- Leaving Barbridge we travel on our Narrowboat to the Middlewich Junction and turn on to new waters. Come with us to Snugbury's, where they serve up the most amazing ice cream and create giant scupltures. We continue to cruise along the Middlewich Branch of the Shropshire Union in an attempt to find some shade for Ernie. Watch our drone footage of the area, see the Mink that we spotted and see poor Ernie loose his fur!

Things here are improving slowly. Looking forward to your next video. Stay cool, stay safe.
@colingibson3921 Thanks for joining us again Colin, good to hear things are improving. See you next time 😊
May your days be filled with perfect mooring spots and may Ernie have plenty of shade.
Liz you did a great job of cutting hair, both Ernie's and Paul's.
You can tell the people of Snugbury's take great pride in their town ~ good ice cream too.
Stay safe and take good care of yourselves ~ 🤗💝Lacy, Mike & Hamish🐾
Thank you. I must admit I do tend to practise on Paul first before Ernie sits in the barbers chair 🤣😊
Love the vlogs!
Every time Ernie appears the wife and I both shout “Rubbish!” In our best, cross-the-pond British voices.
Please keep the vlogs coming. They are the most entertaining of the dozen or so channels we follow.
Ha ha love hearing this, I can picture you both saying 'rubbish' 🤣🤣😊
Awwww bless him, bet Ernie was thinking “oh just go away and let me rest” great video guys. X
He hates it Kathy, although he loves the attention so he can't really win 🤣😊
Hi Liz Paul and Ernie. I have only just discovered your channel two weeks and really enjoying watching your adventures on your narrow boat. Keep up the good work guys and thanks for all the laughs. Take care guys.
Thanks Thomas and welcome along our journey with. Glad you found our channel. Hopefully see you again here next week 😊
Ok, at the @14:30 mark, my first thought was Paul had stood on top of the boat and taken a whiz...lol. But after seeing how big the so called rainbow was, I knew it wasn't him...🤔but then again, maybe there's a reason Liz always has such a happy smile. 😳😂🤣. Sorry guys, I hope I didn't step over the line with that one...lol. Thanks for another fun vlog. Take care.
🤣🤣🤣
Lovely vlog as always guys.....thank you.....xx
Glad you enjoyed it😊😊
So glad you got to Snugbury's ❤ We do this journey in reverse tomorrow - bringing our boat from Aqueduct Marina to Nantwich. Happy travels on the Middlewich Arm ❤😊
Good luck with your journey tomorrow. Exciting times for you 😊
Awwww lovely vlog and cruise. Looks idyllic. Best wishes. ❤
Thanks for watching Trevor 😊
Thanks Liz Paul & Ernie another great vlog😊. Your definitely finding some lovely mooring spots with great views, I'm sure the weather's better were you are as we've not had that good a weather well not for days on end . And no l wasn't glued to the football last night but visitors hence tonight's viewing of your vlog, well worth the weight 👍 so keep up the excellent work.
Hi Simon and of course Earl. The weather didn't last, 3 days later it returned to rain 🤣
Hi Liz Paul & Ernie, we carry a fishermans umbrella to provide shade for Poppy. It also attaches via the brollymate to the tiller arm as shade for the helmsman or when it is raining keeps him or her dry. Happy travels x
We have actually got a fisherman's umbrella but when it's up Ernie will sit anywhere other than under it 🤣🤣 hope you guys are well. 😊 big hugs to poppy 🐾
You three are a breath of fresh air compared to some of the vlogs on here. Please don't ever stop
Thank you so much, we are so glad you enjoy the videos. 😊😊
IM WARCHING YOU THURSDAY AFTERNOON BEEN WORKING SO NOW I CAN SIT BACK AND WATCH YOUR STUFF THE WEATHER IS DULL IT DONT FEEL LIKE JULY HOWS ERNIE AND YOUR SELFS

Beautiful vistas!! Enjoy the summer weather.
The summer was was unfortunately over after 3 days and rain returned 🤣
Great vlog, love Ernie. You stopped at some lovely places xxkeep cool
Thanks for watching and we are glad you enjoyed 😉 hope to see you here next week 😊
Hey guys 👋 Lovely to reflect back on the one nice week we had lol. Here’s hoping to a few more to come 😊 Great video with some brilliant drone shots ❤Have a blessed week 🙏
I think 'nice week' is stretching it, was only 3 days I think in the end before it rained as usual 🤣 have a fab week Vicky and hope to see you here next week 😊
@@uponreflection lol yep, I got all excited and got the small paddling pool out (well it’s more like a big blow up bath lol) . I did get 2 days use then the 3rd day was more out of denial that the sun was going as it was a bit chilly and not enjoyable. I’ll be here next week ♥️
Omg! I need to visit Snugburys. Great vlog, late to it this week but great to have a diversion on a very wet and coolish Friday.
