Dil se has a great love story apart from terrorism part the way manisha and srk pulled it no actor can replace it i bet it should be re realsed just a gem classic ❤
Manisha Koirala should have been awarded the Filmfare best actress Award for her outstanding performance in this film. But despite being nominated, she was denied the award due to industries nepotism.
Underrated dil se underrated performances srk and manisha should win national awards for their acting, I love dil se

I concur with most of the comments here. I believe that Dilse album is the pinnacle of ARR. 25 yrs and even now - it would not be out of place in any latest movie. The only grouse for me was the fantastic background themes were not released when the audio cassettes came in. They have to be found separately on TH-cam
Those days, BGMs were musused by TV channels for they serials. Thus ARR never relesaed them. Now India has learnt to respect - IPR. That's the reason.

In the journey of music production, ar rahman is a co passenger at driver seat. Not a driver.
Being co passenger, one can enjoy the company of others, crack jokes share food and make the journey memorable.
But just being a driver, should concentrate on driving.
So being a co passengers, arr comforts his musicians yet he knows how to ride to the destination to generate great music.
This is the difference between arr and any music director whom i know.
By the way "Dil se re" is THE song I use to test any audio equipment before I buy. Like earphones, speakers..

This was a heavily underrated movie - absolute classic movie and one in which SRK actually did well in the acting dept. Manisha is an acclaimed actress even before this movie- Mani Sir’favourite from Bombay movie.

25yrs of one of the most iconic soundtracks ever to come out of India. Over the years, there has been different songs of this track that was my favorite - Chaiyya Chaiyya and Ee Ajnabi had the immediate hooks that made us play those on loop at the start. However, Satrangi Re and the title track had that magical hold that lasts forever on you...

When Dilse was released every stereo had its songs playing and everyone knew it had music by Rahman. It was quite unusual because music mostly got known by singers rather than composers from where I am. ARRahman had already become a household name with his albums like Kaadhalan and Bombay at that time.

25 years of Dilse unbelievable...Present music is vanishing quickly but the music of 90s feels afresh...Dilse album had 6 songs side A had Chaiyya Chaiyya, Jiya Jale, Dil se re side B had Ae Ajnabi, Satrangi Re, Thayya Thayya...all different variety of music...The musical instruments used the sound mixing the quality of recording feel it is done in 2023...Mindblowing album the music done from Dilse(from heart) by ARR...

I don't know why this show management didnt recognized telugu poets ..mentioned only hindi and Tamil writers in the album ...
The movie also introduced Preity Zinta ..the iconic song at Periyar Tiger Reserve was an instant hit ...her dimpled smile was also a rage.😊 And as they say rest is history

25 years already 😮, I heard Chaiya chaiya song in a teakadai (tea shop) in front of my college a deep South (TN) town, song sounded so alien to south ears , I still vividly remember the faces of people listening to that song , people were not able to place the song , they were thrilled and confused at the same time, they didn’t know if they like it but surely were not able to reject it, within a few days , it was playing everywhere repeatedly 😂

I loved the song that only comes in the movie, in the shahrukh and pretty betrothal scene , this was pre TH-cam era, wanted this song so badly, went to burmabazzar in chennai looking for a pirated dvd, wasn’t available because the movie was an utter flap, went to almost all shops, finally one shop owner quizzically asked you want THAT MOVIE? Ok come after two days , I still got those 3 cds 😂😊

Wow..a very unconventional script to be played by mainstream actors even in today’s OTT times! Hats off to Mani Ratnam, ARR, Gulzar for Dilse and Manisha Koirala too for her unusual role. Though, is rumoured that Kajol was the original choice for this role and she had rejected due to date issues and then the role was Manisha’s baby! But unfortunately, had this movie been a solid hit, MK wud’ve been a huge actress at that time and career wouldn’t have started sinking!
It did well overseas. In India - it has acquired a cult status. 25 years ago... we were not willing to accept realistic characters...
