My Dad and Mom used to farm a large acreage and there well house was built on to the house like that. They even but a bed in there to sleep in the summer it was so much cooler in there!
Oh my goodness! Where do I start? 1. I LOVE that door! What a great system! 2. Your very own storm shelter! Call me jelly! 3. I'm so glad we don't live near each other! I don't need the competition at garage sales and such for canning equipment......haha We shop the same. 4. I adore the muscle shelves and I love how you adapted them to fit better. 5. We're neck and neck for # of pressure canners......haha You can never have too many. 6. Storing in jars vs the box is fantastic. I am always afraid of rodents. I just picked up 4 big rubbermade totes to store tp in. 7. Your pantry is EPIC and I love it! Nothing gives me the warm and fuzzy like a full pantry. Congrats on some great planning, prepping and pantry.
Suttons Daze Thank you so much!!! That means A LOT coming from you Leisa!! You are one of our go to people for canning, preserving, and prepping! Tell Phil Hi!
I have an old non-working upright freezer (and it was free) in my storage room. It works as a mice-proof pantry and holds all the package/box stuff that I will use short term... gravy/taco/ramen/rice bags/oatmeal/etc. Just close the door and no mice.
What a awesome idea. My dad used to use all the old fridges and freezers as worm farms and would weld the fittings for a tap on the bottom so he could collect the worm "juice". We sold worm castings, worms snd even the liquid as fertilizer....i like this idea better.
We've done the same thing. It works great. In the summer months, we crack the door open and run a fan during the day. Probably don't need to, but we don't want to risk any trapped humidity.
"It's not hoarding when you're prepping ahead of time" Thank you for saying that. It's why I have so much sanitizer and Lysol I just like using those things every year so I never needed to panic when stores were all out.
Facts! Actually we use less food then most Americans, most folks end up throwing away 50% of what they buy to eat! But we protect our food more, we tend to eat more of it! And we actually shop less then most folks, who go to the store every other day! I shop twice a month, but I do buy more when 8 shop, it all even out! Hopefully we will break the 10% mark, of folks preparing for these lean days ahead of us! Right now still only 6% of Americans prepare!
1) Look into “Azure Standard” for bulk items and see if they have a drop off near you. 2) Aluminum cans work wonders to keep items you do NOT want rodent to get into. They have various sizes!! 3) Add bay fry bay leaves to your rice, beans and pasta to keep weevils or “Noble Eco 1 Qt. / 32 oz. Pantry Guard Food Service Safe Insect Killer Spray” Just a few things to consider!! Thank you for the tour; I’ve got some great ideas for my pantry!!!!!
Great pantry. I put things that mice might chew through in those pop corn tins that you can get around the holidays. Yeast, if kept in the freezer, lasts for many years. Thanks for the tour. Great job!
I'm having pantry envy right now. Awesome 👍. So glad to see a husband and wife working together on prepping and canning . My husband is total opposite of me on this subject. I'm going to show him this video so I can show him how it's done.
Above your jellies you have some aluminum pots. Be aware that aluminum can Leach into your foods and has been found in high levels of the brains of people with Alzheimer. Your pantry is stinking amazing! You have inspired me to upgrade mine a couple of notches! Thank you for sharing!
You are an amazing organizer--you will never go hungry, that is for sure! This room is a thing of beauty--there are commercial operations that are not this organized. The canned goods are amazing--all the colors--I am sure the taste matches the colors...you need to try beef jerky when you make the sausage...dutch ovens are also great for baking bread--makes it so easy!
I don't know where you're located, but if earthquakes are possible there, you better add a guard to keep the jars from falling off the shelf. Other than that, you have a well thought out pantry, which gives me a good idea of what to do when I get to making my own.
There is something extra special about nicely organized food storage. I appreciate you taking the time to put out this video. I definitely got some ideas. Side note: Awesome beard!
That ring stand is BRILLIANT! I just found your channel and I’m here for a pantry this beautiful. I just keep all my rings in an old box. Next year, I’m going to try that ring stand, it’s amazing. You have done a spectacular job with this pantry, it is an inspiration to us all.
Rusted rings can be sprayed (completely) with 2 coats of Rust-Oleum - then, when dry, zip-tied together to form canning racks, trivets, cooking racks for baked goods, as well as outdoor decor.
