    I have the identical bike which I bought, second hand, on 1st October last year, when it was 6 months old and properly run in. I have added another 2,200 miles to the 1,000 miles it had on it, when I bought it. It never misses a beat, is a joy to ride, around Somerset, Dorset, Devon and Wiltshire and I am getting a true 112 miles to the UK gallon. I smile every time I look at it and grin when I`m riding it. Love it.

    After 3,000 miles since June, my '23 halcyon green Classic has been a smile-a-minute, and loves to run. Shifted properly, is perfectly adequate for any road up to about 60mph. So easy to work on, and hardly any plastic, thumbs up for money well-spent. Bonus, I'm not attracting police attention by riding 80 everywhere

    I’ve had the halcyon grey classic 350 for about 3 months now …I
    After many bikes I’ve had in the past ( which I’ve all loved)
    This is the best looking and most enjoyable bike I’ve ever ridden !

    I’ve had my Chrome Red for about a month now yet I still enjoy watching new TH-cam content even though I have my own in the garage! I traded in a sports tourer with twice the speed, three times the power and acceleration - but near zero class. I love my little Poppins - so called because she’s practically perfect in every way :-) And yes, she is my only motorcycle, there isn’t a GS or Hyawotsit on standby for mile-munching.
    I live in south Hampshire so know this area well - it is perfect bimble country. My commute is now the B roads up and over the Candovers (which I imagine you probably know well, Mark) rather than the M3 - who knew going to work could be so much fun! A lovely, lovely bike - stupid grins all the way, especially on the ‘walk back from the petrol station’ test 😆

    Got mine the same as this on new in March.. First thing I had to do was adjust the gear lever as it was too low and I had difficulty getting my toe under it. This meant unbolting part of the frame in order to slip the gear lever off. That done I began running it in as per the manual. The first 300 hundred miles were a slog, especially at the tale end of a Scottish winter . During this period the engine was running very uneven, and after half an hour or so just stopped. It was serviced together with the vavle clearances, however by the time it had reached 1000 miles it was still running rough. It was also jumping out of gear quite a lot. It was a comfy bike to ride but just felt like a bag of bolts. That, together with the woeful top speed (it wouldn't go beyond 65 mph), and while it was relatively happy at 60 ish, apart from the occasional cough and jumping out of gear ,if the vehicles in front were doing 45mph, so were you. Quite frankly I'd had enough and I got rid of it after only 3 months and approx 1100 miles. The bike looked great, and I bought it for its looks and because of all the glowing reviews on You Tube. Sadly I found out to my cost that all reviews are subjective. Maybe I just got a bad one. You have been warned.

    Great review as usual ,I’m loving my chrome / Bronze , it gets the most use out of all of my bikes , but soon will be layed up for winter as I live in southern Austria , which the 350 absolutely excels in , it sails up the mountain passes and handles impeccably ( foot peg screamingly! ) in the twisties ,

    Great review Mark - you sum up the bike perfectly. It’s lovely to ride - comfortable, easy to get along with and very frugal. I find I’m happy to potter along and take it easy. The looks also draw a lot of favourable attention and other motorists seem happy to give way and let you filter (or maybe that’s just my perception 😊).

    Had my Dark Gunmetal Grey since April and I love it. My head was turned recently by the new Bullet in black/gold but I'm sticking with "Ernie". It doesn't make financial sense to swap and I really don't want to be running another one in. I do wish they'd not put a limiter on them. I don't want to exceed 70mph but having the headroom of another 5mph would really help you squirt past HGVs on a dual carriageway when there's a car approaching fast from behind.
    At 195kg they're not exactly light but well planted with less tendency to be blown about by sidewinds.

    I think you nailed it perfectly with this review. Personally I love the look of the classic and would have one in the signals colour scheme. I have ridden 2 examples on demo rides and they are a thoughly pleasant machine for pottering around the back lanes, my only complaint is I wish they had a bit more power/punch for overtakes. The new Triumph 400s seem to have that extra performance (on paper anyway) so I will wait to see what that bike is like when production bikes are available to ride. Triumphs recently announced pricing is very keen and really in the same ballpark as the classic (excluding the cash discount which wont last forever)

    • @eastsidebadger8416
      @eastsidebadger8416 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The issue I have with the Triumphs that aren’t built by Triumph is the price..Revzilla did a ride in India & said here in the states the price would be 5500..with dealer fees and all of that the bike would be 6500. There also won’t be any aftermarket parts for awhile & idk about a first run bike. Really like the 400s but the price & No aftermarket worry me. RE seems like a better option.

