I've seen this story before and OP did add some comments that clarify things. He only hand fed the first bite. After that he was cracking the legs and then handing her the pieces and the "convincing" that he had to do to get her to try. It was telling her to try it with the sauce. It wasn't sexual at all. I think op's friend is just jealous. Maybe she wishes her boyfriend were more affectionate.
NTA. This speaks more to the friends relationship and what there is or isnt in it. The simple act of feeding food is not sexual. Parents do it with their children. Owners do it with their dogs. In order for the act to be sexual, thr intent must be sexual. At its base, feeding someone is a sign of caring.
I think it says a lot about the people that consider that foreplay and probably reflects a lot about themselves. Was Lady and the Tramp doggie 🌽 by Disney? 😂
It sounds more like this friend is jealous so they construed it to something creepy and weird to make themself feel better that they don't have the sort of relationship with their partner that OP does.
NTA! He knows her eating habits and has discovered that by "hand feeding" something new to her is likely the only way she would try it. Is there also a bit more to it? Possibly. But it's really no one else's business and should be ignored, especially if the friend also knows how much of a picky eater she is.
my husband and I have this dynamic aswell, he really can not deal with having to prepare seafood (shrimp, pawns, crab and such), he doesn't like seeing food when the eyes are still there. watching. so I would prepare it for him and sometimes feed it to him because my hands are already dirty. I don't consider it as forplay or roleplay or anything. I just want to make sure when we go out he is able to eat the food he wants to even if I have to crack shells
😂 OMG I love listening to you tell stories, this made my day, and Candy laughing in the background was the best, thank you both for always making my day. 😂😅
There are ways to turn feeding each other into foreplay, but it does not sound like OP and her other half did any of that. Unless there were things that OP did that she did not realize she was doing then she should be fine. For example, if she surprisingly liked the lobster and moaned because it was so good, the friend may have misunderstood. Bet the friend felt like she was a third wheel, and picked the wrong wording to ask for more attention.
Foreplay is different for different people. Maybe the friend has role-played in the past where feeding each other by hand has lead to more, and this reminded her of that. NTA for laughing. But I don’t think we should be judging the friend for this, either. Food can be sexual.
I don't find it role play. I just think it looks weird. Like a parent feeding a child. I've been out with people before who did this. The whole dessert, he kept feeding it to my friend. He never took a bite himself. I just said "You know she can eat without your help right?" Lol Once or twice is OK, but the whole thing is just weird.
Just because you don't like that kind of affection doesn't mean other people shouldn't do it. I, for one, would happily feed my partner if she wanted or I felt like it and she consented. 🤷♂ I've also fed her while she was doing something else and her hands were busy. Like if she was playing Zelda or the like. And she's fed me before too. We just find it as a sweet gesture, like obviously it can be kinky, especially if you have a kink or fetish but you keep that to the bedroom. Feeding someone in itself isn't sexual and says more about how it's portrayed by media realistically. Not my fault you only see it as a sexual or infantilizing act :/ I've also done it with friends and family members. Maybe my opinion differs because I'm a pastry chef by profession so we'd feed each other to taste test things.
It CAN be foreplay. But this was quite obviously NOT. And role play!? Does she actually even KNOW what role playing actually IS!?? People ARE freaking weird AF and so so touchy about intimacy. Was this intimate? Yes. Was this sexual? Absolutely not I think OP’s friend exposed herself here (lol) Or also, is extremely prudish and uncomfortable with open intimacy. Feeding your partner is intimate and should be celebrated. This was a shared moment, a growth moment for OP trying new food and her boo being proud of her for trying something new and out of her comfort zone. Good lord. Please… keep doing this!! NTA
Also Get way and I mean WAY over yourself!! Did this hurt anyone? Did staff come over and say anything? Did other people say anything?? No. Leave them alone. I hope this doesn’t give OP a stigma now about her partner feeding her or vice versa. Love your life. Be happy. Enjoy and savor life. Ugh.
It’s definitely not foreplay. Personally I don’t like seeing flirty pda beyond hugs or quick kisses…like if I saw someone feeding their partner I’d internally cringe, but I’d never say anything lol.
The friend should know that OP dislikes seafood, and the fact she ordered a meal different from those enjoying the seafood boil was a clear indication of that. Seeing OP's bf sharing a few bites of lobster with her, esp. where the first taste test required him to convince her to try it, was clearly him wanting her to enjoy a food he likes that she's never had before; he wanted to share that experience with her. The so-called 'friend' was either jealous of the sweet attention OP was getting, or she was mad that OP was eating her own meal plus some of the meal *she* was paying for: the more lobster OP ate, the less seafood boil/lobster for the friend. Either way, it was jealousy of some sort and her way of expressing her displeasure was to confront OP in the restroom and make it appear inappropriate so OP would refuse any more food from her bf. That OP laughed at the insinuation just aggravated the friend further so she doubled down with the ludicrous innuendo. I'd think twice before eating out with that particular friend in the future.
If you can replace boyfriend and girlfriend with parent and young child and it's not a "consider calling cps" offense... it's not inherently sexual. And I think most people would agree that if a parent fed their child from their hand, it's not a reason to call cps.
Dude, if that's roleplay, i've been doing roleplay wrong for YEARS! (different kind but like still....) For real tho, this is how we get my sister to try new things all the time. Sometimes she takes the utensil and sometimes she doesn't. It's just trying new food! Like....! What does it mean then when it comes to feeding a baby?! Are all the people feeding babies supposed to be getting turned on?! EW!!! This friend is sick in the head and jealous af....
What she witnessed was a loving gesture by a loving man. It’s at best a mild PDA. I applaud it!

