It's worth noting that the 30 free hours is only offered from school term after your child turns three. The terms are January, April and September, so if your child turns three in May, for example, they aren't eligible until September. Also, because the government doesn't adequately fund the early years settings many nurseries still charge for these so-called "free" 30 hours per week, which could be a few pounds per hour. Also, the 30 hours is term time only whereas most people need childcare 52 weeks per year so many nurseries adapt the scheme to offer 22 hours per week 52 weeks per year. I can't remember if you said, but also the government will only contribute £2000 per year in tax free childcare so anything after the first £8000 per year or £666 per month the government won't top up and you will pay the full fee. You can use tax free childcare at the same time as the 30 "free" hours scheme. As you indicated, because of the high cost of childcare and because these government schemes only help so far it's often financially disadvantageous to work full time rather than part time, especially when you factor in travel to work time which has to be covered by an hourly charging nursery. I am currently trying to work out these costs for two children as I am due to go back from maternity leave and with two it certainly doesn't seem worth going back to work!

Thanks for sharing the information about 30 hours of free childcare and maximum limit of government contributions. I am still figuring out the best ways of arranging childcare.

@@SumanPaulDoc It's such a nightmare. The UK is one of the most expensive countries in the world for childcare. For anyone (from the UK like us, or from overseas) who doesn't have extended family nearby it is a real stretch financially until your children go to school.

Thanks for sharing Suman ❤❤. Can I f a doctor has ilr can he apply for the government child care assistance you talked about?
I have a second question Suman, please can you share your experience in a separate video of your experience as a medical registrar in charge during a cardiac arrest situation in the UK for the first time😊😊😊😊. I think that would be interesting to know. God bless you for all your helpful tips and videos they are very helpful ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Yes, it's possible after ILR. I have done it.
Good suggestion. Cardiac arrests are simulated quite extensively during ALS and annual resus training refresher.so you will be experienced even before attending/leading the first cardiac arrest.
