  • Recently we had a request in the Request Box from @jadekcphotography to cover "how to straighten trees that are leaning one way or the other behind a straight subject in Photoshop". This is a super-specific situation for a photoshop tutorial and I think many would come at this in different ways, but to answer that specific request, this video is here.
A rundown of this photoshop tutorial in brief:
Step 1: Split your subject from the background
Step 2: Straighten and extend the background as required
Step 3: Blend the two together as desired
There is a blog post on this topic, that's here: TBC
    Hope this helps!

OK, this is how I would do it. Duplicate my background, go into liquify. Zoom all the way out. Make a large brush, and just nudge the tops of the trees over. Job done!

Great work as always! And this was superb timing - took some pictures of a corgi the other day, straightened the pup, but the trees ended up on a 45 degree angle 😲 Thank you for sharing :D

Thank you for the kind words and I hope you can put this method into practice with your images of a corgi 😊

Hi jess. Great video. I just have a question. I'm just wondering, could the straightening be done in ACR with geometry(think it's called that) section , after you mask out the subject or would it not work as well as the way you shown here?
    Thanks.

Hi Stewie, thank for your kind words 😊 I would say the it probably would still work but without trying I can't be 100% on that 🤓