I'm in awe of this storage pantry, I had to share this video., while taking notes. Thank you for the lesson. Very organized, I'm inspired and jealous a little but LOVED it.
I love the room! I am getting my downstairs basement done. I am an extreme couponer and a little bit of a farmer. I have always had a stockpile. I am so blessed that I have a stockpile to take care of me and my whole family.
Absolutely great storage and I love all your homemade items! To save on bulky items such as TP, I remove the carboard from inside the rolls and flatten them inside a plastic bin, it's amazing how much you can squeeze in! Edit: New subscriber :)
We have always kept a years worth of TP, because frankly I hate lugging so much home all the time, but I do same with soaps laundry etc, I get gallons of dawn dish soap for 8.00, from a little store in our tiny town...Your Pantry room is amazing!! I love how organized it is!! Our mice always eat our organic items ,not the cheap stuff.. I guess I have snobbish mice , lol I miss living in Amish country, we lived in Lancaster County ,Pa.. It was great, but I expect there are Amish/ Mennonite communities.... I learned so much working with them..I just stocked up on many kinds of cheesecloth , the fine weave AI think 90, I wash that and reuse. The really cheap stuff I rinse but if I can't get it clean enough , I throw outwow and you still have more room for adding more , nice
First time watching you. I say hello because we must be neighbors. I just finished 14 qts of pears. And I still have some ripening. I go to Royal Oak also. Good people. My late husband used to drive for the Amish so I have an acquaintance with many of the families. Nice to meet you! I love your pantry!
TOTALLY IMPRESSED! Love your organization! I have seen a lot of pantries and this is by far the most organized and has everything. Really enjoyed the time with your video!
I really appreciate this. Everything is super nice and economical. It's not just a room full of prepackaged process sugar items that can kill up a nation. When I see some places and all they have is sugary items to the roof I be feeling kinda sorry for them because I'm like it's a house full of snacks that could make someone sick if that's all it is for a period of time. But canning your own meals is so warming to see and safe because that's years of healthy eating if anything was to happen keeping everyone happy and healthy. Sugar just makes us want more sugar and dehydrated fast till it.... I want to build this somehow in my closet. Hope you put out a video for tinctures in the future. Thats the best looking canned chicken ever. On rain country homestead channel I saw that you could just sit the rings on top and the glass jar edge stops it from even touching the sealed lids and a flat surface can sit on top so more pint jars can make a second layer without ever twisting the ring on the jar at all. By that diatomaceous earth can be a bag of food grade lye incase preserving unwashed farm eggs one day. Again I love this. They say it ain't tricking if you got it lol. May God bless you and yours in Jesus Christ name Yeshua HaMashia for it is written; Jeremiah 29:11 New King James Version 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Amen
On your canners- have the pressure gauges checked for accuracy. Our local cooperative extension office checked the gauges for free. Also, I ordered replacements parts for my 1970s sears canner from an Amish hardware store. LOVE how you store your rings! Also, home canned potatoes are to die for! Very nice pantry! Highly organized! Thank
Try freeze dried fruit, they will last a lot longer, canned fruit from the stores, tends to breakdown the can! Then again if your canning it yourself, it will be mostly glass!
It's good to see people prepare for whatever comes. The shelving system is awesome. Sturdy enough for the weight of the jars and other things. Do not forget your coffee, that is a most for mornings. You can get quails, they are prolific egg layers and they are good eating. Many blessings, Laura M. from Rockaway Park, New York
New subscriber here love the pantry, we can and dehydrate, and freeze almost all our food. We have a 40 acre farm we raise beef, pork, chicken, rabbit, large garden, fruit trees berries, herb garden we are always busy doing something this year our garden did awesome We planted 100 tomatoes and harvested 610 pounds which we turned into spaghetti sauce, rotel tomatoes, stew reg and mecican, garlic maranaia, ketchup, taco sauce, Tom sauce, salsa reg and black bean corn salsa, Tom juive, reg tomatoes, v-8 juice, chili base, pizza sauce, Our green beans finally had a good year processed 75 pounds this year after having 3 years of none producing Cabbage, Brussels sprouts, carrots, celery, peppers, peas, broccoli, cauliflower, reg taters, sweet taters, corn, cucumbers, zuchinni, pumpkins, squash, tomitillos, onions
WOW!!! That is amazing! We wish we had property to do more but we are pretty content where we are otherwise. That sounds like quite the operation you have going. We definitely do plan to expand our garden and add a few animals other than our chickens!
