The third-generation of Nissan X-Trail was launched in 2014 and marked a change of direction for what was once a boxy and utilitarian vehicle into one with a much sleeker and more modern design with a focus on low running costs. Attractive, roomy, versatile, well-equipped and comfortable, the Nissan X-Trail makes a strong case for itself as an accomplished family workhorse that has the benefit of an optional seven-seat configuration. And although it’s not really up for a serious off-road expedition, the car’s optional four-wheel drive system is handy for negotiating muddy paddocks at your local gymkhana, or for staying mobile during those occasional snowy winter days.
Some of its rivals have the edge for dynamic performance, interior space and fuel consumption, and yet if you admire the X-Trail’s styling and have a nearby Nissan dealer to look after it, then you’re unlikely to feel short-changed if you choose one.

I have a 2018, and a beautiful reliable suv. No issues and I’ve owned it for 5 years
these are very comfy my only gripe is as with a lot of new cars it seems today the headrests dont tilt forward enough so you cant sit comfortably on a long journey also seats are a bit too firm
Dose the model that dose not have the sat nav media center screen have dab radio. Every single review of this car shows a higher spec car and not the lower entry level acenta.
Is really shame that Nissan switches off nissan connect options like Google Facebook trip advisor in nissan x trail for cars 2014 - 2017 from April 2020. Absolutely disappointed!!! And they do not inform a potential customer about this change...
It's a very comfortable suv

I have 2015 Manual X trail , Tekna .
CVT auto was not for me !!too noisy .
7 seats , 50 mpg , used these are hard to beat for the price .. (10 k miles , Nissan dealer , 10 k off new price ) Tekna has great safety kit . Owned 5 years now .
Only issue , like all cars kick it every month to clear pdf & stop start knocks out often, just switch it off.
The 1 .6 petrol is gutless but quiet . 1.6 D is powerful enough for me & well proven Renault lump ..

Had a 1.6 petrol version x trail for 3 years, great suv. It did most things with plenty of room in the car and the boot. Sorry but have now replaced it with Rav 4 mainly because I will not buy a diesel and the new x trail petrol is fitted with a 1.3 Renault engine, what a shame!

Hello. When you say that you need to take the diesel version to longer drives to avoid gloging, how long is a long drive in this case?
They recommend at least 20 minutes of freeway speeds once a week to help.

I would definitely take 30minutes drive in Motorway up to 3 times a week . To avoid carbon build up. I used have a Qashqai diesel, Now using a
Toyota Avensis diesel the Toyota service personnel recommend this

I'm planning to buy 7 seater car, i was looking forward to get x trail but not sure about their engine as i know Renault's engine is rubbish and not reliable. Any advice lads!
I have got the 1.6dci manaula awd model and its a 2015 model.. 3 years and not missed a beat, done 60k miles now... very good and reliable car.
A Ford s-max would be better choice I guess..
the new x trail people are buying the last model instead , i work in Nissan they are not selling as good,

Bloody front radar sensor on these is a known fault. Dealer not exactly quick in fixing properly.

Buy the 2.0 diesel great deals on new one as no one wants them , I got one £5000 off new price same price a low mileage second had one 7 seater

jatco did not make this cvt, it made the cvt in the pathfinder
