-cam who does not follow trends and that's a good thing! Your style is warm and inviting and what makes it special is it's created out of love not the latest trend! By the way did you know you are in Trend now? According to Nick a decorator on TH-cam traditionalist coming back for 2024 however you don't have just traditional you have well-loved items and that makes you unique❤❤❤
I totally agree ! She does what she loves and that’s what makes her so unique and so special. She doesn’t try to keep up with whats in our what’s not just does what she likes and she’s not afraid to tackle the hard things most of us would not even attempt or myself I’ll say! I love to see the items she gets at thrift stores and just makes the prettiest decor! I’d say she’s one of the most talented interior designer decorator not sure that’s the correct words but she’s one off the best at what we love to

Loved your makeovers!! Navy blue is a favorite color of mine in decorating. A long time ago I painted my son's bedroom navy blue and added wide gray stripes on the longest wall. The stripes were a trend then but a couple of years later, after he'd grown up and left, I painted his room an off white. The room looked like it had shrunk! Hooray for your use of navy blue and your ability to be tool savvy!! Terrific makeovers!!❤

Every time I see you use all those power tools I am in awe Sherry. You do such a professional job. Everything you made over was lovely. It was fun to see how you tweaked a few things later.

I can’t decide if your kitchen or library bookcase makeover is the most dramatic but I love them both! I think it’s the navy color, I love it. If you’re not ready for a backsplash makeover here’s a suggestion. Try using spackle or grout in between the bricks for a more realistic look. When you originally did this DIY I suggested a German shmear and I still think that would look incredible. Either way thank you for your inspiration, I love your videos ❤️

Sherry these room transformations are all amazing. I want desperately to change things in our house because my taste has changed greatly over the years. I love that you just jump in and do. I’m always hesitant to do that because I question myself constantly. I do like how you used the app to check out how different things would look, and I’m going to try that. I think it would be a major help for me. This was a great video!
Wow... having power tools and skills is hard to beat! Love the bedroom bookshelves, and the way you did the window wall above the bed. WIth the hanging framed art... It is very high end looking. Your stairway bird gallery wall is absolutely stunning!!!! I did my small bathroom with gold framed pictures of birds nests and love it. Your foyer is incredible!!!! The dark walls are everything. And your collection of thrifted accessories is enviable! The fact that you have an eye in displaying them on tabletops, bookcases and shelves is what makes your spaces so unique. Oh my... the library transformation with the plaid sofa is dreamy!!!! Very Ralph Lauren! Which I have started channeling in my home this year. I have bookmarked this video , as the inspiration is endless!!!!! You are my idol!

Thank you, Pat! When I was a teacher, I would redecorate as many rooms as I could during summer vacation. My brother used to joke that I had repainted so many walls that my home was losing square footage! 😜
When you were a teacher did you teach Art classes are Home Economic I see those skills in your decorating style you are very talented. I wish I had taken Art Classes in school so I could used those skills to do DIY projects around my home like you. Happy New Year to you and your family

Hello! I had a professional install some prepasted wallpaper. He told me to always prep the drywall and always use wallpaper paste if you don't want any problems. It was a quick process, too. He rolled the paste on the paper, folded it on itself in thirds, walked into the room I wanted it in and hung it. The whole process took less than 30 minutes for a wall mural.

From what I read years ago when I wallpapered two rooms the instructions said to plum a line in the center of the wall and work over to the corners, simply because walls are never perfectly square. This prevents the rolls of paper from "gradually" leaning off from perfectly straight. Worked perfectly. This is absolutly necessary if the wallpaper has a stripe.
You might want to think about painting the tile backsplash after you remove the peel-and-stick stuff. They make paint specifically for that. You could even sponge paint over a background color so it has the color variation of real brick.

Once again you have saved me hundreds / thousands of dollars with your kitchen backsplash peel and stick brick. I did not realize that was such a material and I really dislike the tile backsplash in our new house. We have a large opening in the wall where an old telephone was mounted. I plan on covering the area with a painting that I did when I was able to paint.

Thank you for a look back at some of my favorite projects of yours! My #1 favorite is your library. Changing the bookshelves to navy gave it such a different, dark academia look. I took a page from your book and when I was sick of my pale yellow living room, which has a large built-in bookshelf, I painted the room a deep clay (yes it seemed weird; my artist daughter did a computer mock-up and convinced me). Then I put up peel and stick wallpaper in a vintage hot air balloons pattern on the back of the bookshelf. It really gave the room some character and added interest and showcased my collection of vintage books and brass items well. Thanks for the inspiration!
Oh, and that “dog eating kitty’s food” seems to be a no-win situation! We feed Gemma kitty her wet food in my bedroom with the door closed. Our dog thinks it’s candy and steals it every chance she gets! 😂
I love the navy large cabinet in the library the most! I'm going to paint the bonus room walls either pale aqua or pale peacock and paint the furniture, built ins, cabinets satin black or satin navy. .

I really did like those peacock lampshades and the red plaid. I'm having a hard time trying to find curtains or a fabric for curtains for my bedroom that will match my comforter, which is the Cath Kidston Painted Kingdom in blue. It's looking like I'll have to go with solid colors. I was hoping to find a cute compliment to it that would still fit the whimsical fairy tale/garden theme.

I just love your videos! How about removing the brick peel and stick backsplash and painting the existing tile a brown? Then your accessories would pop more. Can’t wait for the new room refresh 😊 BTW I used some peel and stick wallpaper and experience the same issues as you. Next time I will use real wallpaper 😂

Hi Sherry, I really enjoyed this video! I was thrilled when I saw that you and I have the same tiny cream pitcher. The white one with the grape motif. It looks like you have a matching sugar bowl. I found mine maybe 30 years ago in an antique shop in Asheville, North Carolina. I think it is so cute! Happy New Year!
