Of all the pm players coming from melee and sticking to their melee mains, I've seen marth mains complain the most about the pm jank because of how easily exploitable marth is and how common it is for kill confirms to exist on a character that's relatively easy to use.
Marth, Pikachu, and Fox all have to be the most consistently fun to play as across Smash games. They've all been mostly great to at least decent in every game too. It's hard to imagine them ever being bad.
@@xavierashford9072 I feel like Ultimate Marth is the most underrated character in Ultimate. When I see him placed 20 spots lower than Lucina on Tier Lists I chuckle. There's no way he's that much worse than her. I think Marth just isn't used enough in tournaments to prove his viability.
@@jackflynn412 I play both, and they're right. Ease of use is such a potent factor in a character's placement in this game. Marth has set-ups, sure, but lucina can get consistent punishes with solid rewards and far more leniency. (wall of text incoming, sorry but it's all important) Take this situation, marth and lucina both hit someone from under ledge with an upair at 20%. With marth, you have to ask, did it hit tipper? If it didn't you don't get the combo. Did the follow-up up-air hit tipper? If not, it's a 50/50 now, and also did less damage. Did the next upair? Well if so, you just struggled to do what lucina did, and she managed to get 4 up airs, which means she got more damage and they're closer to the ground which means a better juggle state, and she can hit that combo from far more positions because no tipper. Further consider: kill percents, kill confirms and trade-offs. Marth can theoretically kill at most low percents. At 20, you've got nair-fsmash (position-dependent). At 40, you've got reverse up-air fsmash, and 60-mid 70s,you've got backing up nair1-fsmash. But later on, he has little in the way of kills beyond stray hits. At 110, you've got nair up-b, and possibly filt and uptilt depending on di and percent around there. But if you don't hit tipper, it doesn't matter, and it's a guess as to what to throw out. Then look at lucina. At 70, nair fsmash starts to kill. That works until nair-upsmash starts to work that that stops working (or even losing consistency) far past regular kill windows. 2 kill confirms, all you need, and no reverse or backing up, just simply landing it. Even when it comes to stray hits, marth's only barely kill earlier (aside from nair and filt) but considering you kill off of edgeguarding plenty of the time, that pulls it towards lucina's side unless you're hitting wily confirms or set-ups all the time, which isn't possible. I play marth to warm up and train (and play friendlies because he's more fun there) and lucina feels like piccolo taking off the weight when I enter bracket. He's harder for aproximately the same reward.
Pro tip: if you main a short ranged character (for example, Mario) in either melee or PM, learn to play Marth. That way, you have a pocket character perfect for dealing with characters that out range your main.
It's honestly incredible how certain characters can remain so consistent across the entire Smash series, particularly the Fire Emblem characters. Not only is Marth more or less the same across every installment, but Lucina is more or less identical between her Smash 4 and Ultimate versions as well. Perhaps the most notable FE character who got buffed immensely is Roy, who went from a low-tier in Melee to a mid-tier in Smash 4 to a high-tier in Ultimate, and that's not a bad thing at all!
The entire Cast was buffed, many characters do similar things as Puff, but they are slightly better (Wario). Puff didn't get nerfed at all, she did get buffs, but they are very minimal. She's basically outclassed, and also everyone else is on her level now/slightly better. That's my opinion tho. Some people think she's really underrated and no one really wants to push her, it could be a little bit of both honestly.
Mb melee puff inflated sorely by hbox. I mean is there any othere player who can consisitatly take top8 on majors. Puff has same representation as Pikachu and Yoshi - 1 top player

Diddy as we
Pre-patch smash 4 Marth was pretty garbage lol
the editing in this video is amazing, I’m loving this style
yo, thank you! I feel I'm improving editing wise every week.

Just binged all these videos and realized this one just came out. Keep up the great videos man!

I always loved the different utility of Up Smash in PM
What's the song at 3:44
steam gardens from super mario oddessy
Do a "How Luigi evolved through Melee, Brawl, and PM" video!
I already did
Melee Marth the coolest fighting game character ever to me
Idk how to make video requests, but I think a good one would be “why hasn’t meta knight won a major?”. Also sick vid as always, love the content
i got channel memberships for early content if you are interested! I can do a Meta Knight video in the future.
quite ironically the best balance in gameplay making it pretty strong yet still honest
So used to hearing FE ost that i don't notice it when people talk about other videogames. Great Choices btw
Another banger Honest Content 👏👏👏
Thanks man
Fun Fact: Bobby Big Ballz thinks Roy is better than Marth against Spacies only because he doesn't know how to fight Roy compared to Marth
can’t argue against that
hi, I'm new to project M I have a quick question, how do find sonic costumes (like the jet set and all that) and how do you unlock knuckles?
You should do mr game and watch next!
Colorado lore (we have too many Marths)
Do Lucario next!
Feels wrong seeing Project M/+ footage of a Fire Emblem character without hearing More Than Just Comrades
I wonder how he's gonna contend with Lyn's powerful attacks.
I love PM Marth, he still have the op grab range lol
Bruh Marth is literally a chad in every Smash Game. And when he isn't at least theres Lucina
Marth is my secondary in Melee, my main is Captain Falcon in melee.
I like Marth in Melee and Brawl, do a video on Brawl Marth please
Why puff droped so low while every other melee high tier kept their position. It cant be only bc od matchups.

I just relized smash 4 is the only smash game with no modding community
Even smash 64 has mods?
@@dhans9662 smash 64 has smash remix
He said Marvel vs Capcom 2
PM sucked after 2.1, it was all just nerfs for anyone who outplayed a melee God in a tournament