Y’all have done an amazing job with your storage. So organized. Please be careful showing all your stored items .If times get hard those in your town that know you may come calling. And it may not be the good people.Love the door great idea. You’ve done amazing job. 🙂🙏🏻
I sure love how you are so organized . Love to see videos of full shelves of canned goods . I live in an appartment and would love to have a storage like yours ...Keep up the good work ...
Your pantry is very impressive!! So much work. Lots of fantastic ideas!!! You mentioned a few things u wanted to figure out... the first have u ever used gamma buckets with lids for your dry goods and grains to protect from rodents? Also u mentioned wheat berries wanting to figure out what to do with them. Homesteading Family utube channel is amazing. They offer a bread making class that is amazing.
I just found your channel and LOVE you storage area. The thing I really love is how bright it is in the room. I will be spending some time watching your older videos because I really want to see your kitchen now.
In the event the power goes down and you want to vacuum seal some jars Go to Harbor freight and buy a couple of brake bleeders. There’s a tip that goes on it that fits in the hole of that vacuum lid and you just hold it in place while you pump with your hand on the break bleeder and it will vacuum seal without electricity need it! I suggest buying two so you always have back up.
I put my ramen in large plastic containers or 5 gal buckets. My rice is broken down into used Arizona tea gallons and the rest are stored in 4 gallon buckets (since rice is a staple here, I have about 400# of rice lol). I have a crazy phobia about having all my preps in one place. I have a fear of having no access to my preps if there’s an earthquake or hurricane or even marshal law so there’s food and water in EVERY ROOM except my bathrooms. I have some long term food stored in suitcases that’s labeled “kids art projects” just in case THEY come to confiscate our supplies....Yep, I’m a freak 🙄 Love your pantry. Many blessings and much Aloha 🌴🤙🏽🌋
I subscribed as soon as I saw your organized pantry and all of your equipment. I thought to myself I can learn some things from this man . Awesome tour ! Thank you
For your coffee, get unroasted green coffee beans. Once coffee is roasted it goes stale in a few weeks. Green coffee beans can be kept fresh for months, and bought in bulk can be a fraction of the cost. You also don’t have to invest in an expensive roaster. You can roast a pound of beans in a cast iron pan, a wok or a Dutch oven in about an hour.
I have mice, too. I get big tins & put flour, sugar, crackers, beans in tins. (the big tins Christmas popcorn comes in). My beans are soon to be in jars. Love your pantry !!! I even put seeds in tins (mice love seeds).
You can use your old oven roaster to put stuff in like powders and gravy mixes. pr put it on the canners that dont work. Just a idea for you. You should buy birds eye thin baby diapers, they have multiple things can be used for,arm slings, head bandages, toilet paper, wash cloths, cheese cloths for straining and filtering ,carring stuff. Ect. Just a tip for you.
Plastic buckets with lids keep the mice away. Use food grade buckets. Sometimes you can ask Walmart bakery for buckets. They ship frosting in them to the bakery. You can also buy them at menards or any hardware store.
LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR VIDEO......I would agree.... in the event of an earthquake.....all that food would end up on the floor and a total loss and what a shame that would be after all that effort you put into it....and with the weather being so unpredictable today......It would be wise just to reinforce those shelves.....especially that your jars come all the way to the edge of the shelves...THANK YOU FOR SHARING.....GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY keep up the awesome work
I love pantry tours, always get good ideas on how to improve mine. Thanks for sharing yours, the extra shelf is what I will be doing. The spaghetti jar idea for spices is awesome. I was saving some then was running out of room...so will be starting that back up and transferring all my spices to them. 😁
Very nice, as a Californian, I worry about the shaking of the earth and all that glass. :) But likely that is not a possibility there. Good job that will last you a long while.
