Casetify? I thought we were done with companies that steal designs from other companies?

Their cases are overpriced and cheap but hey gotta make money some how😂
He possibly had a past contract which extended to this iPhone presentation? I'm pretty sure he won't confirm nor deny this theory.
@@beetrootize he needs to delete this video and apologize
We all know what casetify did but unfortunately he could be bound into a relationship that started before this mess and doesn’t have a good way of getting out of his agreement. Remember the people that are really the victims of what casetify did was jerryrigeverything and dbrand. He has nothing to do with this problem.
Support his work and move on. Just don’t buy anything from casetify.
I liked the video, Tyler - but a dislike for Casteify.
Same
for the love of your true commitments, drop the casetify sponsor as soon as possible.
its a shame to be supporting a shame of company who blatantly copies another creative person[s]s work.
and i doubt you like your works, to be pirated, including the lux settings etc.
No way I'm rocking that case lol
If I learned anything from this video, it’s they people really don’t like Casetify 😂
For the people wondering if they’ll wait another year. You will never buy an iPhone. You will just keep waiting year to year.
That’s me!
You must. E from church apple
Not true
and that's good!
I'm actually keen to test the camera on my iPhone 5. Some of my really old photos have a really … filmic? … look to them, not "good" but just old-fashioned, with crushed blacks etc etc.
Casetify? Really? Talking about them TWICE in the video? Lord have mercy. I looooove your videos… but this sponsorship has to end for me to stay here.
don't stay , he does it only to pay bills. like all of us, need money etc
OMG….Not watching the rest of the video after 15:09. I’m fine with channels doing a small commercial for a product but when you do two, now you’re wasting our time. Plus it’s for a crappy Company. Had them deny a claim for their clear case that would never yellow and carried a lifetime warranty. They denied it, then after several attempts of contacting them, they never responded. It’s a $29 case, how hard is it to send a replacement? Total garbage company.
The problem is now, that all pro models will have bad quality from 3x to 5x (4.9x)
How will it still be good quality after 1.1x? There is no zoom lens between main camera and 3x.
Is this iPhone 16 photographer's reaction or mainly talking about CASETiFY?
Nothing wrong with a company sponsoring a video however, talking in details twice in the video can be annoying.
By the way their cases are ugly
When it jumped back into the castify ad I was so taken aback lmao
@@eyeamwema stopped the video and moved on
i am not here for casetify
So the 5X, I prefer the 5X telephoto for everyday, non photography stuff. “That guy across the street is wearing a stupid hat, I wanna send a pic to my friend”. But for actual photography, I would 100% prefer the 3x. It’s great for portraiture, and I just don’t have any interest in such a long lens. I was bummed to see them get rid of the 3x.
Solution for 17 Pro: a 48mp 4x lens -> also supports 8x virtually
i love you tyler, cuz you don't criticize what they didn't do but talk about what the camera can do the best type of content
Criticism is what's necessary in reviews, especially what they didn't do compared to competitors
@@waddellvisionyeah criticism is necessary but literally every competitor is just doing ai ai ai ai summary better than that nonsense
@@waddellvisionas if 99.99% of other vlogs dont talk about that. This is unique
I‘m with you on x3 lens. I had to get a new phone, waited for an Apple event and got … a brand-new 15 pro instead. What were they thinking, how do you leave a gap between somewhat usable 48mm (x2) and a 120mm lens? No portrait-range lens at all and a mild tele to replace a really useful lens? If they don‘t want to put a fourth sensor in the phone, they should at least go with a 77mm and 48mp sensor, that will still give you somewhat decent 12mp at x6…
Educate yourself on what a megapixel is. Let me know your conclusions.
@@ramonkroutzI could even educate you, if you‘d be a lesser ars. I’m a photographer with more than 40 years of taking pictures, and a master‘s degree in computer science on top, so go love yourself.
After watching the Toneh nortrup video I don't even wanna bother with these iPhone cameras
@@MrA-lexxx sweetie, than you'd know a phone sensor size is and always will be inferior to cameras. And the hype of having more mpixels is just that. A hype.
