This channel has gone to the dogs recently :) Supermeteors are arriving, just seen 2 new arrivals at my local dealer, 1 sold unseen already, other is being set up for demo rides, although some confusion over the service intervals, even the dealer cannot work out what RE wants in the UK and neither bike arrived with a service manual. One source suggest 10,000km and another 7,500km the latter being a bit short for my riding schedule pushing it to 2 services a year, although dealer is confident when it is sorted will be as the Interceptor in the UK at 10,000km (6200 miles). Look forward to more riding once the weather improves, not bad in the South over in the UK been out nearly everyday so far :)
Hi Shardlake, 🤗Sorry but Ruby is quite a princess and usually gets her way 😂 I’m surprised that the dealers are so clueless although I experienced the same with the Meteor. But the Meteor had a brand new engine at the time, so maybe more understandable. Surely the Super Meteor will have the same intervals as the Continental and Interceptor, it has exactly the same engine ??? Despite my initial thoughts and love of Buddy, the Super Meteor is calling me and I hate myself for it ! Temperatures are now on the rise but as of next week, rain almost every day. This side of the Med has been OK this past week, storm Helios having Wreaked havoc for a few days previously, so been a few short trips on Ruby, the Classic350 , and shopping on the Speedfight, got quite warm, as elected to go Goretex! Was at the RE dealer today had some chat and…. touched the SuperMeteor 650! Really nice bike and it could replace my Sportster with ease… … but things go in a different direction and I will get a Classic 350 and then maybe the Sportster will leave or will be replaced with another scooter…
Nice one Sexy 😜 I’m head of the queue for a test ride when the demo bike is registered and ready to go. If it’s as good as I think it will be, the trail bike might have to get pushed back a bit ! 🤔 It’s still an “economical ride” when compared to a Harley after all, so still fits my channel’s mission 😂 OK, I know, that’s stretching things a bit. Yeah I know, but I’ve put those days behind me William. Also I can only ride on the weekend, so my opportunities are very limited unfortunately. If I ever get a trail bike, I will be more than happy to ride it in all weathers, which is another reason why I want one ! Cheers buddy 🥃🥃 ER
What do you mean Richard ? It’s the second service after the six month one, which you do to maintain the warranty. It’s quite a big one, with valve adjustment, filter changes etc. It cost me 160 EUR which I think is a lot less than some UK dealers are charging. I’m happy to pay it because the bike is running much better now and I don’t fancy doing the valves myself until the warranty has expired, then I’ll give it a go ! Cheers, ER

Her ears pricked up when she heard her name but sadly couldn`t see herself on screen, of course. Thanks for featuring her, it means a lot to me 🤜🏻🤛🏻. Great news that you might get to ride a 650 Meteor. Leave your cards, cash and cheque book at home and don`t sign ANYTHING 😂 I did get a ride on Sunday from my home in South Somerset, up the North Devon Link Road to Barnstaple, then down the Atlantic Highway to Bude, in North Cornwall. A bit chilly when I left but warmed up in the afternoon. First longish ride this year, about 200 miles and it felt good to be out. Looking forward to seeing more sunny videos from you in due course. Awwww.....bless little Willow, we're all thinking of her, even if she can no longer see us ! Yes, the Super Meteor thing is starting to worry me ! I've already chosen the spec and the colour I want and have also figured out a way to pay for it if I had to 😱 That's definitely a bad sign ! If I really like the bike, it could totally mess with my plans for this year. I'm still leaning towards sticking to my original plan because I think it is a better one overall but a nice new bigger motorcycle is also pretty tempting 🤔 Then again, I could just as easily buy one later in the year if all goes well, so I need to have a long hard think once I've ridden it. I'm glad to hear that you were able to go for a decent ride at last, I'm sure you really enjoyed it. I don't miss riding too much at the moment because last week I did have the four hour round trip to the dealer with the Classic 350. Actually I got extremely lucky with that one. It was dry riding there and coming back I was in front of the rain. It started raining behind me and followed me all of the way home without catching me. @@davericketts9101 Hi Dave and Willow, yes, the Super Meteor has a good chance of working its way into my life, it all depends upon the test ride. First of all it needs to feel like a significant upgrade on Buddy or the Classic 🤔( which it should ! ) and second of all I need to feel as if I can deal with the weight. Unfortunately all around my house and garages I have gravel, not tarmac or concrete. When I get the bikes out of the garages, I always paddle them to the house with my feet because I don't like starting them and then stopping them straight after. I need to test how easily I can paddle the Super Meteor about on an incline, because nothing here is flat either ! And of course when applying force to gravel, your foot can easily slip away and you could end up in a heap with the bike. So I think perceived weight will be a major factor in my decision. If the Super Meteor doesn't convince me then a Himalayan would probably be on the cards instead because then I could finally start exploring some tracks/trails ! I think next month a decision will be made, one way or the other ! The weather is not looking good for the weekend ( the week was not too bad but unfortunately I was too busy with work to ride ! ) so I'm not sure whether or not I'll be able to make a video for Tuesday. @@economicalrides I`m sure it would seem a significant upgrade on power but I completely understand the concern you have about the extra weight, bearing in mind the situation with gravel around your house. Also, it wouldn`t be ideal for exploring those local tracks. I have had bikes of a wide variation of power and weight, over the years, from a 50cc Honda to a Triumph 1600 Thunderbird twin and I must confess that, the older I get, the less I want the heavy bikes, for so many reasons. Anyway mate, I am sure you will give it plenty of thought and make the decision that is best for you. The Himalayan does seem a good bike, for your situation. Yes, the weather here has cooled down in the last couple of days and is fairly calm, so I will almost certainly do some riding. Good luck with your weather but don`t worry about going out just to make videos, it`s not worth it and we can wait. Enjoy your weekend. I'm supposed to be saving for a trail bike 🤔 It looks like my test ride will be around the second week of March. At the moment I'm thinking "if I love it, I'll get one" but I do really want a bike for the trails, so.......well...... basically I'm hoping that after the test ride I DON'T love it 😂 The weight of the thing could be a problem. I have to paddle my bikes about on inclined gravel to get them from the garage to the house and I'm not sure gravel will provide enough traction for a heavy bike in certain instances. I see potential for bike drops 😱 So if I don't feel that I can handle the weight on loose surfaces, that would prevent me from buying one. Ruby says she wants Buddy on "her" channel, so please DM me on Instagram sometime. My Insta is economicalrides, but it's also in every video description. Cheers mate, happy weekend ER