    • @AliasMrHackenbacker
      @AliasMrHackenbacker 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @eastsidebadger8416 It is different in the UK where the price is very close to the Enfields. I don't think its been announced where the bikes will be built, there's talk of the Thailand factory building them.

    Thanks for a great review Mark.
    I tested one of these a few weeks ago and was very impressed. It was super smooth and responsive, and the riding position was perfect. The only downside, and the reason I'm hesitating to purchase, is the weight. I've not owned a motorcycle for 20 years, though I have had a few Vespa's, so pretty much ALL motorcycles feel heavy to me!! Has anyone else had a similar concern and overcome it? (Black or Grey for me. Love the shiny stuff, but I'd ruin it).

    • @markpulling12
      @markpulling12  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    • @PhilipBallGarry
      @PhilipBallGarry 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You quickly get used to the weight. The ride is plush too and it handles two-up easily. You will also get used to a four finger pull on the front brake with a good amount of rear brake added for more "effective" deceleration when circumstances dictate but generally I find the brakes more than adequate. Have a look at the new Bullet 350 in black/gold. Like mine, it has a much more durable finish to the engine cases 👍

    • @PhilipBallGarry
      @PhilipBallGarry 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Gmails417 Fantastic news! Running in is a bit of a chore but if you do lots of little trips - perhaps taking the bike, where you'd normally choose the car, the miles soon mount up. Urban riding is ideal for this too. Ironically, winter is the best time to get it done. Then you'll be ready for spring. The standard seat is a little tall for me (29" inseam) but there is a low rider seat available. I tried one briefly but sent it back as it was a bit uncomfortable compared with the standard (which spoils you). It's such an accessible bike (with a very tight turning circle) and if you're like me you'll be exploring all those little lanes you may have passed by so many times before.
      Stay safe - and enjoy!
      Edit: Ignore the bit about running in, I'm an idiot. Upon re-reading your reply you've bought a used one which I guess may already be run in.

    My Sat morning mutterings adding to the MC community should you wish to peruse my written prose. An option & a choice, effort is put in.
    We usually get a decent enough review from our man Pulling, time & time again don't we.
    Nothing rushed or demanding of us is there, and with the Royal Enfield as the subject matter where can we go wrong.
    With my range of British built Motorcycles I would not go down the usual advertising route but instead hand pick 10 reviewers to check my latest offerings over.
    Give it that enthusiast based, well, a groundwork base to build upon.
    An enthusiasts Motorcycle for the enthusiasts at a near non profit basis, to keep the prices down. Though with quality & style and that over riding VFM part. Very similar in a way to Royal Enfield. For the ACTUAL cost of production in India, we can estimate those low costs by what these various RE motorcycles DO sell in India.
    And DON'T they sell !!!!
    They in India are then in a way getting VFM VFM with us in the UK still getting VFM.
    I am happy enough with that as many other RE owners are. No grumbles there really.
    So with my range of new to the MC scene offerings I would envisage 2 reviewers at a time per day spread over 5 full days of testing, then after a publishing time embargo had been reached, to make it fair for the later reviewers.
    Giving them all time to produce a TH-cam video, 7 days after the last day of that M-F week, then they could release their YT productions to I hope an unsuspecting MC World.
    IF they all kept it quiet, though with an acceptable hint that didn't spoil the surprise.
    Nice surprises are nice really, aren't they!
    Even with the £1 Million prize part of the EuroMillions having being won, this for me would initially fund the big comeback. The comeback of the Motorcycle to Britain.
    We were at one time, by way of BSA in the 60's the biggest MC producer in the World.
    History can repeat itself, though this time around it would not be under the BSA brand name. But instead be with mine.
    Though for the 198cc inclusive and higher capacity range of motorcycles for the over 21's.
    Though not much higher than 800cc, which is more than enough these days.
    Less weight for starters, and cost!
    DANGEROUS devices these propelling machines are, even in the most experienced of hands, though of cause 'more so' with the less experienced.
    I could not do it any other way, no matter the lesser amount of over all sales.
    That would be my target area of engine capacity motorcycles, a nice commuter 200 up to a touring & cruiser & everyday Interceptor and RE Continental type up to an 800.
    The biggest selling brand in the UK would be my initial aim & objective, then take on the World. What fun and what a challenge that would be. But look at it, as well as other delights & wonders we designed the >>Avro Lancaster Bomber
