    I moved to Pierce County in 1980, after a 2 week visit and regret nothing.
    Living inside a picture postcard will give you a sore neck from whipping your head around looking at everything. It's worth it!

      In 2024, still no regrets? There’s a hell of a lot of difference between a 1980 pierce county and 2024, it’s not even recognizable.

      @@alanmeyers3957 I have done nothing for which to be regretful, but I lament the demise of this onetime "paradise" to the liberal displacement of the previously conservative/middle American values which were the backbone of all society.

    As someone who lived in Olympia, I really miss the beauty of the state. I would play baseball and after every game, I would walk to my dads truck, I look to my left, and I will never forget the beauty of Mt. Ranier in the distance, with a sunset behind the mountain it was so beautiful, and I moved in July, and I remember my last game of baseball ever, I stared at Mt. Ranier for at least a minute with me sobbing, I didn’t want to leave. I miss everything about the state, except the rain

    I lived in Vancouver for a few years, got tired of stepping over junkies and potential dead bodies outside my office building.

Took a week vacation to orcas island in August, then went back home to Texas and started making plans, quit my good job at ExxonMobil, sold two houses, bought a travel trailer and hauled the family up here and landed in Puyallup. Real! It really is too darn expensive here.. we’re military and have lived mostly on the east side like Tennessee… since we moved to Washington it’s a real struggle! We never even payed close to the utilities and housing like we do here in Washington.. it’s crazy expensive I know there are other more expensive places.. but man I’ve never payed about $3,000 to rent a 3 bedroom home and that’s standard. We don’t even stay in a city area and it’s that expensive.. My husband is even at a decent rank! It’s not worth it! It also seems to be getting worse. Tennessee was a lot easier to live at than here. Just my opinion… if people got the money and all that by all means.. but man it’s a huge no for me. I’ve never even seen this much homeless people as well. It’s really sad..

    It is a beautiful place. I used to spend a couple weeks in Washington state at a couple of different locations every year but it’s turned into a cesspool and in many areas it’s very dangerous. Tukwila and Seattle has out of control crime and out of control homeless people everywhere and most of them are drug addicts or alcoholics. Spokane is just as bad. Just be careful where you’re going. there is absolutely some beautiful scenery but be careful where you’re going and where you’re staying

After i got out of the navy i moved to WA i hated CA . 10 years ago it was wonderful. Bur in the past 10 years there was a decline. Too many laws now restricting my way of life and too crowded. My wife who has lived in Washington her entire life wants to leave also.

  • @aliciamarie9704
    @aliciamarie9704 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I mean, that’s probably because you came from Missouri. I came from Colorado, so I don’t agree with you. That being said, nature out here is amazing. I’m not crazy about the nonstop rain and then no rain at all in the summer. I’m not crazy about the hassle of going places. In Colorado, you could easily go to a waterfall, a wilderness trail, or a mountain in less than an hour. In WA, the wilderness is so vast that you might live 45 minutes from Mt. Rainier as the crow flies…but it’ll take you 3 hours of driving on roads that’ll make anyone in the back seat vomit.
    It’s all about what you value. I’ve lived in 5 different states. My favorite by far has been Colorado. Even though I’m complaining, Washington would be at #2.

      Getting a head is really hard! Especially on finances. Really in places like CA where cost of living is so high! Are you saving anything? It’s okay if it takes a long time as long as your making progress. Progress is progress no matter how small.
