09:35 oh my goodness, you now have a replica of one of Britain's most famous child portraits hanging in your personal library. It's known as: 'The Red Boy ' or 'Master Lambton ' but is officially titled: 'Charles William Lambton' The portrait was made back in 1825 by Sir Thomas Lawrence. The young sitter was the elder son of Sir. John Lambton, and who later received the title Earl of Durham. The original hangs in the National Gallery in the heart of London. Not bad for a beautiful recycled thrift store find. 😍🇳🇱
I used to feel the same about mixing metals until I mixed antique gold, copper and silver leaf flakes together as an experiment and covered some castings I made of french flourishes to be applied on my interior doors where each door hinge is. I painted my interior doors a soft black satin color and painted the walls & ceiling a moody satin dark olive green. The french flourishes looked so elegant, dramatic and stunning against the black that even my husband brought his friend in to show off the doors. 😊😉🎉😄😁@@michaelsnider2484
Wow! I'm so glad to know that I am in style for 2025 without doing much work! I LOVE red, and I already have some pops of it! I've never been one to follow trends, so I guess I can just slide into this year's trends and be good to go! I was watching some of your old videos and happened upon the chair with gold velvet on the back that you'd used in your kitchen for display. You mentioned that it looked like it was just stuffed with old moss. I can remember my grandmother talking about that during Wold War II, Spanish moss was used in chair stuffing. Furniture manufacturers evidently sent people out to gather Spanish moss. We had a lot of live oak trees with Spanish moss, so I guess a number of chairs were stuffed with some of our moss! Happy New Year!🎉🎉
I still have that chair and love it. I’m just not using it right now. I remember seeing so much Spanish moss in trees on a trip to Charleston, South Carolina. That is crazy that they used it to stuff chairs!!!
@@SaraKate-gb1pe I've been rocking red in my house, and not just pops of it, for 26 years and I'm never gonna stop. Could not care less about trends! 😁
@@michaelsnider2484 I love red! In fact I bought red phone cover, etc so I wouldn't lose things! Oops! That works when I'm not at home, but at home...... Forget it!
I was contemplating donating a pair of burgundy ceramic lamps with antique gold accents until I watched your video. Now they’re my “new” living room end table lamps! And a pair of unused, small faux rosemary topiaries will be getting narrow burgundy velvet bows and a spot on top of a bookcase. A refresh for free - a “freefresh”??! Thanks for the inspirations!
😄 That's great! You're inspiring me to look at my things with a critical and creative eye before I donate them. Maybe I have a "freefresh" around here, too!
That was very enjoyable-great finds and insights! Thank you for sharing and showing the lovely wedding photo. You clearly just ooze creativity and you look great doing it!
So many fun ideas for the new year. The silver cup reminds me of an antique trophy my grandfather had. He had several trophys for shooting when he was in the Swedish army around 1910.