Hi Lilian, your comment landed on the naughty step for some reason, so I've only just seen it and unblocked it 🤷♂️ Yes, some very cute doggies in this one, including TAYM's butch Milo. I'm really looking forward to test riding the Meteor 650, the dealer said they will call me as soon as the demo bike is registered and ready to ride. It's the first time the RE dealer has had a demo bike that I am interested in, so it was most unexpected when they told me that they were getting one. I do worry that I might like it too much and be forced to give up one of my other bikes to buy it though 🤔 But I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. I'm secretly hoping that I won't like the Super Meteor really, it would make life easier 😛 Oh, well on the live show I talk a lot but that's mainly because Exeter Rider kept the questions coming thick and fast 🤗 Oh and I've discovered that the camera adds at least 20 kilos 😂 I'm definitely not THAT fat but some photographer did tell me that the wide angle lens is probably at fault because I was too near to the camera. I'm going with that theory personally ! Enjoy the show ! It's long but actually once you get into it, the time flies by and you'll learn a lot about my biking history and stuff. Leo and I walk 3 kms every day. Times that by 4 years and you get aprox. 4,000 kms, or 2500 miles ! I think I need a sausage ! 😆 Cheers.

I think we BOTH deserve a sossidge !!! 😝 Yes, six months of the year without riding must be a drag. At least here it’s only tricky for about three months. Once the rains stop we can usually look forward to nine months of dry weather although of course July and August will be around 40C, so too hot for most but not for me ! Yeah I know, but I’ve put those days behind me William. Also I can only ride on the weekend, so my opportunities are very limited unfortunately. If I ever get a trail bike, I will be more than happy to ride it in all weathers, which is another reason why I want one !

what is a 12 month service?
What do you mean Richard ? It’s the second service after the six month one, which you do to maintain the warranty.
It’s quite a big one, with valve adjustment, filter changes etc. It cost me 160 EUR which I think is a lot less than some UK dealers are charging. I’m happy to pay it because the bike is running much better now and I don’t fancy doing the valves myself until the warranty has expired, then I’ll give it a go !

I did get a ride on Sunday from my home in South Somerset, up the North Devon Link Road to Barnstaple, then down the Atlantic Highway to Bude, in North Cornwall. A bit chilly when I left but warmed up in the afternoon. First longish ride this year, about 200 miles and it felt good to be out.
Looking forward to seeing more sunny videos from you in due course. Take care mate and I enjoyed the live broadcast the other night ( although I didn`t actually watch it until later that evening)