I can see how it might be a little flirty but a little flirty and foreplay are different things
Unless she was suggestively licking his fingers, this just seems like harmless PDA.
that is a real kink. People acting like a child and his/her BF/GF is the parent . I can understand it if they mad a big scene.
The people thinking this is role play or forplay have no idea what they are talking about. Talk about delusional.
I'm confused with the role play - foreplay confusion 😂
Lol@foreplay
No, it is a sweet moment that I hope, for OPs sake, it continues for the rest of their lives.
The forehead kiss just seals the sweetness.
Candy Thunders reaction nearly made me piss my pants

Friend is jelly of her and her boyfriend
Yep.
In Spanish we have a phrase "El que hambre tiene, en pan piensa" it hardly translates into "the one with hunger, thinks of bread"; so...
Hmmmm I see you.
I think it says a lot about the people that consider that foreplay and probably reflects a lot about themselves. Was Lady and the Tramp doggie 🌽 by Disney? 😂
I just watched this movie with my daughter last night. 😂😂😂 Well he's a tramp, but they love him. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This "friend" may just be raging jealous . It may be as simple as that.
These people don't know what forplay is. Especially with foods you are supposed to eat with your hand.
NTA if the friend thinks this is foreplay she never really had any..... I feel bad for her
It sounds more like this friend is jealous so they construed it to something creepy and weird to make themself feel better that they don't have the sort of relationship with their partner that OP does.
Dude had messy hands from his meal and as she had separate meal he fed her so her hands stayed clean 😂😂
NTA! He knows her eating habits and has discovered that by "hand feeding" something new to her is likely the only way she would try it. Is there also a bit more to it? Possibly. My husband and I go out and feed each other all the time. Thats why we get different meals. So we can enjoy all flavors.
The friend probably googled "foreplay", "role-playing" and list probably popped up saying food feeding lol
I would have had soooo much fun with that !!!! "wait till you see what we do next , we're just getting started". lol
😂 OMG I love listening to you tell stories, this made my day, and Candy laughing in the background was the best, thank you both for always making my day. 😂😅
NTA friend is jealous. Boyfriend is a good guy. Friend OBVIOUSLY hasn't had a supportive relationship

*Drops the robe, wig, cat ears, and tail*
Probably not "roleplay." 😏
Especially because you eat lobster with your hands, it totally was just a kind, caretaking gesture.
Does the accusatory friend even know what foreplay is?
Foreplay is different for different people. Maybe the friend has role-played in the past where feeding each other by hand has lead to more, and this reminded her of that. NTA for laughing. But I don’t think we should be judging the friend for this, either. Food can be sexual.

People who don't have practical affection in relationships are hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
OP's friend needs to find her someone who knows how to treat her.
It CAN be foreplay. But this was quite obviously NOT. And role play!? Does she actually even KNOW what role playing actually IS!??
People ARE freaking weird AF and so so touchy about intimacy.

It can be foreplay, but I think that was innocent, however even if it was on purpose, so what lol.
The friend should know that OP dislikes seafood, and the fact she ordered a meal different from those enjoying the seafood boil was a clear indication of that. Friend sounds delulu.

Well we know where the friends mind is
Did she moan every time he fed her or do something like that?
The friend needs to look at her own relationship cause they obviously aren't getting taken care of in theirs.
Only if you're a shifter in a book
NTA people are messed up! It was just probably really sweet and she was jealous!! Period!! 😂😅
Was she sucking his fingers? 😮 I mean what the heck? This friend is cray cray😅
It’s only for play if you have whipped cream
Dude, if that's roleplay, i've been doing roleplay wrong for YEARS! (different kind but like still....)

There is a difference from role play and foreplay lol, and what kind of role play are they doing?
He fed her bites so she wouldn't get seafood stanky hands.... ffs
Just let folks eat. Mind your business, lady?
Why do people let their friends tell them what to do? That's a boundary for me.
She likes the boyfriend .
Feeding your partner by hand is very cutsie. I assume that's what she was upset by.
Did the friend look green by any chance?
💜
Why do they keep saying foreplay?
