    Nice video. On the dry sand, however, there is no need to run the Simplex+ in Beach Mode. All Metal or Field will actually give you a couple of extra inches. On the wet sand and in the water... well, that´s when the Beach Mode will excel. Keep up the good work.

      @@ViralReality. I use beach mode and turn the iron volume down to one, or off depending on the beach. I also don’t turn the sensitivity all the way up, usually two from the top. And then I ground balance whenever the surface changes, I’ve found that you can’t ground balance too much. Then if works pretty well for me, I only have salt water around me.

    Thanks for taking the time to do this excellent review of this facility in the Simplex. I tried the beach with mine and failed miserably. Both my brother and myself bought one each and recently went to separate beaches with no luck. Ground balancing didn`t seem to help at all. In fact, we were both recently surprised to see that even the movement from side to side in any environment, or a slight catching of a bit of something would render a signal of some sort. Being on the beach we has really high hopes though. I found that a £300 Garmin watch had been lost when a lady came over to tell me. No use though. I buried my car key in only 6 inches of dry sand to find I had false signals at all depths.

  • @jusdafax1

    Nice that it works for you. Mine doesn't do that well at all. I have tested it repeatedly in sandy clay in field mode, park1 and park2 just the same as you did in the dry sand and found the following. 1) the repeatability of any signal is questionable at best. I got everywhere from 19 to 60 for repeated sweeps across a nickel, and everywhere from 60 to 95 for a clad quarter. This is not different coins, this is the same coin variation from sweep to sweep. 2) The depth meter does not work, period. Any coin at any depth will always show maximum bars of depth. It's useless. 3) The maximum depth in moist clay soil to detect a quarter is 5". One inch deeper and you get NOTHING. Not a beep not a squeak, nothing. I tried this on multiple locations with different coins and the result was always the same. If it doesn't tell you what it is, how deep it is and only works on surface or near surface finds, what good is it?

    Recently purchase one and can’t wait to try the beach with it. Seems to do what my buddies much more expensive ones do and for 2 or 3 times less than they paid for theirs. Not saying that their machines aren’t good, just saying the Simplex holds it own against them. The last quarter buried at 10 inches you hit, even though I didn’t hear anything audible that would tell me to dig, it was displaying a 92 on the VDI. Do you think it was from the other object that was beside the coin? Love your channel!

    • @1894Outdoors
      @1894Outdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree the simplex definitly holds it's own. I've been using the nox 800 for a few months now and the simplex really is close in comparison. I didnt notice the vdi hitting the 92 I'll need go go back and look. I typically go purely off sound and only look at the vdi after hearing a tone. This video might make me switch back to using both if thats the case and I would have missed something.

    Greetings. I took my Simplex+ to the beach for the first time, the other day. I spent 3 solid hrs scouring vast areas of dry, freshwater sand. In all fairness, there were clear signs that a beach cleaner vehicle had recently made passes over the beach, so that could explain the lack of junk targets. However, after 3+ hrs of detecting, I can't believe that all I found were a pulltab, a bottle cap, some very light foil, two disposable vape pens and one Lincoln Memorial. I mean, it just seems I should have have hit way more targets after covering so much area. I then moved down to wet sand and kept getting these signals in the high 80's, all of which, were maxed-out on the depth meter. Each time I got these deep positives, I'd dig this deep crater, only to find nothing at the bottom. I ground balanced on both the dry and wet sand and even set ground balance all the way down to zero at one point, as suggested by another TH-camr, but it made no difference, even with the ground balance at zero AND the sensitivity turned down to below 1/2. I'm sure that if I'd had my old Tesoro Silver Turtle Deluxe (from the early 1980's on-hand, I'd have had my mesh collection bag half full of junk and at least a dozen or so coins in my keeper pouch....heck, maybe even some car keys and a junk ring or two. It was as if someone had used a giant screen and sifted-out 99.999% of all metallic objects from beneath the surface. What do you suppose I'm doing wrong with this new machine?

There is only one guy who’s in charge in the service. How and How long it’s going to be fixed all depending on his mood.Mine detector started not working in June . Until now July 28 it’s still not fix.
