    Great video very interesting how your machine makes that big of a difference. I was wondering though, how do you find people who will say yes to permissions on their yard let alone go whenever you want multiple times!? I always do my research and find a handful of houses then when I go out to ask they all say no or aren’t home, then I’m left with nothing to do. I’m a teen so I’m not sure if that helps or hurts my case. Do you find it easier to get permissions and find stuff on farms rather than houses like this? Any help would be appreciated thanks! I subbed

    • @southernrelics
      @southernrelics  ปีที่แล้ว

      These are some great questions.
      Some of the permissions I have gotten are from co-workers. It’s nice to know someone who has old property. And each case will be different.
      Door knocking for permissions takes some practice. Knowing what to say just comes with doing it.

    • @southernrelics

      House properties I tend to do better. But there is a lot of trash around old houses that are still lived in. You have everything from old relics and coins to modern trash and coins.

    It seems like when I buy a Simplex, the ultra comes out, if I buy an equinox 800, the 900 comes out. I have been detecting for 37 years and I think that the hobby is getting to expensive for a retired senior. I have a close full of detectors and coils and I think it's time to pass those on pick a new hobby. I have lost about 70% of all my good permissions in the country to Californians who have to Texas and put 2 million dollar homes in the middle of them and 10 fences and security cameras up. History doesn't stand a chance against the value of the dollar 😢

    It's a good machine but unfortunately you're describing the all to common "I had a good day" bias and applying it to your machine. I can tell you first hand after about 15 years of detecting.........this happens at every site with every machine. It's all about timing. I hit a sit last week that hasn't produced a single keeper in 7 years with ANY machine. It produced 10 old silver and copper coins plus a few cold old relics suddenly one day over ground I've been on many times with every machine I've ever owned. I hit it with my Legend. My buddy was using his extera pro. It wasn't the machines.......we've been there many times. It was the conditions of the day. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't. Most of these keepers were 4-8 inches........not a real challenge for any machine until the conditions are bad. When the conditions are good.......magic happens.

    No the new Honda Accord has recalls after recall. Just because it's new doesn't mean there isn't issues with a new release. Quality control has went out the ass.
    Prediction: Nokta is being sued by Minelab, Detech was sued now called Quest and Quest can't sale V-series detectors in US. So Nokta will get sued lose and pay up, so they are cranking out Minelab somewhat copied multi frequency tech. Then have to change their name like Detech did and will be called Makro.

    • @southernrelics
      @southernrelics  ปีที่แล้ว

      And the point of this comment was? I don’t get into the politics of the detector industry. And unless you are an employee of any of these companies or a share holder, why bog down the fun of the hobby talking about it?
      Why predict anything? It’s a waste of breath.
      I hope you have a better day by not being so concerned with the financial stability of these detector companies. Just get out there and enjoy the hobby with what ever detector you have learned. Go save some history.

    • @rickvann3489
      @rickvann3489 ปีที่แล้ว

      @southernrelics my statement is was and still is they are all are cranking out products not properly tested and as Nikola Tesla stated I don't care that they steal my ideas but I care that they have none of their own. Detech now Quest is Chinese machines backed from whoever in California so you think it's alright to support this crap, I don't. I quite enjoy the hobby. First Texas puts out some of the best units still, Makro/ Nokta based their early units of this technology. I own an Impact and Simplex+ , IMO the Impact is still their best unit because all the hyped multi-frequency is just 2 frequencies White's had a true 3 frequency unit called V3/V3i
      I like your politically correct let's not rock the boat response typical of today's society that is why this country is in the mess it is in giving away a piece of what America once stood for and it never stood for operating in the gray area's. Enjoy the hobby, I do! no one pays me chit, just a Red White and Blue American just stating the facts about some detector manufacturers and that's all. Minelab is an Australiaian company and I stated that they rushed out inferior products too, customers must keep companies in check as the people must keep their governments in check if they care about their country. Remember this " GOD, Country, Family " because if there is no GOD, there is no country and no country means no place to care for your family. " think China" Russia and South American countries.
      Life isn't unicorns and rainbows. You have to stand for something. Your response probably got a bigger reaction then needed but you'll wake-up. Good day

      @@rickvann3489 Rick, I’m not sure where the disconnect came from, but you and I have had productive conversations through this platform and my videos, and we have discussed the Legend and Simplex Ultra in the past. Your comments today are full of brand bashing and honestly, saying that I am the problem with America is the first time anyone has ever said that to me.
      Why did my video and my one response send you down a path of insults toward me and others? I do this as a hobby for fun. I have built great friendships and relationships with people I would have never spoken to otherwise.
      Why bring all this discontent into the video thread?

    • @rickvann3489
      @rickvann3489 ปีที่แล้ว

      @southernrelics I don't believe I have ever commented on your channel maybe, but it is not brand bashing or stated your the exact problem. It's the mentality that younger generation except as alright. No copying is not alright, China is not good for anything but the demise of America and those in America that close up shop in America to exploit lower cost production in foreign countries and steal technology for the love of the almighty dollar isn't except able.
      Problem 1: Money is hard to come by and people expect a McDonald's world "meaning they want instant gratification no matter what the cost is to the country or it's legal citizens.
      Problem 2: companies putting out inferior products and people promoting them not knowingly doing so because of their joy for the thing which they like and not seeing the overall picture.
      Problem 3: social media is now a platform joke no longer to be taken seriously because every joker has a platform with zero back ground that can be checked, and the content put out to make a buck like girls doing splits lame as hell shorts. Now this isn't you, you don't fall under that, I'm just stating.
      There is a big picture and very very over looked.
      Put back to my two main points, Companies pop up every where do not have any back ground or do RD and then sale super cheap consumer buys it and abandons the brands that invented it. Who the hell are we loyal to? Just ask question before you think I'm attacking you ask yourself is it right. Your video started out comparing an old Honda to the newer and better Honda. I know what you were trying to convey but I took it further by taking your broad statement and saying that is not so. Just because you put a different wrapper on a package it's still the same product. Nokta just came out with another cheaper detector a dogged down Legend so what are the benefits of doing this, newer and $75 cheaper but isn't better and I don't even own it and know this to be true. Multi-frequency is simply 2 frequency that work at one very low frequency and another at a higher frequency that's it. You can Google and find out which machine works at what frequency the software processes this info so you have different software engineers that come up with different ways for the detector to interpret the said info.
      But all the latest greatest doesn't always correlate to being necessarily a better end product. Example: Diesel engines to much technology added to the engine to cut down said pollution which feeds back into the engine then burned off with Ammonia shortens the life by a million miles or more. When all that had to be done was simple software and fuel injecting parameters to reduce emissions but the government is involved and tree huggers to push an agenda a long with corporate trucking companies under the ATA banner " that's your big non union companies such as Swift,J.B. Hunt, Knight etc.
      That's a whole other rabbit hole I'm not going down.
      Stealing technology is not truly advancing anything just a short term gain at the cost of others. Quest is really bad at it, you would have to ask Minelab had bad it has gotten for them, yes they did let some patents run out that's on them. Just be careful on generalizations of making broad statements is all.
