If you’re not working on the natural nail, there’s no need to use it, the gel with adhere to the acrylic just fine

Question: I am a beginner. I use monomer and polymer and then i use gel nail polish. Is that what makes a set "gel" or "acrylic"?
Second Question: do you put base coat or primer or the natural nail, the acrylic, or both? For gel I use primer not the base coat?
Third Question: my gel polish always ends up lumpy. Do I have to buff away the shine until they look cloudy and wash before gel polish application?

Acrylic. This method is best when the client changes her design every 2-3 weeks
For acrylics you don’t need base coat. Only when applying gel Polish directly to the natural nail. After you prepare the nail.
Id your gel Polish is lumpy, could be that your acrylics are not filed well enough. You need a smooth surface. Also mixing the gel before applying it helps with the pigments looking more uniform.