Yes, the Super Meteor thing is starting to worry me ! I've already chosen the spec and the colour I want and have also figured out a way to pay for it if I had to 😱 That's definitely a bad sign !
If I really like the bike, it could totally mess with my plans for this year. I'm still leaning towards sticking to my original plan because I think it is a better one overall but a nice new bigger motorcycle is also pretty tempting 🤔
Then again, I could just as easily buy one later in the year if all goes well, so I need to have a long hard think once I've ridden it.
I'm glad to hear that you were able to go for a decent ride at last, I'm sure you really enjoyed it.
I don't miss riding too much at the moment because last week I did have the four hour round trip to the dealer with the Classic 350.
Actually I got extremely lucky with that one. It was dry riding there and coming back I was in front of the rain. It started raining behind me and followed me all of the way home without catching me. I was home for ten minutes and then the rain arrived ! So I dodged a bullet there !
Oh, thanks for watching the live show, I didn't know if you were there live or not. It was good fun. The camera adds 20kg by the way, I'm not fat at all. I knew there was a reason why I avoid cameras, they just don't like me !

Ironically Ruby, we had sossidges for tea that night, before I saw daddy`s video and yes, Willow did get get some sossidge but she isn`t as lucky as you and doesn`t get a whole one 🐶.

yes, the Super Meteor has a good chance of working its way into my life, it all depends upon the test ride. First of all it needs to feel like a significant upgrade on Buddy or the Classic 🤔( which it should ! ) and second of all I need to feel as if I can deal with the weight. Unfortunately all around my house and garages I have gravel, not tarmac or concrete. When I get the bikes out of the garages, I always paddle them to the house with my feet because I don't like starting them and then stopping them straight after. I need to test how easily I can paddle the Super Meteor about on an incline, because nothing here is flat either ! And of course when applying force to gravel, your foot can easily slip away and you could end up in a heap with the bike. So I think perceived weight will be a major factor in my decision.
If the Super Meteor doesn't convince me then a Himalayan would probably be on the cards instead because then I could finally start exploring some tracks/trails !
I think next month a decision will be made, one way or the other !
The weather is not looking good for the weekend ( the week was not too bad but unfortunately I was too busy with work to ride ! ) so I'm not sure whether or not I'll be able to make a video for Tuesday. I'm hoping to get out on Sunday but apparently it's going to be cold and very windy ! 🥶

@@economicalrides I`m sure it would seem a significant upgrade on power but I completely understand the concern you have about the extra weight, bearing in mind the situation with gravel around your house. Also, it wouldn`t be ideal for exploring those local tracks. I have had bikes of a wide variation of power and weight, over the years, from a 50cc Honda to a Triumph 1600 Thunderbird twin and I must confess that, the older I get, the less I want the heavy bikes, for so many reasons. Anyway mate, I am sure you will give it plenty of thought and make the decision that is best for you.
The Himalayan does seem a good bike, for your situation.
Yes, the weather here has cooled down in the last couple of days and is fairly calm, so I will almost certainly do some riding. Good luck with your weather but don`t worry about going out just to make videos, it`s not worth it and we can wait.

I'm supposed to be saving for a trail bike 🤔
It looks like my test ride will be around the second week of March. At the moment I'm thinking "if I love it, I'll get one" but I do really want a bike for the trails, so.......well...... basically I'm hoping that after the test ride I DON'T love it 😂
The weight of the thing could be a problem. I have to paddle my bikes about on inclined gravel to get them from the garage to the house and I'm not sure gravel will provide enough traction for a heavy bike in certain instances. I see potential for bike drops 😱 So if I don't feel that I can handle the weight on loose surfaces, that would prevent me from buying one.

I'm really looking forward to test riding the Meteor 650, the dealer said they will call me as soon as the demo bike is registered and ready to ride. It's the first time the RE dealer has had a demo bike that I am interested in, so it was most unexpected when they told me that they were getting one. I do worry that I might like it too much and be forced to give up one of my other bikes to buy it though 🤔 But I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. I'm secretly hoping that I won't like the Super Meteor really, it would make life easier 😛
Oh, well on the live show I talk a lot but that's mainly because Exeter Rider kept the questions coming thick and fast 🤗
Oh and I've discovered that the camera adds at least 20 kilos 😂 I'm definitely not THAT fat but some photographer did tell me that the wide angle lens is probably at fault because I was too near to the camera. I'm going with that theory personally !

I loved the live show. Thanks for the Hello to me and Leo. Unfortunately I cannot ride for 6 months of our winter season. Your vids and walking Leo help get me through. Leo and I walk 3 kms every day. Times that by 4 years and you get aprox. 4,000 kms, or 2500 miles ! I think I need a sausage ! 😆 Cheers.

Yes, six months of the year without riding must be a drag. At least here it’s only tricky for about three months. Once the rains stop we can usually look forward to nine months of dry weather although of course July and August will be around 40C, so too hot for most but not for me !
