  • so we pull up on site before we were able to cut the GoPro on the customer was outside waiting for us to begin to tell us that he wanted material put as closest to the house as possible but he has a short list of options. He had a teeny tiny driveway with the tree in the middle of his yard and not really much space to wiggle and not much space for error either. We had to keep explaining to him that the material comes off like wings on the airplane and he insisted that we could get the material where he on the clearly from the video that last minute compromise and he brought out some extra damage for product placement to the best location we can get. Nice and wide absolutely nothing in the way wide apron two lane road and I often wonder why some stores knowing the area send an 18 wheeler up to deliver mattresses frames and the like, It's not often, But it has happened I once drove my car down and loaded the stuff on the roof to bring up myself, That driver was going to carry that stuff all the way up by himself and I was not gonna let that happen. I figure he got the stuff close enough to me. No problem taking my stuff to the house...Now I know why everyone in the sticks drives pickups. PS i still tipped the driver.

    Why isn't any of this worked out in advance by the homeowner?
    If they need a drop close to the constitution site on their property, then that's a detail that should be worked out before they even place the order.
    If they are told that the delivery is curbside only, then either don't go through with the order, or figure a way to get it to the site.
    Or find a company that can do both...

      @@brianlanders5306 Many times there is a trespassing issue at play and other issues. I live in AZ, had a mix up once and had a guy like this at my door wanting to shut off the power. Told him I didn't know what the deal was but happy to pay the amount and sort it out later. He couldn't take payments which was fair but I had two babies in the house in the Arizona summer so he wasn't going to be shutting my my power either (they don't allow it in 6/1-10/15 anyway but this was just before that and still over 100 out). At first the dude said he'd give me an hour, then I caught him trying to sneak into the back yard which just insulted me and made me have no respect for him. I didn't respond kindly to the deception, he called the police, they sat out there trying to figure out how to let him trespass for like 30 minutes before my wife returned with a receipt the bill had been paid. Had it happen with a repo guy once too (a car left on a property I purchased), after a verbal warning he was trespassing I said I was going in the house to get a gun. He said he had a gun too which got me annoyed. After calling the police I finally said I was charging him a $150 asshole tax and he could come in and get the car otherwise I was locking it in my freight container and we could sort it out in court. He happily paid the tax and we actually ended up becoming friends.

    Is it me or is there a very common issue in most your videos? I am speaking of you inability to tactfully communicate with your customers. I was a driver in several different industries all of which required me to deal with other human beings. Not all people are suited for this, perhaps you are one of those unfortunate few. Show up at my place with your attitude, I'd be forced to fix you

    Gotta love the people who have you drop the stuff at the back of the lot after it’s rained, and you have to clean up any mud on their street. That is if you don’t get stuck first.
    Or going backwards down a hill with a bundle of OSB. That’s the life.

      Lol my boss did that once, first thing in the morning, he didn’t sleep well the night before, was about 2 gallons of diesel into the mini skid steer before he noticed. Luckily he did notice though. Took an hour to drain and refill the hydro tank, but we got our laughs out of it.
      To be fair on that skid steer the hydro an fuel caps are located symmetrically, the only difference really is the hydro cap is metal… maybe they should put a secondary release mechanism on it so it’s harder for the uninitiated/new guy/tired boss to mix up.

    • @wailinginanger3521
      @wailinginanger3521 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@randomguy3281 Well on our bobcat Skidsteers, the Diesel cap is in the back, have to access it by opening the back panel, and the hydro cap is on the side of the machine with a little screw through it and clearly marked.