@@ramonkroutzsweetie, if you‘d be learning math in the school like other kids were, you’d know that a x2 crop from a 48mp sensor gives you 12mp luminance-wise with only reduced chrominance resolution due to quad bayer color filter. Which I take any day of the week over oversampled 3mp picture blown up to 12mp that you‘ll get under same conditions with a 12mp sensor. Smartphones as camera is always a compromise, but I don’t always have my Nikon dslr with all the lenses in my pocket when I might want to use it. My phone, however…
Would love to support you Tyler... but Casetify... nope.
Its a shame to make ads for company like Casetify that is stealing other peoples ideas. Didnt you hear about casetify stealing the design made by JerryRigEverything and Dbrand?? Will not watch any of you videos anymore.
A thief sponsor
I can’t believe he used them with a straight face.
I’m still using a 14 Pro Max with a 3x zoom, and it feels just right - I think that that the difference between 2x and 5x just feels too big. I was happy to not get a 15, but I’m undecided about this 16 Pro/Pro Max. That Camera Control sounds wonderful.
Wait for the 17

For those looking for a photographer’s review of the iPhone cameras, have a look at Tony Northrop’s review.
Need a 4th camera on the back so we can get both 3X and 5X zoom - maybe will come to the iPhone 26 Deluxe Ultra Max......
I find 14PM 3x lens has better image quality than 15PM 5x lens.
Can’t wait to see you try these things out! Big year for cameras.
This phone with a tiny weeny lens is NOT a camera!

6:42 this case looks pretty similar to the new area 51 skin from dbrand lol 😂
3x and 5x are not focal lengths. I had to leave your video to go look up phone specs to get the actual focal lengths that a photographer would use.
Why Casetify? Did we forget the dbrand lawsuit already? Tyler, you need better sponsors.
I guess its good money that lets people to forget everything
Didn't Casteify steal their designs from a TH-camr? Why do business with them?
Please drop that casetify sponsor
We love you Tyler, huge fan of your channel, i been following you since last years iphone pro 15, watching all the way from UK, i was waiting for your review on this, we love you
Hopefully next year we will get a 48mp telephoto sensor and then we will finally have caught up to my old Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra from 2021 that had a 50MP main sensor, 48MP telephoto and 48 MP ultra wide. And even though it will have caught up on sensor resolution, it is still WAY behind on sensor size. The Mi 11 Ultra had a 1/1.12" main sensor, 1/2" telephoto and 1/2" ultra wide. The iPhone 16 Pro Max has 1/1.28" main, 1/3.06" telephoto and as yet there's no confirmation of the ultra wide sensor size but you can bet it wont be anywhere near 1/2". I love my iPhone but man, Apple really drags their feet on hardware updates. The mi 11 Ultra had an AMAZING camera. It was a bit inconsistent, probably due to Xiaomi's software/tuning but when it hit the sweet spot, it pumped out photos that were absolutely stunning and still way better than the best photos I have captured on my 15 Pro Max.
All I want from the photos app is to remove photos from Recent when they go in an album. My pics from 2014 aren’t still “recent”
Seriously, I wish apple would add this. Organization in the photos app sucks so badly.
A few upgrades I wanna see in the next 2 iPhone generations:
- 48 megapixels telephoto camera (rumored for iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max)
- 24 megapixels TrueDepth camera (rumored for iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max)
- Sony IMX903 Stacked CMOS main camera Sensor (was rumored for the 16 Pro Max but did not make it)
- This will be a game changer - A telephoto lens with continuous lossless optical zoom. LG Innotek has already released a model with 4x to 9x continuous optical zoom, but I think we need one with 1.01x to 10/12x optical zoom, and if that cannot be done with one lens, then two 48 megapixels telephoto lenses where one goes from e.g. 1.01x to 5x & the second goes from 5.01x to 10/12x.
