    “How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
    Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
    Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
    Welcome to the Young Nails family!

    Yes Tracy and Stephanie, not forgetting Habib. I am in love with the Real Time series. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
    Can you do a filing series, more like how to correct filing errors- when you file too much on one side, the lower arches aren't even and the acrylic is thin already...I am going with the the best thing is knowing how to correct your mistake theme.

    Yes! Love this one! Practice is key. I have to learn to talk and work and not to be distracted. When your practicing on friends and family I think it harder because they want to talk! I’m going to start having a timer next to me and tell them I trying to get down my time. I agree with Tracey when she said not to worry about little imperfections and spend time refining things. It’s real life not a photo shoot! Let It Go!

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi. I don’t do acrylic or hard gel but want to cut down on the time doing gel polish. I am too old now to improve at doing acrylic and I’m an over thinker. I recently started doing more drilling and practicing on myself to get better. What bits do you suggest to use to cut down time in prep work? I love watching this channel and so glad I found it. Everyone there is awesome.

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the love. If you are still getting used to the electric file we have 2 great safety bits. One is the original great for removing gel polish from natural nails and the second is our course safety bit great for removing but of enhancements like acrylic and gel. Electric filing will for sure cut down your time.

    Bruh! I kept saying to myself, “She is effing HAULING!” The whole time. 😆 The more of these that I watch, the more I realize that I’m overthinking like...every freaking step in the process...all of it.
    I actually had my friend come for a fill with gel polish (removal and application) and told her to stop me if she noticed I was obsessing over something. I still took my time and was thorough but once I got through with each step, I didn’t go back and do it again.
    That shaved 30 min off my time right off the bat.
    Granted, it still took me an hour BUT! That included filing off the gel polish, prep, the gel fill, and reapplication of gel polish with dotting tool nail art on all ten fingers.
    I had to pat myself on the back for that and give you guys a shout for all the amazing content. You guys are the bomb. Thank you!

      Text every client that theres a removal fee if u have to remove their naila and start from beginning. That is if they have nails from other people u will have to juge it upon arrival and filing cause u cant usually see it well on a pic.
      And if they damage ur work by biting on the sides of the nails and making them lift, u cant really fix that in a good time its better to just remove them and start over but charge a fee and new set price. I charge 10to15 dollars for removal WITH a new set. 25-30 dollars only removal no new set.

    Exactly! How is it that when women go to get their hair colored (1, 2, 3 colors, balayage, whatever) they know what they want, but when it comes to nails, they have no clue, tell you to do whatever, then knitpick everything you do?! Ugh!

    I think, like anything that is a learned skill, it is the practice which not only hones technique but also how fast you are able to do that thing. Cooking is another example and my previous career. My first wedding cakes took AGES and the more I practised the faster I became. We used styrofoam forms that were sealed so we could practice frosting on them. I think what made me so fast at nail extensions was having two practice hands. Not just a finger, but a full hands and running fill sets. It's not a 100% analogue for a human, but it is worth the investment if you are serious. The conversation is a little one-sided, however ;) At least they are not indecisive or in a hurry.

    • @youngnailsinc

      Haha! totally agree! Technique first speed second and that comes with repetition. The 2 trainer hands is a great suggestion.

      Jenn W omg YES!! I've been thinking too how cool it would be to create a clear icing and "encapsulating" edible flowers and designs in cakes and bringing techniques used on nail work to cakes too. How cool would that be tho seriously?? Lol I don't do cakes near as much these days tho, basically just for my family now, but I always try to think outside the box for unique designs on nails for sure! I found snake skin under my deck a couple years ago and started using it in nail art and those nails always turn out bomb! I'm always so amazed with all the different unique things you can bring to the table with nails!

    What can one do if you over file ones nail and how can one fix it with tip and acrylic

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you over file the nails, you can simply re-prep the surface (remove shine, cleanse with Swipe and apply Protein Bond) and apply more product where it is needed. If you need to re-apply a tip, you may need to cut off the remaining extension, file off the product from the area that the tip will be applied and re-prep and apply the tip.

    she is the one always saying how shes a perfectionist, yet this set if far from perfection! also yeah the nails look good from a distance . when you show the close up, you see the
    un-uniformness of each nail. so maybe speed isn't the way to go. bc if your charging top dollar for a slanted pinky, a lumpy middle nail ,a misshaped ring finger, and a filed off design on a pointer. ill pass on the speed and take a slowed down nail tech for a uniform nail set.

Here's a video to show another option to use your glitter with acrylic. th-cam.com/video/no0hOrehhOE/w-d-xo.html

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, you would keep it and then that mix can be an option other clients including the one you used it on can pick to use and then since it’s already mixed it’s just $5 total.

    How do you get your nail tech to stay off of the phone and pay attention to doing your nails?
    Because every time I go to get my nails done he is always on the phone talking to someone not really paying attention to me and I just feel like it’s rude and my nails never come out looking great. I always have to go home and fix them the way that I like them I always have to tell them to not topcoat them that way I can take them home and fix them and topcoat them myself

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Something to keep in mind is that a lot of nail techs are independent business owners and don't have a receptionist to answer their phones and schedule appointments for them, so they may need to take a call from time to time. However, if this is interfering with your appointment, you can always ask them not to take calls during your service. If they are unable to accommodate you, you may need to find another tech who is able to.