You really must visit Jean, it's the best ice cream I've had for sure. 😊
Hi Liz, Paul and Captain Ernie
Liz that was a terrific picture of the mink. For all of my time around the wild critters I never knew that they swam, so many thanks for that part in your vlog. We are never too old to learn.
Paul, when you wear your western hat and don't speak one could take you for a real Albertan cowboy yeeehaw. If we should ever meet up I'll teach you how to yeee haw, lol.
Captain Ernie, with that new hair style you better keep a low profile around the ladies or else you might miss the boat, wink, wink, know what I mean jelly bean??
Just for the record we saw 36 in the shade today.
Mark
Alberta, Canada
Wow Mark 36degrees blimey that's a warm one! We've had rain again🤣🤣 Captain Ernie, seems to be currently swapping numbers with a petit white dog he met a few days back 🤣 The fur trim seems to be a success 🤣😉
OMG a pup in every port lol. Captain Ernie, you old sea dog. @@uponreflection
@markrant1460 🤣
Good night Ernie and liz and Paul I love watching your videos of you and your adventures on your narrow boat I hope that you all are well and enjoying your adventures on your narrow boat what's a horses favorite sport I love dressing up in real cowboy and western clothes because my dad me and mum went somewhere that had a show on for my 54th birthday I was giving a cowboy hat and brought a blue check shirt for to wear when I do karaoke and sing country roads and don't break my breaky hearr I still looking for some boots and a cowboy scarf please say hi to Ernie please keep up the good work up on your videos on your you tube channel please keep safe and warm ❤ every videos of you and your adventures on narrow boat
What lovely memories David. I don't know, what is a horses favourite sport? Ernie says a big hello back 😊
Enjoyable vlog once again. The banter between you always makes me smile. Keep on enjoying what you do.
ATB to the 3 of you. Take care.
Glad you enjoyed it Yvonne. Have a good week 😊
You too.@@uponreflection
Another great video and you both look good with your haircut
Thanks for joining us again Glynnis. Ernie already needs another trim, it's non stop maintenance with a Doodle 😉😊
Aw poor Ernie. He sat so still having a haircut. Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts xx
It didn't last long, it rained the following day 🤣😊
Hi guys
Love the vlogs, I started watching mainly due to Ernie as we have a 10.5 year old red labradoodle called Archie who passed away on Tuesday so I was watching this one with a tear in my eye.
Keep enjoying each other and living the dream.
Best wishes from Australia
Oh Glen I'm so sorry to hear about your loss of Archie. Big hugs and a big Ernie hug being sent your way. 🫂🐾
Great video as usual 👍You filmed every boat we know except ours 😥
Enjoy the rest of your journeys 👍
Oh no, sorry Jan 😉😊
Never mind, we might see her in another video 👍
I'm with Ernie, I need my shade! I enjoy your vlogs, watching from Tennessee.
