You have to start something, you can start by building smaller models, it can be anything, but it gives you the motivation for you to get up and build something the next day. For example if you have a kid, and your kid already got one of those electric car, you take all the ousidecover off and build it into a Tesla car. Do little by little like that and that will give you motivation and hope.

Try mounting the rear castors on an angle itll keep them straight and if you mount them both on a bar to where you could rasie them straight up, u can control the drift
Interesting machine, but not really a "drift trike". More like a powered unicycle with training wheels. Make it rear wheel drive with no casters and hard plastic (PVC?) wheels ideally with a handbrake for a true drift trike. Or keep it front wheel drive with no casters and hard plastic wheels for a powered "grownup's Big Wheel", and add a handbrake so you can do some sick slides!

I would mount those casters on a bit of a front down angle so it can hold it steady going forward but you can break it loose and drift