Thank you for this! I will never be a pro photographer/videographer but iPhones are the best option for the general population users to dabble in this kind of work. When they upgrade the cameras enough to help be take better shots, I know it's time to upgrade. Oh, and that action button was something I have asked for from the beginning! Thanks again.
Much appriciated. Best content about new products.
This new iPhone makes me wonder what direction they are going for next year. It's almost like this is a step before something bigger. Idk, I can upgrade if I want but may just stick with the iPhone 15 but those new video features are wicked nice.
from iPhone 15 not worth upgrade at all...spend money on new laptop or tab or tv or mobile data or JUST save for iphone 17
Ultra Wide 48MP and that dedicated camera button makes me happy. I shoot a lot of landscapes and these are major benefits. Especially when I don’t have my main camera on me and don’t want to miss a shot.
This was easier to watch than the actual keynote. Thanks, Tyler!
My fav thing ever year is seeing how Tyler can spin a mediocre iPhone update into a positive.. the type to think Deep Fusion was a game changer 🤣🤣
You are the Men Stalman!! Great review on the first glimpse for the iPhone 16 Pro & Pro Max!! Thanks for mention us on the Video as the Apple Macro Challenge Winners in 2022’. We did a rad interview, thank you very much!! Big hug from Indonesia!!
5x only 12 MP is disappointing!!!
that's for iPhone 17 or 18😂😅 48mp telephoto
Hold up, their 5x is only 12MP? Wow.
PAUSE VIDEO RECORDING??? NO ONE MENTIONED THIS! Thank you!
No-one uses the Iphone for content creation - other than for reviews (you only need to look at the gear link section of your fav TH-camr - minimum 10k of pro equipment). Tik-tok Influencers might take advantage of some the features, but these Pro shooting features are a gimmick to lure customers into the fantasy of one day making a short film or something.
I promise this assumption is incorrect
@@stalman how many of your video were shot primarily on the iphone?
Thanks!
Loved the video, hated Casetify.
Loved the video. Saw casetify. Turn off the video. Goodbye to the channel
The iPhone has a shutter button before this official shutter button….. if you an iPhone 11 to 15 you can use the volume down button as a shutter
Really hope they fixed the anti reflective/glare lens coating. My 15PM is the biggest POS I’ve ever used; unless there’s absolutely perfect lighting, images are filled with ghosting and aberrations and artifacts. It completely sucks. So bad that in january I’m dropping my iphone for the S25U.
Castefy dont deserve your support for ripping off others designs
0:24 correction AirPods Max we’re not really updated much only usb-c and colors but outside of that it still has an H1 chip instead of the better H2

Have you watched the Tony and Chelsea video about the iphone 16 cameras? I guess they have a point.
The only reason am upgrading to the 16 pro is because of the screen, 6'3 and the bezels...the rest, to me, same thing as the 15 pro. Am not a photographer and true or false, some people say it's the same camera as the 15 pro with a different name. Minor changes. The camera control...I don't think I'll use it that much.
missed your poll but I think I would prefer the 77mm lens to 120mm. But do we have any sense yet of how good it will be at computing a good 77mm equivalent shot? (Similarly, how good the plain 16 non-pro will be at this, even without any tele lens?)
4K at 120 FPS FINALLY! I don't understand people who still film in 30, 60 is barely acceptable. We should finally start seeing smoother videos on the internet in the future.
Video games have had high frame rates for a long time now, it’s about time our videos got an upgrade. It's unacceptable in 2024 to be filming at 30 or 60 frames per second.
When the frame rate is too low, it hurts the eyes and lacks fluidity, it's not pleasant to watch.
4K 120 FPS was the real info of the keynote
This was a very informative video. The knowledge this man has on pro-cameras is remarkable. That's why I subscribed.
I wish I had gone larger with the capacity this time. I stuck with 256gb and I kinda wish I had gone 512… oops..
The comments are on point with case ❤
It would have been more revolutionary if there was a way to add an SD card on the phone.