Hi there Lisa from Tennessee. Thanks so much for watching and glad to hear that you enjoy the vlogs. I used to be able to sit in the sun all day a year or so ago but now I'm with you and Ernie too and like to find some shade 😊
Really nice and fun thanks Ernie 🦮
Ernie says 'your welcome Robin' 🐾🐾
Gr8 vid guys as always, sorry no fish caught Paul... And Liz's pushing the wrong way was a classic 🤣... Cheers Rob
Honeslty Rob I might have been there a long time if I wasn't embarrassingly told I was pushing it the wrong way..I was putting all my might in to it 🤣🤣😊
*Good arvo (afternoon) Liz, Paul & Ernie 🙂 Loving the drone footage.... the countryside scenery looks stunning 🙂 Gee can you send your high temps over my way thanks 🙂 Enjoy being parked up under shade and you all can walk 10 footsteps to be out in the sun again 🙂 Oh Liz pushing the lock thingee the wrong way... lol 🙂 Ernie just wanted to be left alone to have a sleep and dream of his doggie GF that he met recently.🙂 You all have a fabulous week 🙂nz*
Hi Andrea. I would send some heat your way except that heat only lasted 3 days and then was back to rain as usual 🤣 I'm slightly concerned over little Ernies girl dog friend scenerio as he seems to be making lots of new girly friends along the way. We would say over here that he's a bit of a 'player' then ups and leaves them all heartbroken 🤣 How's your week been?😊
@@uponreflection *Oh dear Liz, what has daddy Paul been teaching 'little' Ernie, when you are not about, that he has become a jack-the-lad with the girl dog friends?? Or having a girl dog in every port oops canal?😂🤣😂🤣 Just as well Ernie has had the chop/snip 🙂 Or you could have ended up grandparents to many puppies along the waterways of England. 🤣😂🤣😂 So it seems that Spain is up against England in the soccer final!!! So at the end of the game, Paul will either be jumping for joy or sobbing profusely into his pillow. You gotta film it either way of his reaction 🙂. My week has been good... waiting on a couple of quotes and then also finding out there is a delay in getting pigmented sealer paint to seal the aqua gib-board in the bathroom. So all work has not started until I get that product. But so over the snap-cold week we are having. 🙂.*
@andreacrashe9894 hope you get the sealant paint soon so you can crack on with the works. Paul will be watching the football in the pub and myself and Ernie will be staying well away from all that drama 😂😊
@@uponreflection *Liz & Ernie have fun doing your thing... whilst Paul watches a ball go up and down the pitch for 90 minutes... ;-) Well, I shall be watching Rugby tonight on telly of the All Blacks vs England in the second test tonight being held in Mt Eden , Auckland. We beat the English team last week in the first test in Dunedin, NZ. 🙂 Go the All Blacks 🙂 🙂.*
@@uponreflection *Liz, A great game of Rugby was had tonight at Mt Eden park in Auckland, New Zealand... All Blacks 24 vs England 17 🙂Yessss Go the All Blacks... 🙂.*
ha ha the beauty of a bow thruster
I we haven't actually got a bow thruster 🤣😊
@@uponreflection the front should have a cowboy with a pole lol
Ok, from a Sussex born and bread having been in North Wales for a number of years this is the "cheat's" way of saying Llangollen. You can getaway with saying "Clan - goth - len" and then "Pont - k - cill - ta" Aqueduct which should help you both, especially Paul 😂
I've screen shot this 🤣 so I've got it in my camera roll to use. Thank you 😉😊
Ah!those long hot days, just a distant memory 😅.l painted my boat pole in a traditional barley twist (nightmare)the blue got everywhere and the plank l put sanded chevrons for grip.Best of luck Liz l know you’ll do a great job.😊
Good idea with the sanded chevrons for grip on the plank. I've not even started that job yet if I'm honest...I'll get round to it one day 🤣😊
Hi you three. Saw you yesterday as we sailed past. Boat Demelza. Lesley & Bob onboard. We are moored just before the boat lift on the 2 day moorings. We are going down tomorrow afternoon. Seems very quiet. The lift seems quiet not much traffic. The two day moorings are just after the Anderton Marina under the bridge. After the second bridge it’s one day mooring. Might see you on the Weaver. 😘
Hi guys. Nice to catch you yesterday as you went past. We will be heading that way in the next couple of days..exciting but also quite nervous about going onto the river. 😊
After weeks of careful concentrating and listening I heard Erniie's undertone mutter 'get your excuses in first
dude whilst going to take that right turn'(he always says dude when the gaffer's wearing that hat)....................I could tell he wasn't that impressed.......................he is very smart............ our Ernie.
🤣🤣 He definitely was getting his excuse in first wasn't he...Ernie and I both saw straight through him there 🤣🤣 all so he gets a 'well done' when it doesn't go wrong 🤣😉😊
watching your vlog while England play the Netherlands, I'm shouting England the other half is shouting for the birth nation of Netherlands, very tense evening ahead i guess
Watching football as Ernie is shouting 'Rubbish' across to you 🤣🤣😊
Lol, what are you like, guys! Abusing Erns like that! Great to see you enjoying the summer on the canal! I was wondering how you know which bridge is high enough so you can keep the canopy up. Or do you always take it down?
