Civic Type R is also fast in corners, but seems significantly faster than this Renault in straight. LEON cupra 300 too. I find it slower than the claimed 280 bhp figure. I have a Scirocco 2.0TSI 200 with Stage 2 tune to 274 bhp, and it is ¡3 seconds! faster in a 60-180 km/h, compared to what I see in this video (I chronoed 60-180 because is the time I once chronoed in my car)

True! Already the Megane 3 RS was a beast in corners. The VAG cars cant beat that. But also the car is a lot faster after the ecu gave you more power. for example the old 3 rs was also struggeling to reach 250 in the youtube videos, in real i drove 2 one's which did that a lot faster. One even reached 270 (not gps-stock-rs 275)

I think you never took place in the Megane RS. As i said no VAG car has a chance against the MRS3 and i think even the MRS4. It's really a beast on street and! track for its power/price. The VW GTI 6/7 just for an example, is far away from its stability on street. I drove them both a long time, there's a big! difference. Also the Megane RS gives you an amazing sports car feelin on the street. Not like daddys GTI.

the old megane rs (275 hp) had a 2.0 litre engine. the new one has a 1.8 litre engine, following the clio 's rs philosophy which one was downsized too from 2.0 to 1.6 litre. 2.0 litre engine is a 2.0 litre engine... any other engine smaller than at least 2.0 litres is trash for those cars. A sport car should wear a sport engine.Unfortunatelly or not, those cars are not for all of us.
Seems like alot of engine sound from the speakers or is it just me hearing that? At this pricepoint more logical choice would be i30N, we will have to see when cup version will come to see the price gap.
That's cool and all but an E-class weighs about 2000kg, a 400 weighs more. They have very long gearing and they are diesels. Your 1.8T hatchback should have a more acceleration focused torque curve, way shorter gearing, and most importantly, about 700kg lighter than the cars you compare it to. Not to mention the greater aerodynamic effort that an E-class has compared to a hatchback at 200km/h.
Autotop nl loosing quality... same cars(several brands and very few models), cars in review you wish are on autobahn they are not..lazier editing, often missing speedometer,missing GPS speed.. BTW I m big fan of channel and hope to see more brands and models maxed on autobahn. Cheers

Up to 240km/h is fast but last 15km/h up to 255 km/h is sluggish, but overall it's nice acceleration and top speed for 1.8 engine and 1500kg car.

Everytime the system shifts gears, sounds like the gearwheels were not lubricated correctly. Good thing the car's available with a manual gearbox.
