I'm British and my only contact with the NHS is if I'm ill - I don't work for them, but I find your videos fascinating! That's down to you being a very good communicator.
Its so fortunate you both have each other, you bypass so many issues like loneliness and loss of direction just because of that. Also do a video on how you guys manage time. :)
I'm a currently an A level student in Malaysia,am planning to get my MBBS in China and then eventually practice in the UK. So I'm on my road to UK as its my main goal, and therefore I've found your videos very helpful and fascinating! Will definitely book a personal session when the time comes. Nonetheless, keep up the good work!
This only really applies to international graduates who don't have medical debt. Most British medical graduates have £50,000 upwards of debt with repayments to be made in addition to other costs. Sure it's possible if you keep your costs very low and you live in a cheaper area of the country.
Yes we are a channel for IMGs, but the main concepts of budgeting and saving still hold. And it's not as though IMGs may not have debt or external costs either.
Hey! Just needed to ask if you guys have ever made any video on where exactly do you get jobs in the UK? Like is England or Whales or others and if you gotta work in the rural type areas around the big cities? Great work btw🌸
Hello Dr, I have been working in the casualty department of a government hospital in India as a medical officer for 7 years. At what level I can get a job in NHS. Designation? FY2 or CT1 ? I want to know the Pay Scale.

My kids in primary School... plz suggest how much average I can save in UK after tax, rent, groceries , travel etc etc Avarage life .,...
Hi guys! I’ve been following you guys for sometime now and I’m taking my plab 1 this November. And I’m in my internship period I’ve always wanted to know how you landed a CT1 grade job with just internship? What extra things did you do to skip through the FY2 post. I’d really appreciate that Thanks
We didn't really 'skip' the FY2 post per se as it isn't mandatory, but what we did do is look at all the job posts for CT1 levels and see if they met our capabilities. Please also see: th-cam.com/video/SJkSaQ5FApM/w-d-xo.html
I am kinda confused what to opt in coming year.. I am a niqabi with a lot of ambitions.. But I don't know if I should opt for UK.. As far as I know they don't allow practicing veil for a doctor... It's much of my concern.....
Thank you for yet another great video! Just a Follow up question, you mentioned the monthly rent for your hospital accommodation was 600 pounds. Was that for a single room with an en-suite bathroom where you share the kitchen and living space, or a mini flat of your own? I’m trying to understand the cost of hospital accommodation so I can plan finances a bit better. There isn’t too much information on the web i could find either. Thank you :)
@@RoadToUK wow that is actually more wise i guess. Did you guys also manage to go beyond saving some for your house goals and also invest some money in a compounding interest related index funds/etf account??? Maybe a video related to that.
Can we save money to buy a house if we're not married? Very few unmarried ladies buy a house, especially international ones. Is it because a doctor's salary is less?
Yes, you can save your money just as well as anyone else. Being unmarried or a woman doesn't preclude you from keeping to the budget tips we've given in the video. Salary for an individual is not based on their marital status or gender- so the salary won't be less. As mentioned in the video, find a range for which you'd be willing to pay for a place, and save towards it.
We saved our money on our own- so you don't need someone else if you have a defined goal of what you'd want to save towards. But yes, there being two of us, we could save more.
You are so obsessed with money. Just an observation from an Artisan who loves my job. It is very depressing to listen to you from a potential patient perspective. Can you talk about the wonderful work you do, in a profession you are preferliage to be in,instead of money money money!!! It's very off putting.
We have several videos covering our 'preferliage' but at the end of the day- we need a salary to survive and thrive. And it's important to know how to save! Thanks for watching :)

Is it really easy to get locums? Where and how can one find them?
You speak with your hospital's rota office. Our hospital has an app that lets us book locums but the rota office also sends out a locum list email.