There is, USBC
sd card? okay grandpa
This guy’s video just made me unsubscribe him
Great video. Unfortunately, as someone with a 2020 5K intel iMac and an iPhone 14 Pro, the cost of entry into Apple's intelligence ecosystem would be expensive.
I look forward to the day when all the lenses look the same quality wise
The primary reasons you see these enormously large terabytes for devices such as iPhone and Macs are the file sizes from tech getting better as it has since birth, and now a terabyte is minimal 🎉
1:47 😂😂😂😂 I KNOW RIGHT? They always forget to show the SD CARD adapter when filming
I watched the weeknd video shot with the new iPhone but it looked really bad on my oled. Also they uploaded in 1080p. Not impressed. Can't compare with an actual cinema camera. Great video.
I actually like that the videos in the photos app don't initiate at full screen. I was sick of having parts of things cut off by buttons, menus, etc. It's still a way bigger image than it would have been full screen back in the day on a smaller phone.
literally no reason for ProRAW to not be in the base models, its just software
Dawg you’re so delusional??? *PRO* RAW.
It’s not called, *RAW format for the low end models*
The reason is money. You didn’t pay enough for it. It is not unreasonable to charge for software features
@@NotGarrettG it's an artificial boundary between the models, it's literally just software
@@frappes_ just because you define it doesn’t negate its purpose. It’s supposed to be FOR THE PRO MODELS…. How dense are you??

I was so hype to get the new phone for tech reviews and to review the phone itself………… that’s the whole story
8:42 no, the iphone 16 main sensor is the same as the 15, not the 15 pro.
just FYI for people: Airpods 4 will have wireless charging and Find My in their Active Noise Cancellation version. Extra $50 charge for those features
After all Casetify has done by stealing from others like dbrand you should be a better example to others by not supporting this company for a FEW extra bucks wow be better that's all I have to say
The video I was waiting for! Always love your perspective.
11:14 Google created this feature in 2017 and your only reference was openAI??? 🤡
Apple has also had the Google version of this feature for years
Same shit different number
Would a case cancel the usage of the new button?
It would likely have a cut out on third party cases. Apple case will have a pass through element
apple literally said the cases will still work with that button, the button will be covered by the same sapphire material but inbedded into the case which transfers the touches to the button
@@CrisCheese_those are Apple cases though, other cases will have a cut out. Most companies aren’t willing to put up X amount of dollars to find a sapphire supplier and hope not to overstock the expensive material
Great review. You've done a better job of explaining the new phone features (and their benefits) than Apple did in the showcase. You're someone who it seems to actually uses the phone, as opposed to the other tech reviewers such as MKHD (as brilliant as he is in his area), who it seems to me are basically driven by the need for new features to satisfy the techie fanbase, rather than having expertise in a specific user area.
17:35 negatives of iphones start here after video pause point
Tyler! So glad to see you again
How are you?
I'm great, thanks for coming back!
It feels like iPhone 16 is a stop-gap phone. There is no big must-buy feature for a lot of people going back to iPhone 13 Pro Max. Aso: Apple Intelligence doesn't even run on anything lower than iPhone 15 Pro's. That was last year's phone that was marketed as 'leaves desktops/PCs in the dust'. It barely holds up now? Apparently? I'm not sure how much Apple is locking Intelligence behind software. It's also late: Apple is catching up and it won't be in languages other than English and will not roll out fully until months from now, which can push people towards the iPhone 17, that will arrive when more features are readily available. And I agree with you on the Photos app. It's problamatic. Apple is changing things for the sake of changing things. iOS is not intuitive anymore for a lot of people. It feels bloated and more and more functions that just worked and made sense are now less user friendly. This has been going on for a few years now. A front facing camera that is never updated and a tele at 12mp is also unbelievable in 2024. The iPhone brand is strong but I wonder if customer loyaty is under pressure because Apple is not as innovative nor as user friendly as they used to be. At some point people will start looking for alternatives. If not better ones, then alternatives that offer the same features for less. iPhone is a premium product but right now, to me, it feels like Apple has a lot of catching upt o do and Apple needs to take a hard look in the mirror.