With the tomatoes separation, I cook them down some before canning And using a more meaty tomatoes like San Marzano ll or Amish paste or mixing with a juicy tomato, you won't get any separation. Don't need to can the water. Came across this by accident. With my tomato juice, I wash, core the stem, quarter, then toss in my Vitamix, seed, skin and all saving ALL the goodies. Seeds and skins are pulverized so much, people were surprised when I told them the seeds and skins were in the juice. But you have to bring to a low boil or simmer in stock pot to cook out the air caused by the Vitamix. A very hearty great tasting tomato juice. And great for adding to chili or whatever cooking. And yes, adding whatever broth instead of just water to whatever cooking is always better tasting with more goodies too. Also, you mentioned a "Foodsaver Freshsaver" for vacuum sealing canning jar dry goods. I looked online and couldn't find it. Thinking be much more efficient than a regular vacuum machine like you said. Thank for the great video 👍👍
My nephew lives in N Idaho about 3 years ago they had a lot of bottled food like you and was adding to it Then they had a 6.8 earthquake there shelves were open like yours when they went to check over 1/2 there food was on the floor in broken bottles. A board or something to hold the bottles on the shelf could of saved a lot of money and work even a chock line would of helped
Love seeing a man so into canning and prepping!
Thank you so much
There is a lot more of us then folks think!

Those canning ring holders are genius! Love seeing all that canning equipment neatly displayed.

I am so impressed on your food storage room. You have a great skill being a canner. Keep up the canning video. It's nice to see a man canning.
Thank you so much!
You’re rockin’ that beard brother. Love the chalkboard tracker, I’m gonna steal that idea. Jealous of the well. Nice job! Thx for sharing.

Many blessings and much Aloha 🌴🤙🏽🌋
All good thoughts
I subscribed as soon as I saw your organized pantry and all of your equipment. I thought to myself I can learn some things from this man .
Awesome tour ! Thank you
Amazing! Your channel popped up and I’m so glad it did. Hello from Ohio. Oh love my Wagner ware
Welcome aboard!
So cool to see another fellow Michigander!!
I am super impressed!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Im going to look into this thanks
The chart is a great idea.
Thanks
OMG this would be a dream. New subscriber here. Came over from SuttonDaze.
I think I have canner envy!!!
Thats funny
I wish my husband would get on board with me on preper pantry ideas.
Keep trying he may come around
Do what you can. The next time he runs out of something and you have it put up, he might get the idea! 😊
I have mice, too. I get big tins & put flour, sugar, crackers, beans in tins. (the big tins Christmas popcorn comes in). My beans are soon to be in jars. Love your pantry !!! I even put seeds in tins (mice love seeds).
When you said that you dry all the fridge leftover veggies.... I subscribed!,nice pantry
Thanks for subbing!
What an awesome space!!! I would kill to have that area!
Omg I wish I had all thoes pressure cookers so jealous
One at a time. Im always looking for them.

Fantastic pantry and you “Inventory Door” is genius.
Glad you like it!
Thank you for sharing. I am starting to stock up more and was not sure what to do with the flour and the sugar. Love the large jar idea.
Glad it was helpful! Ask around your local bars/taverns or restaurants. We often have them saving large pickle jars for us.
Nice pantry! Good for you.
Thank you!
Hello new homesteading friend! I love the pantry! I will be checking out more videos 💚💚💚
LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR VIDEO......I would agree.... in the event of an earthquake.....all that food would end up on the floor and a total loss and what a shame that would be after all that effort you put into it....and with the weather being so unpredictable today......It would be wise just to reinforce those shelves.....especially that your jars come all the way to the edge of the shelves...THANK YOU FOR SHARING.....GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY keep up the awesome work
Thanks
Fabulous idea with your door!!
very envious of your setup...👋
Thanks! 👍
Inspiring pantry! - canned butter was a new one for me, would love to know how to do that
I love pantry tours, always get good ideas on how to improve mine. Thanks for sharing yours, the extra shelf is what I will be doing. The spaghetti jar idea for spices is awesome. I was saving some then was running out of room...so will be starting that back up and transferring all my spices to them. 😁
Glad it was helpful!
Very nice, as a Californian, I worry about the shaking of the earth and all that glass. :) But likely that is not a possibility there. Good job that will last you a long while.
Fingers crossed!
Genius idea with the chalk paint
This pantry is a very big yes. Lovely. Thank you for sharing 💐💐💐
I love that pantry!
This is a really nice room! I like how you added the extra shelf inserts.
Thank you so much!! The extra shelves sure to help maximize the space.
Wow, that’s so nice. 👍🏻
Thank you
This is one of my dream rooms for my home
WOW WOW WOW ! Great job Sir...HOOAH forgot to mention new subscriber, Hello !
SouthWest Prepper Group Welcome to our channel and thank you for watching!
Nice and well organized
Thank you so much!
I am putting up bungee cord for this issue