So enjoy your vlogs, watch them multiple times during the week. ❤🐕❤️
Hi Eric, we always take the canopy down when cruising as like you said you just never know what bridge is coming up next 😊 Bless you for watching them mote than once, that's true commitment there 🤣😊😊
@@uponreflection i love to watch it at breakfast time, puts you straight into a good mood! 💎
@tteric67 this is lovely to hear 😊
Enjoyed thank you Xx
Thanks Edward. Glad you enjoyed 😊
Considering the size of the boat Paul that was a good turn into Middlewhich arm, You know Mink only on the canals and countryside because some animal activists in the seventies released them all from mink farms, now they are killing all the small mamals and fish along rivers and canals. We moan when it rains, we moan when it's hot.... Stop yer moaning enjoy it while it lasts :) Get the barby out and get the burgers goin! :) The worst thing is Liz it's horse fly season bloody hate them buggers, they think i'm sunday dinner and invite all thier friends to dine haha! :) I love the cakes from Venetian Marina whenever I'm in the area always pop in for a coffee an cake. Great vlog lovely people, lovely sunshine... Perfic :)
We're British, we always moan about the weather 🤣🤣 We actually thought it was an otter at first but someone corrected us and said it was too small for an otter and would probably be a Mink. The bite went down eventually took a good 10days though. May have been a horse fly but it didn't itch which wa bizzare. 😊
Love the video, great to see you visit Snugburys, amazing place, we took a visiting German friend there and all had an ice cream. Now I've seen you there with Ernie gonna take our Border Collie with us next time, we live between Nantwich and middlewich so not far from it.❤
Hi Sandra, yes it's great for a little dog outing as they can walk the field to where the sculpture is. Also I think they do doggie ice cream too 😉😊
Hey guys at last some hot sunshine for you but does it last 😂
Strike the pose Paul.
Liz hope your leg is better a mosquito bite caused ne to have sepsis and has changed my life as you know so please keep your eye on it xxx
Hi there Deb, sadly the sunshine didn't last long, rain followed. My leg is better now, took about 10days though. Still not sure what it was as it didn't itch..maybe a horse fly bite as I've not been stung/bitten by one before so maybe that's why it reacted so badly. All ok now though 😊
That's brilliant regards to your leg x
Hopefully sun is comming home next week oh and the football x
Looking Good you two, same meat different gravy😂😂😂
Big hugs coming your way, it seems strange you watching us but we really glad you do. 😍
👍
Thanks for watching 😊
The answer is stable tennis
Very good 🤣🤣
Hello Ernie
Hi Glynnis 🐾 🐾
high both to my gorgeous couple sorry i haven't been on for three weeks but i've been in hospital i had a high power attack i'm getting over it now but i've missed your video so much love always dave kiss kiss kiss kiss
Oh Dave sorry to hear you've been so poorly. Please rest up and hope you are better now 😊
thank you liam for your lovely message it means so much to me to show somebody care so much love to you both and turn away always dave
Hi. NB Demelza here. Lesley & Bob. The lift was fine. Very slow. The river is fine hardly any current. We turned right from the lift and moored at the Barton moorings with bollards hidden in the grass. Just before Saltersford lock. No views as yet. The Danny Adamson steam boat has passed us twice. Hope to see you on the Weaver. X
Thanks for messaging. I was thinking about you guys this morning. We are in two minds at the moment whether to go on to the river or not. We are quite worried incase the lift shuts or something after we heard this morning about people stuck on the lancaster canal due to the ribble link closing suddenly. We wouldn't want to get stuck on the river. We are going to make our minds up for sure in the next few days. Just so unsure of what to do. 😊
@@uponreflection we were a bit worried too. I am sure it’s fine. Bob spoke to someone who said they got stuck when the lift broke a few years ago. There were about 20 boats and they escorted them up the Manchester ship canal to Manchester. So you would not be trapped. Every Thursday they do maintenance on the lift. We feel quit confident. Go on………..you only live once ❤️
@lesleyjohnson7262 mmmm, we shall have a think. We wouldn't turn back anyhow, we would continue up the trent and mersey which pretty much runs along above the river so we may still see you from afar if we don't go.😉😊
@@lesleyjohnson7262 we've booked it 😉 booked the lift for Wednesday 🤭😊
@@uponreflection Great!!!! We are turning around on Wed. Going towards Northwich. Might see you. What time is the lift. Honestly the river is like a lake. Hardly any current. Good news 😁😁😁
Well done guys , enjoyed your latest vlog, who flies the drone ? It's really good , and the weather your getting looks great !😊👍
Thanks John, glad you enjoyed. Normally , I would fly the drone but on this occasion most of the good shots Paul actually did. He seems better at it than me. 😊
You are the bollocks 👍
Thank you 😊😊
Paul, it looks like you used the same shears as Ernie did. I see why you’re now wearing a hat.
Paul's always my warm up before I do Ernie 😉🤣