Punching in the zoom abruptly from 2X to 5X is not great if you want smooth zooming for video
Actually, on full frame cameras, a faster readout means LESS Dynamic Range. It's an engineering tradeoff.
Has the IQ of the ultra wide camera actually improved? It's really disappointing to see countless reviewers regurgitate apple PROPAGANDE brainlessly. No, 48 Mpxl is not necessarily better IQ than 12 Mpxl.
1:55 I'm confused … why is the size of pro log raw video a concern? Earlier you said you don't see the point of HDR video and just use SDR. But if size matters so much, and you want to manipulate the video, you'll get more out of an HDR compressed video (especially a 4K120 one) and it's also 10-bit, but my point is it has the bitrate to match. Whereas raw has insane bitrates yes, and is for very specific purposes only. I just can't see the purpose of using both extremes - smallest SDR MP4 and huge raw video - when the middle-ground is right there. Every HDR video can be downmapped to SDR if you prefer SDR. But if you want to draw more detail out of it, HDR 10-bit also gives SOME of that to you, but with WAY lower data rates, like 99% better.
So a tip: Even if you're targeting for 4K24 or 1080p24, just shoot 4K120 HDR compressed with HEVC. This has a ton of information that you're used to seeing in virtually-uncompressed footage. Try a bit in your workflow! See if you can tell the footage was shot on HEVC vs ProRes. Obviously it depends what your final delivery format is, but an A/B test would be edifying.
Most helpful consideration of the camera features i’ve seen. Thanks
Not sure how the regular 16 has macro mode, considering it doesn’t have a macro lens? I guess I’ll google it. The new Pro looks good for photography, amazing how far they’ve come in ten years.
But no mention of why no 10x optical?? Really disappointed we didn’t get that so I passed as I saw minimal differences to my 15 Pro Max 1TB
If I hire a photographer I better not see any iphone being used you'll be fired on the spot.
The ultra wide definitely got my attention
since the pro max and the xperia pro-i are similar in price .. does the iphone actually beat the xperia in photography and video? The xperia is very well integrated in the sony photography system and despite being significantly older, seems to feature similar specs.
I listened to your advice to wait upgrading my 12 pro max and see what the iPhone 16 pro has to offer 😮
Now I have my 12 pro max and I feel Ike I don’t need 4k120 and the studio mics I already use a rode mic 😅
My issue is that now I want to upgrade to the 15 pro max because it’s on sale with free AirPods Pro 2 but then I feel like going with the 16 pro because I already waited so long so it’s a sunken cost fallacy 😂 I don’t know what to do 😢❤ please help

What I like is to when I transfer the image file is transferred with the XMP data. Aka transfer all data. I wonder how Adobe camera can edit the transfer file.
I think my next upgrade point is if they can do more zoom lengths. Personally i just need a good 10x but for overall photos, id love more mp on the telephoto at 5x but can crop into a 6-7x zoom.
Just overall better zoom than waterpainting at 10x 😅
FYI Film photography is alive and well
Year after year, I wish they allowed us to tune the default micro contrast level. Some like it crazy crisp, like it was shot on Samsung, some others prefer it to be softer. They do quite much for photographers, we can tweak the default photographic styles, but the micro contrast is what I'm really missing, it's the major issue with the non-RAW images I get from the iPhone.
Didn't seem to be a major emphasis on AI with photo/video. Wasn't sure what to expect in this specific regard, but figured we'd see some clever/semi-magical AI feature for media creation.
otherwise, seems like a great upgrade from the 15 Pro! great breakdown here, thanks sir 👌

4:15 you already can shoot on the 15 Pro/Max h.264/265 in Apple Log using third party app like the Blackmagic App (which is free). You don’t have to use the Apple native photo app neither the Final Cut Camera app to get what you want, so why this complaint?
The bit rate of H265 BMC and Kino is way too low to prevent banding, and this is an API issue effecting all third party apps
