Raspberry Pi is a learning platform in my son's school and they use it from grade four to nine. It is great because they use it for different projects and in five years they have had chance to see that computers are not just for gaming. This year when the kids have online school RP become their playground.
although I dont like iPhone I think this would be a great option, and with M1 chip I bet it can handle medium tasks easily and with everything wireless on top of that
That's the "no extras" price. The kit that includes mouse, charger, cables etc is the $100USD. Although you lot in the USA should try paying the Australia tax on stuff and maybe whinge less. I bought one and with shipping it is closer to $160 USD. Before shipping I paid $209 AUD for the pi 400 kit = $152USD.

Some people wish it were a fully-equipped machine, with a monitor and battery. I think the computer-in-a-keyboard is a really good middle-of-the-road compromise, and an outstanding homage to 70s/80s/early 90s home computers like the Amiga 600

It's not there yet, and ARM machines usually have a ton of closed/proprietary drivers and firmwares. The effort to get there, even if it will never be completed, is worthwhile, however.
I always plug external speakers into my monitor anyway for better sound (using the headphone out jack most monitors have). And use a bluetooth mouse because I don't like wired mice.
I would tape a flat powerbank underneath it and tinker a flat cable with a 90 degree plug into the power port to make it truly mobile. Actually I guess, a form of uptodate Raspberry netbook for 150 would be nice.
TH-cam and Office documents? You may have missed the point. It's about learning computing as a creator - not as a consumer. The book is a really great way to get kids and bright adults into what it takes to create new software.
Add this OS to a monitor and sell for 150 or so.. we can avoid all sorts of wires/cables etc.... just like simple version of AIO (all in one desktop)..

Prolly not, depends upon how powerful the rage. You'd have to break the chassis, and not just some keys. Also, no spinning hard disk, so that isn't a consideration anymore. IIRC, I have broken TWO hard disks because of my temper. (*sigh*)
If you could select update bios in raspi-config and it checked your system wasn't locked unlocked the bios and file system if necessary and updates the bios after restart. The solution and advice out there for this new to pi issue is crap I have to keep buying a new SD because I haven't managed to update my bios and don't have a pc to load up the full os which is all that sort of works until I get that damn bios updated.
I got an old ChromeBook for cheap and hated when it updated OS and then couldn't access local file system(drive). One thing I've heard about using mini-chip for unique OS load. Wifi for multi-device recognition would be interesting. USB too. Can you possibly daisy-chain ethernet link for local group of computers? Too many possibilities, and all for $100 USD. That's a wow!
You had audio issues because Linux used ALSA drivers, that can use one audio source from software to one audio out e.g. wired out or BT.... Its because its a Debian distro... However if you use Ubuntu Linux on it it can do multiple audio outs....
This also exists as a standalone keyboard. What do you think of the typing experience? Can this be used for working/gaming like a compact keyboard? Or does it feel worse than a laptop keyboard?
Actually this is a powerhouse* for linux beginners. You are not going to have any issues. But from my experience, the operating system (Raspberry pi os) is not the best. It's a mess. Try using Ubuntu, the pure linux gateway or Fyde OS, a chrome os modified for raspberry pi 400 which have a perk of handling both Linux and Android app. The typing experience is ok. No clickys just quiet clicking keys. But You will have a mindset that not to be hard on typing that typing can break hardware or something. But you will appreciate how Clean you desk looks but the hardware? It's going to get dusty and moist because of sweat and stuff. make sure you do have a pad or cover or something to protect it
If you want to, you can buy a portable display and a portable charger. It's biggest selling point is the price, it's really cheap. People put them into robots and drones and other projects because of how cheap it is. You can even plug it into a dumb TV and now it's a smart TV. It's up to you to choose how you want to use it.
Grabbed two. They were wonderful. Only small downside was the distributor sent us AZERTY ones. And now waiting another month for replacements to be available.
I thought it would look cooler if it had zx spectrum like red and white strips down the bottom right of the the keyboard like the spectrum did. I mean this is a UK micro computer right?
Camera work needs work. Maybe it can linger longer on the relevant features rather than try to be an exciting shaky camera dizzying commercial. And maybe a closer camera highlight of product in hand.

Reading out of a book can be much easier on the eyes and more comfortable then reading off a screen, for many people.
Maybe I missed it, but the other connector on there is for doing all sorts of electronics stuff with: i/o pins and hooking up sensors and the like.

I got the video playback to be pretty smooth with some slight tweaking.

I've not seen Chromium on Pi, but there's a couple of android builds.
There is an extension card called DACberry which gives you a 3.5 audio output. It can be connected to the GPIO port.
